[ORGANIZE] Issues table and rom relevance. - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi guys,
I think with all these roms coming out, with all these kernels and all the bugs it is time we had a table showing all us the whole picture.
The table should have a first column with all the roms found here and the remaining columns should include the characteristics (ap2sd, ext4, gingerbread, mplah, mplah) and the last columns should show the most important bugs and if they are fixed.. mac address, camera, 720p playback, wakeup lag, mplah, mplah...
If the first column entries (the rom title) are clickable then we can be redirected to the thread of the rom.
This thread could also serve as a poll to the best roms.
Cheers,
F

Sounds like a great idea but also a ton of work and it will need to be constantly updated. If you are willing to make and maintain this I'm sure everyone would be thankful.

All information is freely available, and it is a simple concept to implement.
The only thing that stopped me posting this exact table when the NAND roms first came out is the level of commitment needed to continually update the table with new releases, bug fixes, bug discoveries, version updates..... etc. etc. etc. etc.
Oh yeah, and the fact that THIS exists
::EDIT::
Just seen THIS. Strange how you posted on the day this was started. Typical eh? Post in there and ask if more details can be added by the [OP]

[Q] Daily ROM update

1st I want to say thanks to all the developers that are working on the roms
I feel we need a rom update page that lists al the roms and when they were last worked on. This would make life more easy when it comes to finding out about the latest roms and updates.
What do you guys think ?

Good in theory...but probably going to get more cluttered than the development forum, so we will just have to shuffle through pages to find updates. Unless you're volunteering to keep updating the 1st post
I agree with that. Or at least have the cooks include the date in the title they were last updated. Yes some if them do that, but not all of them.
Well I could give it a go.... see how it turns out. Do you think the cooks could drop me a PM when they make a update then I can add it ?
Are you talking just downloads and dates? There would probably be a hundred threads starting a day since there's not a post with full instructions. It would work well if you put the ROM and date w/ a link to the original thread.

Sorry but that seems pointless. If you really want to make this happen, you can always scour the forum for new builds daily. It's simple enough. There aren't daily updates for all the builds.
maybe something like....

Thanks alot
great site Mark!! Loved the clean presentability. Looks s/he updates it frequently so Bookmarked!!!
Thanks so much for showing right direction!!
I cant take any credit for the site it was made by a member called ang1.
I think its automatically updated quite frequently so should always contain the latest information.
I have added it to the Stickie Rollup Thread so you can get to it from there or just bookmark it

Hi guys,
thanks for the positive comments !! The site is updated every 15 minutes from XDA. It's still not finished, I'm doing some final touches on it . I'm planning to add sorting capabilities on "last update"/"number of views"/replies/"last update"/title etc.
PM me for any feature that you would like to see on it

Dear DEVS / Thread Maintainers

I would like to request that you have all of your thread titles standardized if you are offering a ROM.
A good template would be:
[ROM](ANDROID_VERSION)-(UPDATED_LAST) Name (Version number etc)
ex:
[ROM](2.3.3)-(03/31/2011) CyanogenMod 7 for Vibrant.
&
[ROM](2.2)-(04/03/2011) Trigger v2.9.2 / EDT
or something to this affect. it's confusing looking around with all of the rom version numbers being mistaken for android version numbers. Also, it's nice to see when something was updated without having to see the entire thread.
It's already pretty much like this..
there are only 2 2.2 roms, Trigger & Bionix
there is 1 gingerbread rom (cm7)
and there are 9999999 2.2.1 ROMs
dates are almost always in the topic title anyways...
that's just being nitpicky.. speaking of which, this is posted in the wrong section.
ironically, you just posted an extra thread that contraindicates your cleanup suggestion.

Posted it where it would be read by the correct people. Less cleanup, more organisation of ROMs.
To other responder, two things: you're wrong (i.e. there are two Gingerbread ROMs for the Vibrant: CM7, MIUI), and even if that were true, not everybody knows which ROM is which all of the time. This would make things easier for users who don't view the forum every day and don't keep up with every ROM.

Nah, your acting like a hypocrite.
So your posting this in the wrong section, because YOU want organization.
Did you ever go, into dev section? All the titles are put fine, and theres already been a precedent, and its been set. The titles cannot be changed.
Thread is useless and takes up space.
(Useless post being nitpicky) (android 1.5-3.0) (4.4.11) (please delete) is how u should re-label this. N fyi there are 3 gingerbread roms. Cm7, miui and dbl rainbow.

The Official Thunderbolt ROMs and Kernels Listing (DEAD)

Thank you very much everyone for all your support. This iteration of the listings is now dead as I'm moving onto Version 2 which will continue the evolution of the listings. I hope you all continue to help give ideas, suggestions, and what not to the new version much like you have with this one.

See you all there.

Nice compilation. The only reason I am not complaining about a "repost" is because you provide much more detail than the current sticky
I think this is useful. It would also be nice to include MD5 sum of the files for those who wish to verify before flashing. This may require a lot of effort to maintain though.
*EDIT* and at this point all of the ROMs are based off of sense, but once the RIL issues are sorted out and AOSP ROMs start dropping then it would also be nice to have a line for each ROM stating if it is Sense-based or AOSP-based.

Certainly once AOSP ROMs rather if they are Froyo, Gingerbread, Ice Cream, Honeycomb, Chocolate Cake, Sherbet, Fudgecicle, Peanut Brittle, Oreo Blizzard, Sundae, or heaven forbid... Apple Pie... then I will update the listing to reflect that.
Great post OP! The only thing I have to add is Virus ROM 3-1 version (nonsense). I believe it's the same as 3 but with all sense elements removed.

Thank you very much everyone for your kind words. I certainly plan on keep this updated as well. I might not update it right away whenever a new ROM/kernel comes out but it will be done. As far as this thread getting a sticky I'll leave that up to the mods/admins here if they want to do that or not. I'd love for it to happen but in the end (sadly) its not my call.

[Q] Full function android on HD2

I had an HD2 before but did not like windows at all and there was not a suitable android release for it so I sold it.
I really liked the phone but was wondering if there is a good android replacement where everything works available for it now?
Thanks for any help
I use the BOYPPC SHIFTPDA DHD V18 Rom (Desire HD) on my HD and it works perfectly on it.
if you have TMOUS LEO1024 i would check out this ROM. i have found that its pretty much bug free (none that i've found anyway) and a great ROM overall. also a great fast/stable ROM would be RAFDROID HD found here.
if you need a guide on re-installing Android i would check this thread out
I have not bought one yet but I'm looking on Craig's list and will find one soon.
Are the ones you guys mentioned Gingerbread?
Thanks for your help
I've tried almost all available NAND builds for HD2 and I can say that I found only one stable and fast build which is NexusHD2-Gingerbread".
I've tried those big, ram eaters - HTC SENSE ROM's
The thing that convinced me to install it was obviously HTC Sense, but I realized that it's unless if I am not using it's widgets (facebook, twitter, messages, etc).
But that wasn't the main reason why I left these roms, the main reason was the performance. Booting took much longer than on normal clean non-sense rom, I had to wait until it stabilize itself after each boot (1-2 minutes, htc sense had to load up and other processes). Scrolling wasn't smooth as on clean rom. These roms are more likely designed for 1024mb hd2's because on 512 hd2's it just doesn't fit (i don't know how it works on 1024mb but i guess the same, the only reason why I said it is for 1024mb hd2's was because mostly every htc sense build requires sd parition). The phone did not respond as quick as on clean gingerbread build. I just think that camera is better than on clean rom, pictures looks nice, sharp with good contrast.
I've also tried MUI roms.
These roms are nice and simple, eye catchy UI and advanced settings. Ability to change lots of things such as boot image and sound, custom firewall, etc. everything can be easily found, just few taps, everything is nicely designed.
However it is not as quick as clean rom, it can hang somewhere, and not always completely translated from Chinese to English. You can customize it for your own needs.
Normal clean roms are the best in my opinion.
I've used mostly all different roms, Android and Windows 7, and I always come back to NexusHD2-Gingerbread rom. I think that the only thing that makes me changing this rom is it's simplicity. It is the cleanest rom I ever seen and quickest one (you just need to change home launcher to GOLAUNCHER as it make the phone super fast and responsible, because on standard one scrolling through apps lags).
So I prefer this rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060 thanks to it's fast booting, fast responding and stability.
HTC SENSE ROM's might have better benchmarks but believe me it can't be compared with Clean NexusHD2-Gingerbread rom. Every gameloft game
work flawlessly on it.
It is just my opinion from the experience with those roms.
Do we have to have this same topic re-created and re-cycled every single [email protected]*king day?
Its not hard to use search or go through a couple of pages, Its just pure lazyness to create this topic, pure and simple.
Second vote for Gingerbread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060 It is just great and hassle-free, gave me no trouble of any kind.
As far as threads like this are concerned, I don't see why members can't ask for other members' opinions on what they like or dislike. Of course they can go and check out the available versions by going through the threads and posts, but personal recommendations would be the best way of finding out the outstanding work, rather than waste time going back and forth even after all the reading is done and all the problems are noted. It's not only time consuming, it can be daunting with the amount of information and releases that's out there. Perhaps we should run the best release poll and have it stickied to save time. After that whoever wants to try other things is free to rummage through the section and flash at their heart's desire.
@Gabriel51 your bound to get so many different answers because everyone likes different things as already pointed out
@dawid your right that if you dont use the widgets theres really no point at all so i have to give you that but lets talk about scores for a second. i personally clocked 41.something mflops on RAFDROID HD using linpack, a 2816 quadrant score & vellamo was only 29 points behind the dual core Sensation. now im not saying numbers are everything but you would have to admit thats pretty fast. although i really like the wifi calling feature available on the NexusHD2 ROM which im sadly missing :'( this feature alone is worth flashing that ROM
@TheATHEiST it does seem like this is covered on a daily basis from different people and a search would yeild results if people would ever use it. i will say though in all fairness that i use the search feature everytime im trying to find something but i feel the search function on this site is a little subpar causing it to be difficult at times to find what your looking for. most of the time i dont have any problem at all though.

They can, thats not the point, The point is this is the same question, over and over and over, Why create the same topic and ask it again instead of reading one of the other topics? You are going to get just as relevant answers by reading them as you are creating another topic. All topics like this do is clutter the place up.
For example, If I was to get a new device tomorrow, I wouldnt go and create a silly topic like this in my new devices section as its common sense it will have already been asked and answered, Instead I would go and read the topics that already exist and try some roms out for myself. The fun part is learning and adapting.

There is a no stupid question for most educators and then there are those that expect you to glean through hoards of information in hopes of finding and discerning information relevant to ones needs.

I've had this argument a few times now. The point is if you all keep creating threads on topics that have already been Answered your making it harder for people to search for their answers because your cluttering up the forums with sh+t. I'm happy to spend some of MY time answering questions but when the op could of simply typed "revert hd2 to stock xda" into Google and found his answer it becomes quite tedious because this question does get asked everyday.
/edit and the op shouldn't be installing custom roms if he doesn't know how to remove them

ROM List?

Hi,
I do realise that one of the moderators have requested not to ask questions or they will be deleted, however, I was wondering if someone (and yes, this is mainly aimed at a moderator) could make a thread with listing all the ROMs with links to the respective threads and Sticky it.
I have seen this done for other devices I have owned in subforums of this site and has made ROM tracking and selection easier, especially for newbies (although this is one of my first posts, I have been with the site for several years now).
Regards and apologies for the request/question.
Without sounding l*ke a ****...
I understand you want it stickied here but You should just search google, there's a list compiled of nearly all the DHD ROMs.
You're probably just gonna' get flamed for this post, you need to search properly (On and off XDA) before starting a thread.
why dont you make it?
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk 2 Beta-5
Ya that would be a nice contribution, if you went and created such a list and kept it updated. good idea! But i agree, if its something you want, do it and youll probably see good responses to that. Asking someone to do easy but tedious work for you, thats lazy and probably not going to happen.
You are right wrong section for questions.
But I'll hopefully answer you.
In other phones sub forums members with some extra time on their hands have created a thread...then if it's suitable mods will sticky it.
Trouble is builds are changed and or updated often and after a while the op of the sticky struggles to keep it upto date.
Most of the best builds are found on the first or second page. Which acts like a sticky in its self! Obviously takes a little more time to navigate the info on each build as some peoples ops are huge! But at least the info is as current as it could possibly be.
At first Rom lists were just what I wanted too but after seeing other stickys for other phones dwindle to being unusable just subscribing to my top threads for each style of Rom I use is more convenient and personal to me.
I hope I finish writing this before this thread is closed!
Peace people

Firstly, I would make one more than happily, however, without garauntee that it would get Stickied (which I cannot control for obvious reasons :S) it would be a waste of my time.
Yes I realise I will probably be flamed for this thread. And no offence taken.
After posting this (and then getting the second reply) I realised that I should not have bothered, not for the responses I may (and most probably will) get, but the site does not allow for a non-moderator to delete a thread, not even the original poster (from my knowledge), although I do still stand by my belief that what I have requested/suggested would benefit a lot of people, save a lot of questions/remarks (generally rude and un-necessary) and yes, I would still be happy to compile it, if it were garaunteed to be Stickied.
Regards again
I was feelin kind so i made you a list http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=765

lol you didnt get flamed at all taken in account that the thread exists, even better two of them.
one of 3 stickys in this forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936214
and inside that there are at least two links with list of roms:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=846248
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1079108
which to be honest are quite outdated but never the less are exactly what you are asking for. and the best list is the development forum itself. i am amazed to be able to even post this meaning the thread is still open
Ok, thank you everyone for your comments, help and assistance, I do not believe my point was 100% clear to everyone.
I do not have a problem 'myself' finding what I am after, twas a thought for others.
However, I especially thank those of you who clearly could point out exactly how stupid I am for even thinking of such a thing and for proving to me that people cannot read and understand a simple clear post.
Point made, my (seemingly good at the time to reduce rubbish posts, questions and requests (like this)) idea has been misconstruded and misunderstood by those whom I had the belief would be those that would understand simple context the best.
Please can a MOD delete this thread before it gets rediculously out of control.
Regards and appreciation

? did you get lots of pm's asking for a Rom list sticky from noobs? I thought your point was 'why isn't there a Rom list in the stickys?' What kind of answer were you looking for?
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using xda premium
for user.unknown: http://alchemistar.blogspot.com/2010/12/htc-desire-hd-custom-rom-list.html
I suppose this'd answer the best to your initial question.

Nevermind, I thought I was being helpful and even offering to do this work on the basis of it being stickied 'somewhere' clearly. My opinion hasn't been changed by your 'personal opinion' and that is also respected.
Comment was not directed at any individual specifically.
Again, MOD please delete and apologies for the offer
Working on it
It may not be something necessary but as a user i dont give much to the xda community and since I have long weekend without school Im in the process of creating a list with: Roms, Kernels. tweaks, scripts and recovery will upload asap hope a moderator will stick it once done. Will update this post with link when available.
Edit:
Even if we have Grant Barker list [BTW thanks for that] i will continue my list specially for kernels, tweaks and scripts.
On the link below you can have a view at the format that im going to use [ unless mayority prefers another] its still under construction and features only the first development pages as it is intended to see if i will continue with it depending on replies.

For an up-to-date rom list for the HTC Desire HD, you can use mine.. I update it daily.. http://www.grantbarker.com/#roms
It's been quite popular for about a year, now.

I've used your list quite a few times, although i havn't looked at it for a little while. It's by far the most up-to-date list i've seen and it's good to see that you still keep it up-to-date. A lot of these lists get real old real quick.
Thanks lrm537.

Just because you said the word "MOD", doesn't mean I'll find your post or thread.
Please use the "Report Post" button found on every post. It will then notify me or the other assigned moderators to your post.
Thread Closed.
EDIT: Grant Barkers ROM list will be added to the Sticky Post in the Development Section
Cheers Grant
