What a cool feature would be within Mobile 7 on the HD2 is the possibility to auto switch on the backlight of the HW buttons when the screen is turned on. And auto switch off when the screen turns off.

Touch to Turn on screen

I have a XDA Neo and the battery life is not really the best, so I keep in standby (hit the side button so the back light and LCD is turned off). But the only way to get the LCD back on is to hit the power button. Is there a way to get the LCD to come back on along with the back light by just tapping the screen?
You can off just the screen rather than put the phone in standby mode. You can use psShutxp or other program (aplenty) to do it.
But this drain battery. Alternatively, unlock all you button so that you can power up your ppc by any hardware button press. That's what I do. To protect against accident power up, I install S2U2 so that a slide on the screen is required to unlock, else it will go back to sleep mode in x min.

I only have a Hermes and not familiar with your device but if it running Windows Mobile 6 then you probably can just turn off backlight but prevent phone from going into standby mode.
Start -> Setting -> Backlight
In there you can adjust the setting and timer for the backlight
Start -> Setting -> Power
In there you can adjust the setting for standby or disable standby mode.
Disabling the standby but keeping the backlight on timer should turn off the backlight but the LCD screen will stil be active and will wake on the touch.
One negtive thing about touch screen LCD that is putting it in your pocket may keep repeatly turning the backlight back on and drain your battery quickly without you being aware of it.
Bill
I do have a option to turn off the back light only and not put the phone into standby. But my LCD stays on(without the light) which sucks down the battery life.
I tried out sShutxp, but it only turns off the phone and has no option to turn it back on.
Well, I got the next best thing. I assigned the #1 button to Display Switch. So it turns the display on and off.

Honestly I'm deeply grateful for this option!!!
I can always turn on/off the light with powerbutton.
Often I want to put the back light on WITHOUT any change on the screen (like reading ebook when screen-press makes page change). So I just love it how it is.
The problem is that it isnt an option
Actually i do not have a problem with it, i ask here fore smb who has a program, where keeping backlight on doesnt work properly so this option make some problems,
i would love this on fs loox 560, but since xperia cant turn the backlight completely off and i can see everything without turning backlight on and i just dont need it anymore
Thank you two for your replies
Actually you can touch your camera button first to bring the backlight back/prevent backlight fade, then click what you want to do
Hm... It doen't bother me at all. I even like it.

[Q] Buttons backlight

Hi, how I can disable turning off buttons backlights? I want that backlight is on when my screen is on, and turn off only when I turn my screen off-not automatically like it is default. I'm on WP7.8. Is it possible?

[Q] Screen fade after few second - should turn off

After official KK update when I leave my phone with unlock screen it fade down, and instead turning off it stay fade down.
When double tap it, or press power screen turn off.
I'm thinking its some kind of software setting - but can't find any.
I have 15sec till screen turn off but it fade after 11 seconds and stay that way. I tried cover sensors with hand but same thing.
Im on stock KK, D802.
Display > Auto off, bright 60%, Screen Saver 15sec, Screen saver: fade, auto rotate: on, dream settings: off, smart screen: off, smart video: off, led: on
When i turn off screen saver it dosn't fade.
When I change screen saver effect it just fade, so it looks like screen saver is broken in KK ?
Anyone ?

Maybe your buttons are always off because you have it disabled in settings...Go to Settings/Display and wallpaper/Touch key light duration and set it to whatever time you like...

Well then I don't see a problem here...unless your capacitive buttons turn on even though you set them to "Always off" ? The lock screen lag is there, but it isn't that noticeable to me.Sometimes it is, but rarely...
Our you referring to the faint flicker of the captivate buttons even with the setting off,I turned mine off but can see a faint flicker when waking phone up.
I take it no one else has this issue?
@alexowen @Raver27 @Ashatar I have same problem guys, captivate button flickers even when it is turned off when I wake my phone and second problem on LP is lockscreen lag which irritates me, when I lock screen first brightness goes down and then screen turnes off, this is hardware problem not software
I like the capacitive button lights, like it so much i set the time for: 6seconds before dimming. Tho i can understand if it flickers on n off instead of just an on, i would want it off too. The lag on the lockscreen must be like 2-3 seconds? i dont have ir on mine. It's like 1 seconds, which is nothing.
