[Q] Dualboot: Windows Mobile & Android On Xperia X8 - XPERIA X8 General

Sorry my ignorance, but is that possible to install both of the OS on a Xperia x8?
If it so, I would like to know how..
Thanks
(Sorry if my english isn't right, I'm portuguese.. xP)

At the moment impossible (I guess bootloader has to be cracked for that)
and the requirements for WP7 are higher. (For example at least 5MP camera...)

Why buy an Android phone if you want Windows mobile?

This thread is useless, Android >> WinMo 6.5

I love my xperia, thats why I don't what to buy other cell phone..
Anyway, it was just a question, don't blame me if I want to know something more about my phone.. xD

No, it is impossible to do on an android-based phone. You could try running ubuntu though, I'm sure there's a thread for that somewhere, not for the x8 specifically but you can attempt to do it on your phone, won't brick it or anything..

Pointless how? It'd be fun to try getting it working.

Froyo would be more fun
Only advantage from installing windows for me would be Automapa. Its a very good polish gps navigation software. Other than that I don't like windows mobile.

Windows Mobile on EVO 4G

Hope this doesn't piss off any android fans.
Anyone know of a way to install a cooked WM ROM on the EVO? I'm new to this stuff so directions would greatly be appreciated. Thanks
I feel the flames a comin'
Really though dude. Sell the EVO, go to t-mobile and buy an HD2. It's pretty much the same device but with WM.
Seriously why buy an android device if only to put windows mobile?
Anyway no you can't, windows is copyrighted or something of the sort and there for needs to be license etc.
Android is open and free hence why it can be placed on damn near everything.
There had been other threads like this btw.

Unless you want to spend months developing drivers then no, it isn't possible. As someone said, go with the HD2.

Screen Capture without ROOT *** DEVs ***

Why cant we have some application to capture mobile screen shot??
We have an option in Home++ launcher!!
Is there any way to bring this into DEVs notice..
You can use MyPhoneExplorer to capture screenshots. This is certainly not a dev related topic.
http://www.adakoda.com/adakoda/android/asm/
Couldn't be any more straightforward, though I think he means taking Screenshots in-app, on the phone.

Common guys all above ways are known, my point is:
Is it not possible to develop an app which can take screen shot (without Root)??
If YES, how to approach DEVs on this??

It is possible but only with android 2.3.3. Google put a API for taking screenshots for it. right now it's not possible for the arc.

You have to root your phone and then have a chance to brick it
Sent from my LT15i using XDA Premium App
it's highly unlikely that you'd brick your phone after rooting.. it's only really a problem if you start flashing custom kernels or boot images.. even flashing a broken ROM won't brick it if your Boot image is untouched.

but Z answered:
This doesn't help us, the major problem for us is flashing a firmware into touch chip - we cannot do this. The current firmware won't allow to detect anything above buggy dual touch.

As Z said, we need sources to modify libraries, so it's nothing of use at the moment.

And how do you think we can install the driver(s) with a locked bootloader?
If I am not mistaken, we just need the bootloader to be opened and we can install the drivers. Also, I think he said, somewhere in this forum, he has found the driver but then again, he can't test it as the bootloader is locked.

Wtf guys????
I had a winmo with same, if not better specs with x8, and it sucks big time!!!!
and it was htc.
On that phone, they were porting android.. With ****ty battery life, millions of bugs.. But i was trying them..
And it was reasonable.. A winmo device tries android..
BUT IT IS INSANE, AN ANDROID DEVICE TO WANT WINMO!!!!!
Do you guys ask your x8, if it wants that?????
I was coming from a winMo, so i know, and i will stay the hell away, from those devices.
Even the reason, for the new and better version of windows phone(not windows mobile winMo any more?!!), IS ANDROID!!!!!

If exist driver for Exinos platform in Win8 - it is POSSIBLE to write loader to load windows, why not?

You sad it about Omnia, i am speaking about HTC HD2 - can not see connection
I am saying, HTC HD2 was build as Windows Mobile.
One great person (from Russia BTW) - hack boot loader, made OWN loader - MagLDR - that can load Android or Windows Phone 7.
So it is POSSIBLE to somehow run WP on phones, not designed for it.
Though writing such a complicate code, and in such a dangerous place as bootloader (may kill phone forever) very, VERY hard task

Well ATIV line of product is pretty much the WP8 cousin of Galaxy line. If you look closely, Galaxy ATIV is S3 hardware with WP8 installed and some minor changes.
Why? Just look at the upcoming windows phone 8 devices.

That's just silly.
But for those saying that WP8 can be run on the SGS3, I'm afraid you're mistaken. The i9300 uses a Samsung Exynos Quadcore while the ATIV S will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon Dual-Care. There will most likely never be a Windows Phone 8 device with the same SoC found in the international SGS3.
The US versions could have more luck as they indeed do have the same CPU as the ATIV S and thus that a much better chance of getting drivers that work for them also.
