will gummy jar ever have hdmi capabilities? That's the only thing I wish this rom had. Besides that I love it and with linear themed on top it's beautiful.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
HDMI would really be nice. Due to lack of it and exchange problems I switched back to the new tranquility. I will say though liberty rom is pretty awesome.
I flashed liberty about a week ago. Best ROM out there. But still no HDMI support

My friend just got a droid 2 global... obviously the rooting is similar... but is flashing and all the same right? Droid 2 uses koushs bootstrapper right?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Yes, the methods for achieving said process' are similar if not the same. However, do not take this to mean that the same files for the D2 can be used on the Dx and vice versa. The bootstrapper for each device is slightly different.
Just make sure if you are doing comparisons for apps or themes not to pull for the wrong phone =)
I am having trouble finding out how to put the stock keyboard on rubix blurry 2.0. Can someone help me out? Thanks.
+1 me two. That's the only reason im not using rubix and im very sad. My phone loves rubix better then any rom. So for now im on liberty using multi-touch keyboard. The weird thing is I've had it in rubix 1.9.7 before but the way I put it on doesn't work.

Anyone? With all these talented people, I know someone has to know how to successfully get the keyboard onto Rubix Blurry.
I've done it before a few times but for some reason the method I used is not working. I don't know why. Just hope that Drod will add a toolbox down the line.

Do you have the stock moto keyboard zip file? Or is that the wrong keyboard?

Hey guys, I have an x2 so I'm new to this forum but I want to flash a ROM on my wifes Droid x (used to be my Droid x). What's the best ROM currently (with working camcorder cause that's a big deal apparently)? Thanks everyone!

Don't everyone answer at once now

I like cm7.
I have been using YACK (Yet Another CM7 Kang) for a while and loved the speed of it. Before that, CM7. I believe you stick with a CM7 based rom and your good. You can still enjoy HDMI features also.
Perfect. Thank you. You have a link our URL for yack?

I am unsure if I am allowed to post a link here, so I will explain how to get to it. Its on RootzWiki site, in the DroidX Development section. It is not in its own sub-category, I believe its on the second page. You should have no problems finding it.

Link for YACK
Rom
If she is new to android i would suggest Miui due to its user friendliness and its customizability.

I also would recommend MIUI, regardless.
MIUI is probably the most full featured stable rom for the Droid X.

MIUI is nice, but I prefer the speed and stability of CM7. I always seem to have weird issues with MIUI, mainly bluetooth problems.
I installed YACK on my wife's x based of the recommendation. I found a couple of things annoying but might be a problem with many roms.
The button lights are either always on or always off. I would like them to come on with the screen back-light.
The notification LEDs don't work. I've tried to set them up in the KANG settings but so far haven't had any luck.
And last but not least my wife is on my ass about not having the "Droid" sound. (I can't win!)
MUIU for customization, CM7 is very sleek & stable. I like l
Liberty the best as all stock functions still work, very stable and seems to be the fastest of them.

Since the DX is pretty old now are there any dev's still making new ROMS for this device? Also what are you currently running ROM/Kernel wise?
Developers are very active with the Droid X.
On mine, I am running MIUI v4.

GrapeGum Gummy Kang with Apex launcher. Purple color removed of course.
Its the closest you can get to a pure Google OS such as the galaxy nexus.
i'm running the APEX rom...i'm pretty sure my version is outdated because i haven't paid much attention to my phone since moving into the tablet world.

Take a peek at Gummy 1.2.0 ICS rom. You will not be disapointed. I would use the release from goo manager. You can get it on another forum as well.

How is it running now? I used it back when it was 0.9.5.

Stock ROM. It has its issues, but I've heard of worse.

I've tried most of the ICS ROMs for the Droid X. I really like them, but my battery life isn't as good as stock with them. Of course the 2 year old battery is about done for anyways. I'm stock .605 rooted right now. It's my fall back, safe ROM.
Running cm9 with the cm9 kernel works like a charm!

I had tried a couple then loaded Vortex Reloaded. Battery life is really good and everything I need works. It's given new life to my old phone.
CM9, working fine! Anyone know if a JB from will come out?

Once the source code is released, developers will probably start work on porting it.
My guess is it shouldn't be incredibly difficult for them, since it's just an incremental update.

Do these ROMs pass Google's CTS test?

i'm using wizard's miui DefX 2012.5.12 and it's really all i need on the droid x. insane battery life. smooth. call/sms and data blocking built-in. bootmenu. stable as none other. flashed beats audio and PDroid zip for extra privacy. i remember getting 3 and half days off this rom on one charge, stock battery, and with medium use. crazy.
So can these be loaded from rooted .621? Or am I stuck now that I took the OTA (even though I kept root)?

Also running LiquidICS. Best ICS rom I have run so far, although it looks like CM9 is pushing ahead nicely.
