hi folks,
does the tv out stop when you launch an application that use the camera (like layar) ?
Can sombedy try/verify please?
thxxxxxx
would love to but cant get tv out working at all, im using my nokia 3.5mm tv out cable to connect to tv via 3 red white and yellow connectors, but nothing on my tv screen?
I don't think you can use any nokia cable;
The video goes out thru the 30pin connector, I use the Samsung desktop dock which has a mini hdmi connector on it.
Indeed, tv stops when you enable the camera.
Greatings

Does it have it?
Some sites say the specs do, some don't mention it!
Can't get a definitive answer on that one!
Also, if it does : where can I get a cable?
Thanks guys!
I haven't tried myself, but the iPhone and iPod video do it through the headphones socket. you can get a cable that takes this and makes it a yellow RCA cable. you could try one of them?

Interesting question.
But where are settings for video output?
I'd be interested if anyone can prove this? Re-settings...if this is possible then there could be 2 options.. 1. you will only see the settings when it's in "video out" mode.. or it's auto detected and there are no additional settings (as per audio output... )!
i'm really hoping for this but i'm guessing SE would advertise it to their benefit, and afaik they didn't so my hopes are kept rather low...
I've had a guy telling me that he can use TV out on his X10, using a microUSB-3.5mm adapter and the TV out cable from an N900.
i haven't been able to find an adapter that has the extra connector for TV out to try it.
I've got a 3.5mm jack going to red/white audio connectors. If I put one into the video part of the tv wil it play video or is it down to how its wired in?

For video there should be red, white and yellow.

I think X2 uses the 3.5 mm port for video out, and they didn't advertise that.
Yeah, they did. There's a button for it on the keyboard too.
I'm wondering if it has the hardware, but the options aren't there yet, and they might be added along with the HD video recording update.
well it definitely doesn't work at the moment.. just tested it. I have a video and mono audio cable (Yellow and Black).. and also a video with stereo audio cable (Red, white and Yellow)
did you try via the jack or with a 3.5mm adapter?
directly via the jack.. cable was 3.5mm "headphone" style at one end.. and phono at the other.
I tried that with a cable from an N900, doesnt work.
Still trying to find a micro usb to 3.5mm with video.
It seems there are some out there for LG and HTC, it's just getting hold of one to test it!
Hmmm this is interesting..

Just in case... Did you try testing with the Red or White as the video? Some companies have their own way of wiring things so that you have to buy their cables. Most people don't think of just swapping the colours around to get it to work and just fork out for the new cable.
There is a tv-out cable for the droid incredible:
droiddog .com /android-blog /2010 /04 /incredible-tv-out-video-demo
I wonder if this would also work on the X10 and when it will be available.
Mod edit: not (yet) accessories related, moved to general
I just tried my Sony Mini-DV Camcorder cable, and it does not work, the camcorder cable goes from 3.5mm to red/white/yellow

Hi,
There is a gadget called HTC DG H100 Media Link DLNA Adaptor that connects to any HDMI equipped TV.
The gadget receives media from your phone (or other DLNA capable device) over wifi and streams the content to TV. Worth checking compatibility though, there are concerns over this issue in Engadget's review.
Seems to do exactly what you need, however there is a catch - this thing is pretty expensive, something around 100 EUR.
Wouldn't it cheaper just to buy a wire to plug pc into tv, unless you dont have a computer in which case ignore me
If you are considering to buy a new tv, look for ones that support DLNA. You can use it with defy.
i saw a app on market who promisses tv....was terrible, only mexican canals
it's amaxing.. wanna try out this one..
where i can this software?
android market?
So according to Samsung's website, the HDMI adapter form the Tab and Tab 2 will also work with the Note.
I purchased it and hooked it up. My Note sees the TV and the TV sees the Note, but no matter what I do, the TV screen just shows black.
I tried my other TV and got the same thing.
Anyone else have this problem or know a solution?
The female 30 pin port of the HDMI adapter has to be connected to the power supply. Did you plug it in?
Yes.
Has anyone had it work?
Yes, it worked without any issues for me

Hello!
Just got my Nexus 10 and I tried to connect the Mirco-HDMI out to my LG 42LD420 tv.
However, screen is all black and nothing happens. When I connect to my new PC screen HDMI port the image is mirrored instantly and it just works...
So I guess theres some new standards in Micro-HDMI that my TV doesn't support?
Just wanna clear this problem by making sure its my tv. And btw, other devices works just fine on the tv HDMI port...
Thanks for any info.
Simon
Whenever HDMI has problems it's usually HDCP that is the culprit.
Thanks! Googled some about it and I realize the problem New TV then I guess or try with some adapters to analog input...
I just ran into this the other day myself with a Samsung TV. I thought maybe it was the TV was only capable of 720p or something...
I'd get sound through from the N10, no picture though.
Also tried an MHL cable with my GNex and nothing as well.
Both devices work no problem on either of my PC monitors, and the PS3 has no problem with that cable/port on the TV.
Are there any workarounds?
My quick search indicates that it's possible that it can be cable specific? ie. Will work for some devices but not others? Does that even make sense?
Guys, I have a MHL HDMI adapter connected to my AV receiver (Denon AVR 2312) but the screen on the TV just flicks and no phone display appears. If connect the MHL HDMI adapter directly to the TV - it works. Anybody has tried to connect sgs4 to AV receiver via MHL HDMI adapter? I have 9505 with android 4.3 test version

I have the same Receiver (AU version with slightly better Audyssey) and can confirm it does work. I Have MHL cable plugged into SAT/CBL input. Have a look through your amps settings, specifically the input it's connected to.
What kind of cable is it- Official Samsung or Ebay Yum Cha?

Thanks. I use theoriginal Samsung MHL-HDMI adapgter... (but not original HDMI cabel). I tried all HDMI inputs, including the front AUX one... the phone shows me - Connect the HDMI directly to TV... very strange. I tried to make the HDMI settings in AVR not to upscale, not to convert etc.. But the same result.. Today I asked Denon support - they simply did not know what is this MHL
I have this same issue. Believe it or not, the input has to be an input specified for MHL/HDMI. Yes, it works if you plug directly into the TV, but if you try to pass it through a receiver input it won't go unless the input says so. Some receivers and some blu ray players have designated HDMI inputs that also handles MHL. If you look at the label of these inputs it won't just say HDMI, it will be labeled as MHL/HDMI.
