I'm getting a Viewsonic G Tab soon and will be upgrading it to the latest Vegan image. I have a Sprint 250U USB 4G card that I'd like to be able to use with the tablet, but have not been able to find a Smartview port. Anyone have any ideas on how to get the USB card working with an Android tablet?

So here's my difficulty. Wireless tethering works great. But I also like battery life. So I am trying to get the usb tethering to work. I have followed the directions on androids site, and no local area connection shows up. it just installs the Android ADB driver and that's it.
I have previously installed pdanet.. so that may be a stumbling block
The laptop is an EEE pc running XP
I'm guessing it could depend on the ROM your phone is running. I'm running CM7 and everything installed automatically and perfectly.
I am running the stock t-mobile rom. I do not expect it's a "phone" problem.
want to install gsm on my zt 280 tablet how can i do this ? , what parts are required i want to make my tablet into a phone
As possessor of the same tablet I m interested too.Maybe we can install an internal usb internet key.So you can use it for data or calls. We need only to find an internal usb port.I m an hardware technician, but sadly the tablet is my father's christmas present,so i can t open it
You have to get a gsm usb modem.
If you want it build in you have to find an internal usb on the "motherboard", but not sure if there even is one.

Hey Folks,
I'm currently on OMNI Rom (Nightly) version 20140326 on my Int Galaxy S2, having this issue of USB Host driver missing.
I don't get a popup when I connect to any USB devices. I'm able to connect to USB flash drive, but unable to connect to my DSLR camera.
I dont have this issue on my Galaxy S i9000 phone which is flashed with 20140314 nightly. When I try to go to Settings>Storage>USB Computer connection, to change the settings, it doesn't allow me to go in
Previously I was on CM10 & had the same issue. I'm attaching the screenshot from the app, 'USB Host Controller' & from Phone status.
I checked with 'DSLR dashboard' app developer & this rom works fine for him. Appreciate your help to have this resolved.

I have 4 of these 32gb drives and they work in all my Samsung Galaxy Smart Phones ... 3, 4, 5 and 6. They also work in all my tablets ... Tab 8, 10.1, Tab S ... They auto mount and are USB 3.0 ... AND the BEST part? They have a standard issue USB port on one end and the USB mini port on the other so they can run just about ANYWHERE on any device. They Auto Mount up as "USB Drive 1" in all the portable devices and drive letter mount in computer type situations. Well worth the 12 bucks! I hope this helped! Link for drive:
