[Q] Miri 23152 Rom Email Problem - HD2 General

Hey Guys,
I recently installed the Miri 23152 cooked rom on my hd2 and since flashing the original rom with this one the phone has been running a lot faster, android runs on the sd card faster, and just about everything on the phone now is, well..... faster!
But there is one problem that I (and many others) have found and that is that the email client no longer lets you view your emails.
When pressing on an email within the sense UI on the email tab, it will take me to the inbox. however, pressing on any email within my inbox will not open the message. So I only get a small preview of the name of the email and the top of the header from what you see from the inbox menu.
A lot of people have been asking Miri about this fix. Earlier this month he had got back to one individual about this and said that an update would be up on the net in a few days. But Miri has seemed to have disappeared since.
I was just wondering if anybody has managed to find a fix for this yet? It's a fantastic rom and just a small shame that the mail client does not work properly at this moment in time.
OS Version: 5.2.23152 (23152.5.3.12)
Manilla Version: 2.5.20181424.0
Rom Version: Miri HD2 6.5.X - V 26.0 WWE
Radio Version: 2.12.50.07U (Radio probably not important since it is a custom one flashed before I even flashed the rom, but just incase).

solved
For anybody who is needing this information, Miri has re-appeared with an update the url is:

I need Miri rom v26

Import Manila to hp 614c??

Good morning guys. I searched it but I didn't find anything. Is it possible to import Manila (tf3d from HTC diamond) in hp 614c? Thank you
manilla 2d is possible if u have a english rom and it works very well for me.
Can you explain how to do it
Sorry for the stupid question but are you talking about the port of the 2D manila interface, running on HTC 3g? If so, please tell me where in the forum can I download the installation files. Are there any specific issues with the ipaq 614.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2277642#post2277642
You can also try this ROM (WM 6.1):
http://rapidshare.com/files/165082651/614_WM6.1_19971.rar this beta but stable.
password: israpda.com
Manila is in there and works very fast and stable. The same for ROM.
ROM has been cooked by Yevg001 from 4pda:
http://66.102.9.104/translate_c?hl=...rt=280&usg=ALkJrhigVfV9tLK4nQjO6pm00-lUGJN42g
To flash the firmware:
1. Unzip archive using provided above password
2. Copy flash.dio to SD card (important!!! it must by SD (<2GB) not SDHC card)
3. Turn the device off (push and hold power button)
4. Insert your SD card
5. With the same time push: record, mute and power button
6. After ~1sec release power button then remaining buttons
7. You will get "SDloader"
8. Do not touch anything until iPAQ boot itself (you can observe progress bar)
You have done...

Have you tried this rom? It has manila cooked in right? I have the auto shutdown problem with my ipaq, is it safe if i install teh power update patch by hp before putting this rom? I guess it's only rom, not a radio update so it won't affect it, but i don't want to brick it after all... Thanks
Axlastro,
Yes I am using this ROM. It is very fast and stable (it has 12MB pagepool).
Yes Manila is cooked in.
If the power update is a just patch for ROM I believe you can install it just after flash, but if I were you I would rather wait and see if the same problem is in the new ROM - if it is then I will make the patch installation.
Yes it is only Operating System (ROM) update.

re: bigu1975
Hi there. I installed this rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446243 ,but it doesn't have manila cooked in. I will be flashing it again with the rom posted in the site. I noticed that some of the netcf programs won't work - they exit and report error. I'm satisfied with the overall performance of the wm 6.1 rom - it has all the hp goodies and even the camera works better i also notice far better booting times and file system read/write speeds. I do have active sync problems - the device doesn't always connect. So finally my question : Do you have any particular problems like those described by me with the version of the rom you are using.

Hi,
In general I don't have any problems related to programs. Mentioned ROM is clean, stable and it is very fast. It includes the same as HP ROM with new kernel from WM6.1 + Manila and some other useful applications which are tested and they are working fine.
I have noticed only one minor problem related to toggle WiFi using TouchFlo. It can be simple solved by the following method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2954341&postcount=9
ActiveSync - I noticed similar problems on WM6.1 on different devices. I think it is caused by ActiveSync itself. IMHO the problem is when you connect your device with ActiveSync already running. Then described problem appears. When ActiveSync is not running then it is fine. I hope I solved this problem by adding (in ActiveSync) dummy server and by setting the Sync time to manual. This already described, on this forum, solution protect ActiveSync against automatically start and also helps on syncing issue.
I have used many ROMs for 614C and I think Yevg001's ROM are simply the best. This one is the fastest one I tested. After few days of testing I recommend this one
Regards.
I have few bugs.
When I add MyFaves widget touchflo would not start and
Internet widget is not working for me?
Anyone has the same problem?

MyFaves it is TouchFlo problem. I don't use it
Internet widget doesn't work because there is no Opera browser in this ROM. I think when you install Opera it start to work. On this Manila version the Internet browser link is hardcoded to Opera. As I know in the newest Manila version it is possible to change the link to different browser. At this moment the newest Manila works only on HTC devices - we can't install it on our HP.

Nice, Miri will be my first as well, quite likely ! Already any view on the sms issue in this new ROM ? Can you shed any light on that ?
I'm very excited... waiting
Really glad to see you here Miri,
Eagerly waiting........
Used to use your ROMs on me HD, now HD2 !
Excellent. More choices!!!
THANKS MIRI !!!!!!!
I'm very happy to see you here !!!!!
1.Chainfire drivers are include in this ROM ?
2. what about radio ? 2.06 ou 2.05 ?
thanks a lot.
Caste23
Guys, the new ROMs are online. For your convenience I've included Bepe's SSPL app to flash the ROM, so all that you have to do is run SSPL_RUU.exe and flash the ROM.
EDIT: Documents tab in Sense 2.5 version is not activated by default, so you need to activate it in Manage Home Screen tabs.
Enjoy,
Miri
Hi Caste23,
Chainfire drivers are not included in the ROM, you can install them by cab
You can use whatever radio you like, anyway inside the ROM the rilphone.dll is from radio 2.06. I'm using radio 2.05 myself and don't have any problems.

omg........ really cannot stand this!!!!!! Seeing this beauty released, but unable to flash
It will be a long wait till wednesday (only then time to flash....)
For those who flashed, any feedback? Want to know the free storage space, because the stock rom (1.61) only got like 170mb free storage space, way tooo little.....
And with the stock rom i sometimes get a freeze, random. Especially when closing opera, i think it has to do with the cache on storage card?
Oh! Very interesting to see a version with Sense 2.1! (I hate the sms messaging app in 2.5) so I think I'm going to give these a try as well
Thanks for these roms!
Fantastic! Thanks a lot.

SMS not being delivered on HD2's with cooked ROMS - READ THIS IF YOU ARE AFFECTED

Hi all,
As many other people have also reported over the past month or so, I have been having issues with SMS messages sent to my phone never arriving. After a reboot, messages are received again but the ones I missed are never delivered.
The issue seems to occur after the phone ahs been running a length of time without a reboot. Usually more than 12 hours. However I have seen it happen on my phone a few times within 20 minutes of a reboot.
Each time I have tested it has been with a completely clean ROM install with no other applications installed. There doesn't seem to be a specific trigger for the bug either.
So far the only ROMs that seem to not cause problems are ones that do not include HTC messaging client.
I have tried various different ROMs from various different chefs including OZROM and VBNROM.
I also tried MiriROM, Elegancia and EnergyROM. The problem didn't seem to occur on these but I only had them on the phone for a short period of time so it is hard to confirm.
I have tried HSPL 1.66 and HSPL 2.08.
I have tried Radio 2.12.50 and 2.11.50.
I am very interested to know who else is experiencing this issue and if so, what ROM, Radio and SPL are you using?
I am hoping that if we can all pool together we can figure out what the issue is rather than each individual chef trying to sus it out by themselves.
Thanks,
Will
I've tested/used axlor, another simple ROM and energy and have yet to have this problem. Maybe it is a certain manila version that the ROMs share that is causing the problem?
I had this problem with Duttys Leo Nu Era V3 (Redemption) 5.2.21908 [WWE] and Radio 2.12.50.02_2.
I thought it was the network provider that was the problem, but they didn't have any problems, and they couldn't see the missing sms.
I then changed to Duttys Creme de la Creme (V5) 5.2.24623 [WWE] and havn't seen the problem since.
I thought i was going crazy, but found this also. I had been running Ozrom 4.10 with Radio 2.12. I could not be sure about the time, but it would happy quite often. I would end up sending myself an email to see if they were received, if not soft reset. I've currently installed ozrom 4.20, and from what i have read this should be fixed. Crossed fingers.
Confirming the same issue and also calls going dorectly to voicemail even with full radio signal on OZROM 4.81 with radio 2.11.20.50
This occured 4 hours after a reboot. Some otehrs have reported no issues after days.
has everybody tried changing the SMS network settings to GSM Only instead of GSM Preferred? Soft reset then SMS will be instant
This fixed my issues and i tried all the fixes and workarounds.
Hmm that is a very logical suggestion!!! I'm back on EnergyROM at the moment which seems to work OK for me, but if the problem happens, I'll give this a go for sure!!!

Just looked at the settings and in EnergyROM, it is set to GSM Only by default. You may well have found the solution.

I will also try to change to GSM. Have experienced the same problem with sms on Artemis v27 sve. Radio 2.07.51.22_2 Hspl2 1.66
Hi,
I can confirm having problems with my UK o2 Leo when I changed to running radio rom version: 2.10.50.26 and Duttys creme de la creme V2 WWE (Duttys_Leo_Sense_2.5_5.24623.5.3.7_2.14_crème de la crème (V2)_WWE) and Cotulla HSPL 2.08.
I tried a different radio and Dutty rom version but still the problem persisted. The only solution was to return the phone to the stock HTC O2 ROM version:1.72.206.3 with stock radio ROM. At present the SMS settings that you guys mentioned is set to 'GSM preferred' with no issues receiving texts after days of operation without reboot.
I think I will try the latest Dutty rom and recommended radio and report back to see if then changing the SMS setting to 'GSM' also solves the issue.
Hi, changed the settings to Gsm from Gsm preferd but again had problem with sms nor arriving so it was not the solution. My friend has the same Artemis 27 sve and radio 2.07 hspl2 1.66 but he hasnt noticed a problem with reciving sms. Any other suggestions?

If you has this problem with Artemis please write in Artemis thread also so that Sternas sees that Im not the only one with this problem and he finds a solution.
OK This is very interesting. My investigating pointed towards the issue only existing with CleanEX based ROMS but it would seem the issue is more widespread.
Has anyone had an issue using a ROM that DOESN'T have HTC messaging 1.8?
Un update on the SMS receiving issue
I've been running EnergyROM which doesn't have HTC messaging client installed at all with no issues for 4 days now.
I have been having this issue as well, me and my other half have the hd2 running duttys.
Sometimes we wont get each others txt and other peoples. My other half got her sim card replaced and it looks to be ok for her.
We are both on UK O2 network

[Q] Android on stock HTC ROM?

Hey,
Just wondering if anyones tried running Android on a stock HTC ROM?
I'm thinking of re-flashing the original Windows Mobile ROM and seeing if it will be able to launch Android from SD Card?
I've heard someone say it has been known to work?

I will be tonight when I finish work
Thought i'd ask ahead just in case anything I need to know. I want to have the stock ROM just because everything works on it and battery life is pretty good, but then can have Android to play around on
I am just using Android on my Stock Rom for the last 20 days.
Its working fine but the problem is instability in the Working of Android.
I have tried all the versions with different Radio versions.
Among them the best suit is Shubcraft1.4d the latest one and Radio version 2.11.50.20
I've been running Android on my "original" stock TMOUS ROM for about 3 full weeks now. At first, I ran Android with the stock 2.08 radio for about 4 days. For some reason, I rebooted my device and I was never able to get Android to run successfully again. I kept getting WSOD during boot-up and BSOD when trying to wake from sleep.
Finally, I flashed my radio to 2.12, and I've had absolutely no problems. I've seen many complaining that the stock TMOUS ROM causes problems, but I think it has more to do with radio, zImage, and build combinations than WinMo ROMs.
Good luck
just loaded android on stock 1.48.707.2 rom but with updated radio 2.12 version seemed to work o.k but froze a bit here and there seemed useable apart from the crashes

hmm, think tonight i will reflash to stock rom from HTC and then try radio 2.10 as per person further up, try it with various builds then maybe try radio 2.12... i will post my results within the next several hours
I think there are also differences between TMOUS and our European ROMS. Especially because of the Radios. I thought about Flashing back to complete Stock ROM SPL, etc. That way I could never get any problems with the warranty etc. I will try it when I find time.
I tried on the stock ROM and sadly everytime Android would go through the initial boot it would just display some text in the top left, then stop, then the text would slowly "fade" from bottom right to top left and the backlight of the screen remains lit but the phone hangs with nothing displayed
I've now put on the phone:
Windows Mobile ROM: Elegancia E-CHT ROM
Android Version: Mattc Leo + Froyo w/Sense
Radio: 2.11.50.20
I've put a shortcut to CLRAD.exe and HaRAT.exe on my home screen on WinMo. Now I can use Windows Mobile for stability and battery life and working Wi-Fi Tethering etc, but can boot into android for games, apps, smooth interface and most of all, bragging rights(can now ram it into my friends with iPhones faces)
While i'm here now i've changed my set up completely, i'll explain what its like
With this set up, i've found the phone is some wait smoother, the screen still freezes but not for as long as before.
I've found sometimes the interface can sometimes be slightly sluggish but not enough to be a problem
I've called speaking clock and the voice was very clear
Overall very happy and now have the best of Android and the best of Windows Mobile
On my normal WinMo Rom I've used for quite some time now (some weeks before trying the first Android build) everything runs without freezes etc. So far 1 SOD and 2 freezes without a visible reason. And I'm running mainly Android for 5 weeks now. So it seems I was quite lucky to have an Android compatible ROM without having to flash some stripped down ROM. The only thing I'm missing in my ROM are fast boot times but those can be improved by disabling Sense.
I use stock ROM 1.66 ELL but Radio changed to 2.12 (with stock radio didn't work)
I have tried several Android builds and all works as supposed to work.
I have been testing all the Android versions using stock 1.66 WWE (just updated radio) with no problems at all. I have never used a custom WM ROM on my HD2, and have found Android to be on a par with what others have reported. Now running Mattc + Froyo w/Sense 1.6b with no problems so far.
I use stock ROM SVE 1.66 but radio changed to 2.10. I have been testing several builds and they all have worked ok.
The best build for me has been: darkstone HD2Froyo V2.1.
well, i have 1.48 wwe stock rom, never had any issues with any of the android builds...only changed my radio to 2.08.50..
i suggest darkstone's builds..either the hd2froyo or the froyostone series......no issues whatsoever
Yeah maybe it was my combination of radio/build. I'm now using the Mattc Leo Froyo build and the Elegencia ROM and isn't too different from the stock ROM and has most of the apps still installed
No problems running on stock tmoble 1.72 rom just had to update radio to one ending in 50
I’m a newbie at this so apologies if I confuse rather than help.
I bought my HD2 off eBay so don’t know if it’s been flashed or not. I didn’t attempt to flash or change the radio version myself just in case I brick it!! I scared like that
I am currently using ShubCRAFT 1.4d_1GB (hard reset and switched Sense off in WM for quicker boot) and it works perfectly, good battery life and fast .
WM Software details:
OS version: 5.2.2189
Manila version: 2.5.20113626.0
ROM version: Miri HD2 ROM – V4.0 WWE
Radio version: 2.07.50.27_2
To answer your question, and given the above are the standard versions, yes you can run android on ur standard HTC HD2 thanks to the awesome developers.
I am using a windows mobile stock ROM (1.66.405.2) with radio version 2.12.50.02 and mattc leo + froyo w/sense 1.6b Kernel: michyprima 2.6.32.9 #70. I have had no problems with wifi, 3g, sound, or calls. Everything works fine and pretty good battery life and quite stable.

Yours isn't a stock ROM! You have bought your HD2 with a flashed ROM on it.

Thank you Raudi1
I bucked up the courage to install a new radio after I submitted my post, and in the process realised that it had HardSPL on it already! which one of you sold me your 'touched' HD2!?
So I updated my radio version to 2.12.50.02_2 - yes I'm proud

[Solved] SMS function gone after OS build switch

Hey gurus!
I just inserted the official 21913 build (from the Leo 3.14 roms) into my COM2 kitchen. Now I can not send or receive SMS.
(That's with and without HTC messaging client)
I used 21916 and stepped back a little to fix some battery usage issues.
What could possibly cause this?
TIA!
hmmm..I may solve this myself...
packages:
SMS_Providers - Required - SMS Support and
SIM_Toolkit
were absent in the dump I pulled from Leo 3.14
...building and flashing again...
edit: solved - cause was the missing SMS providers package

So you say that 21916 has more battery drain than 21913?
