Thank you all devs

I have been a member of this website for quite a few years and just wanted to leave a note for all the devs in the epic community. Those of us who have been around for quite some time can and always will be patient waiting for finished products. I started in the htc touch forums and there were issues with NFSfan and some of his roms. THANK YOU DEVS OF THE EPIC!! Hopefully I can donate a beer to each one of you and especially WHOSDAMAN for all his great work in the past. I just wanted to say thank you with no complaints!
Welcome
I appreciate all the devs for there time and dedication for giving us some great roms. Thanks!

Epic Proportions
I joined in February when I got my Rhodium and wanted to break it loose and begin flashing.
The drama as of late in THIS forum is pointless drivel IMO.
Thanks to noobnl, Firon, whosdaman, evilpeople, mammon88, schizopunk, ACS syndicate and everyone else that's not fresh in my memory (lmfao.. sorry) for all the work you have all done thus far.
Too much 'entitlement' and bickering and not enough thanks for what we currently have.
"Thanks for what we currently have, and for what we'll have tomorrow, or next thursday, or whenever it comes"
Now put that out or pass it my way
YAR
Thanks Devs!
I have gotten into Android and Samsung mobile development soley because of the progress made here and around the community for the devices that I own. I have been programming here and there for years, writing code for fun, but for a novice programmer looking to jump right into the field.. the unofficial support provided by everyones ideas and solutions has made it a great transition.
I for one think that this kind of stuff is a blast, its my FAVORITE hobby. My line of work fortunately provides me with free time during my work day, and at home I can do more collaborative work. I would love to add some hours of freelancing to the projects.
Right now other priorities and holidays will keep me hibernating and tinkering alone, but I definately look forward to joining the community as an active member at the end of this year
+1 love u devs

Yes, thank you devs! Drama or not, I still appreciate the work you do. My Epic runs so much better because of you all.

Punkkaos' twitter

I figured it would be interesting to discuss punkkaos' twitter. I'm new to Android, but apparently he did a lot of good work for the Eris and had a Fascinate before and just got one again, and he seems to be doing lots of great work based off of the stuff JT and mrbirdman have been doing. Check it out, I think this is definitely something any impatient people will want to subscribe to.
Gotta love punkkaos, he's bringing cyangenmod to the Fascinate just like he brought froyo to the eris.
Rockin' DJ05, Minimal Icognito, Clocked at 1.3Ghz
Yeah, I've been watching that, too. If you look back a few, he replied to someone saying he was working on cm6 and gingerbread both side-by-side. Pretty cool.

I used to have an Eris also, and what he did for that community was/is great. I was just taking a look at his twitter and no respect to jt, birdman et al, but... I really find it amazing how he is able to squash bugs 1 by 1 almost every hour if not more. I also really like his transparency of letting us know really progress. I have quite a bit of C/C++ experience from the past 6-7 years, and I would like to get into android development at some point (besides rolling kernels) and I like being able to read about his journey.
Good things are sure to come!

Well I think partially it's just because he posts more in general, we don't really know when jt is having trouble but he out of nowhere got the RIL working so clearly he can squash bugs too... but i definitely prefer the prolific twitter updates.

jt also put a lot of work into the kernel. There are likely more optimizations in there than anyone using a kernel based on his source realizes.
Most of our devs hate us. The fascinate community is pretty ungrateful typically.
Just a thought. This isn't referring to you necessarily, but think about some of the users vs. dev posts in the past.

I don't think that the fascinate users are truly ungrateful, it's just the massive frustration leaking through.

That's what I've been noticing (the ungratefulness and inability to use search of most people here). I don't think they hate most people though, despite all the whining people do about adrynalyne he still fixes so many people's phones. I think the stupidity in this forum just keeps most of them from bothering to read it.

Best of luck to you guys, its a shame about those who left but if any team can handle this level of member loss its EDT.

What's not to get? This is the decision that was made. Brick'ds rom would now be considered an unofficial EDT rom, so he decided to leave. Please stop trying to create drama when there's no reason to.
They knew, when making this decision, that it wasn't going to be popular with everyone.

Don't forget, this also means that my own roms are no longer official.
No, not popular at all, but this will enable us to move forward as a team with the concentration being on the perfection of a singular rom.
I fully understand and respect that approach. Furthermore, I feel everyone involved has approached this with class. Kudos, gentlemen, for keeping this drama free.
Am I allowed to speculate that the

I understand both points perfectly. I also respect that decision, some people just love their conspiracy theories.
Best of luck to all involved...i have tried most edt roms and they are all consistently excellent...if this is what it takes to get our vibrants to
2.3 and above so be it...cuz honestly it was confusing to have so many roms from one team based on the same couple iterations of android (2.2, 2.2.1)
But after using loki as my dd for weeks and then switching to atriarc and now realizing neither of which will be supported bi-winning better be damn good...lol

I love edt roms. I always thought that there were just too many being banged out. This is actually a good idea. The official roms will be tightened and the non-officials will still be worked on when they can. Its win/win. Quality over quantity.
Cheers!

I'll go ahead and put an end to all rumor right now. It was completely my decision, and there are no hard feelings. When jellette initially approached me to join the team, it was still new, still developing. When we were described by jellette last week as a loose consortium of devs maintaining our own projects yet pitching in with each other when needed, that is exactly what I've thought we've been the whole time. Since then though, seems priorities have changed and he wants to resturcture.
We had all spoken about something like this a month or so ago, and it didn't pan out at that time. After the comment last week, I figured it was all good in the hood and business as usual. Not sure what sparked the need to transition, and to do it so quickly, or what seemed quickly to the couple of us who did not get the memo. One thing jellette omitted from the OP, was that in the "binding document", out of a list of six individuals, half of the team had already agreed to it, by the time he sent it to the rest of us. I was never a math whiz, but that tells me there was a meeting between some of "us", and decisions were made with or without the rest of us.
The rest as they say, is history.
So, lets now all get on with our lives. I for one, forgot how much I do love Ginger Clone R2.
To EDT: I had fun. I learned a lot. Good Luck guys, and catch ya on the flipside.

What do you mean 'not official'? Or you meant that, it has to be collab'd with all EDT team, before making it official? And that, each member has it's own personal roms that can not be made official due to being an individual rom?
If that's the case, you don't have to answer, i just needing understanding. Thanks Heathen!
I see both sides of the argument. On one side it creates a uniform project, on the other it limits reach/individuality. I guess theme building will take a large step up for this. As it seems most people on here are only worried about what looks cool. And there are many different views as to what "looks" cool.
Personally the thing I like about the EDT group was the wide array of roms there were out there to try. I've rifled through just about every rom there was out there except for Loki and Malice, which ironically coincides with the people who left the group. Brickd's name is one that carries much weight in the vibrant community for me. I look forward to see the roms from EDT and the ones who left in the future. I just hope the group stays as helpful to the end user as they've been in the past. The attention to problems and questions by other users has been stellar.
Okay, I propose a 24 hour ban on EDT posts. I really don’t want to jump on here again and read that Jellette has decided he no longer needs a cell phone and that Roman’s decided he’s going back to working on the G1. Whitehawkx and Demiurgic are now joining Som & Krylon with Nexus development.
In all seriousness, I wish all parties involved the very best. Without all their hard work we’d all have different phones right now. Thanks for all you guys due as well as putting up with all of us clowns.

oh okay.
I was just reverse-searching Heathens IP so i could go burn his house for making you leave. You saved him a whole house. (kidding)
Anyways, Brick'd you were always my second fav EDT member (freakin' heathen just got me hooked on flagship since part 1 sorry )
and it really is sad to see you go. I hope you once again re-think this, and maybe decide to stay, or atleast come back sooner.
@OP
I do like the idea, infact, i was probably one of the few that kept telling you to make 1 official rom, so you'd be more organized instead of releasing 5 roms weekly.
Well, EDT is my favorite team, and i would like them to have the best experience themselves and not just us consumers(?)
Good Luck on your new idea heathen, and i support and like it.
Cheers to a new beginning?

No, there are now only the Official EDT roms as laid out in the OP of this thread. Any side projects, of which there will be very few, will not enjoy the full support of the team.
This cuts down on the team being stretched out over several roms.

Good on you man.
Now this is what you call, a 'community'. Clearly, "Brick'd" had made this decision on his own, and he's venturing on. I like his ROM's, as well as others. I made it to a point that every week, or maybe two (depending on my schedule), i'm flashing different ROM's and showcase them to friends of mine, whom got Vibrant's themselves. I even compete amongst my colleagues that have the 4G, and beat them on the fast and responsiveness of the ROM's we got here.
Anyway, best of luck to you, hopefully you release more of your personalized Roms. Thanks bro!

Ahh, ok. Understood.
Thanks bro. BTW, nice freaking work on Atriarc. Some of my coworkers that have that phone are wondering how come I have some of the features they got and i'm not even AT&T or let alone an Atriarc phone. I go... "Secret, i'd have to kill you. Need to know basis" lol
Cool, thanks for the clarification....

NOSTALGIA!

I retired my final myTouch a few days ago! I'm sad to leave the MT3G community but it has been a great load of fun and i have learned so much from all of the Devs and Forum members! Thank you for giving me an experience that I can take with me in life wherever technology surrounds! (this whole thing is very cheesy but, i think it deserves a post!) I'm loving my new SGS4G, but there will always be a spot for my first Android phone in my heart! Long live the ION! It was a tremendous stepping stone for the Android community!
Wooow! SGS4G! A great Step! MT3G R.I.P. Ejoy your new device!

Farewell

Hi,
I'd like to say goodbye to all G3's community members.
I've been wandering here for few good months, during release for first working root method, first rom, Bump and now official CM12.
Now it's time to change the device (it's time for some fresh air of WP) and I'm kinda sad to leave this community
I'd like to thank @sooti, @Skin1980, @S3V3N, whole Team Codefire and countless other developers for their great job and contribution to making this phone better.
Hope I'll see Your great work on other devices in the future
Good luck! Have fun with your new device
