I recently moved about 300 miles from home for college and am now on a Cingular network according to my phone. I called T-mobile and they say I wont be charged roaming but I am still having problems and they can't seem to figure it out.
1. All text messages I receive are timestamped 3 hours late. Ex. I get the message at 9:00PM local time, and the message says it was from 6:00PM.
2. Sometimes when I try to send messages I get a popup saying "text message cannot be sent"
3. When I receive text messages they are typically on a 10-15 minute delay. Some people I send messages to get them and I receive their response immediately but most I send out get to them immediately but I get their response late.
I have called T-Mobile customer support each day this week but all they have told me to do is to turn the phone off, pull the battery and turn it on 5mins later. This only fixes it for a few hours if that long. Is my SIM bad?
Anyone have any ideas?
So I purchased a XV6900 approximately two weeks ago. The first day, it wouldn't receive texts and phone calls while in sleep. From that day forth, more problems added up. My text messages would freeze up, the phone would light up like I was receiving a text, but then not show it. I had to actually open up the text message mailbox for it to finally show. Finally, after a whole day of this going on (normally it was off and on), I took it back to Verizon, and they gave me a new one. Low and behold, it started doing it again after about 24 hours. Has anybody else had these problems, and if yes, what did you do to fix them?
try upgrading firmware with latest software from carrier...I just bought mine and the software was ver.1 and the latest was ver.3.something, made a big difference...
Hey. I have gotten my HD2 since november and been reading this forum about SMS-delays and stuff but installed new ROMs and official fixes and was hoping that everything was solved. Now lately I have been more social and only today there has been a few strange buggy things that never has happened on an old phone.
1) I sent a message with delivery reports and she actually replied without me giving a delivery report notice.
2) Got an sms that I have gotten a voicemail just 10 min ago :S? Didnt reach my phone.
3) Emails have gotten delayed quite a bit
This is only in addition to some big delays I have had around new year with smses getting delivered several hours too late etc (I accept this because traffic was probably quite high).
Is this enough to return my phone? Will this phone ever become bugfree :S?
Ever thought of maybe your carrier having problems?
Delayed SMS or status messages can happen since they are all network services.... I don't think its a problem of the phone, cuz all you are waiting for are network services.
mybe try another sim for a minute or wait until tomorrow or a few days...
Hello, i have a samsung galaxy and my girlfriend has a blackberry curve. She gets all of my txt msgs but i dont get all of hers sometimes. Anyone know the problem?
Funny, I was just told by someone on Verizon that they didn't get my text tonight. It's happened before, and not with just this person.
I would think it's T-Mobile network-related and not an issue with the phone, though.
Same thing has been happening this weekend, I also have no been able to access the internet 95% of the time but I am guessing tmobile is doing some network maintenance or something since I am not the only some friends are having problems with the internet/texts.
I live in dallas, texas btw.
Yeah, I am having problems with receiving texts. A couple of times I have gotten a batch of texts at the exact time in the middle of the night. No idea if it's the other phone or mine. (Btw this is only one other person/phone this has happened from, Blackberry.)
My text reception is wonky here in Los Angeles. My gf sent me 5 texts yesterday. I received 2 this morning, and the other 3 are still in limbo.
I get this too, got it on my G1 as well, so I take all my texts through my google voice number now. The weird thing is, unless all my friends are systematically lying to drive me insane, I am still not getting every text.
had that issue all day yesterday. I just got 8 messages this morning, that i missed from yesterday. I thought it was just the rom i was running.
Same issue in Boise, Idaho. Kind of funny because a bunch of texting I did yesterday with some friends didn't go through and then at 5:30 this morning they got a bunch of texts from me and I got all the ones they sent...
T-mobile is having issues I am thinking lol
My girlfriend has been having the same problem but it's been happening ever since we bought the phone in July. There would be times of the day where she couldn't send/receive messages and then hours/days later receive batches of messages (sometimes up to 30 in a matter of 5 minutes) from previous days.
She'll also receive a voicemail alert without the phone even ringing atleast twice a day even with full reception.
Just hoping the update will correct these problems because we really do like this phone
+1 on issue. I'm not getting some texts from a tmobile blackberry. Another thing, this happened only once so far but one text I received it duplicated 5 times.
I've been having this same problem with my girlfriend.I'm in Canada I'm on the bell network and she's on rogers. Its not only this phone though it did this when I had my iphone aswell. I'm thinking its more a network issue than a device issue. She has an iphone 4, and it did the same thing previously when she had her iphone 3g.

Kinda off topic, I got text from people today but the text was repeated like 10 times for the same text. Happened with two different people...very weird.
We might be on to something, people!
Has anyone else experienced MMS/SMS sending failures? One day last week I tried sending a MMS to my boyfriend for at least an hour and it kept saying "unable to send retry". I finally gave up, and deleted the message and physically showed him what I was making for dinner later on LOL. Mind you, I had full bars. Now again today I tried sending a regular text message to a friend and same thing, "unable to send retry". At least this time it went through the second try. I never had this issue sitting at the exact same spot ( at work) with my Nexus. I've had other occurrences too and it can get annoying. I am using the default Samsung messenger. Should I download a third party messaging app?
Did you ever fix?
I just started having the same problem with my SMS after the June update. When I try to send a text message it takes a while for it to send or keeps saying "failed to send". Did you ever get it fixed or figure out the problem? If so I am curious as to how.
I have the same failures but only on WiFi. If I turn off WiFi it's not an issue.

Yeah I just noticed that too. It only does it when i'm on wi-fi, but it just started doing it after my phone updated with the June security patch. I have always texted while on wi-fi at home and never had a problem until now. Wonder if there's an actual fix where wi-fi doesn't need to be off?
I had the same issue with SMS/MMS on stock app. I called up ATT and they reconnect something, but working fine now
