Can I route all my land lines calls through my cell phone? - EVO 4G General

Im thinking I want to run all calls for my small biz through my cell. Sure I can forward the calls from the land line to my cell, but when I use my cell to call a customer i would like to route this though my landline for various reasons such as my biz caller Id showing up on the customers call let I'd when I call.

Google voice calls count toward minutes?

Do calls that come in to the phone from your google voice account count toward the limited minutes on the $69.99 plan or are they included in the unlimited mobile to mobile minutes? Anyone know?
Thanks,
-Rob

Google voice calls count toward your minutes (during peak usage) unless you have google voice show the callers id, and they are calling from a mobile phone. The unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling is all about the phone number that shows up on the caller id.

Awesome...thanks for the info. That was exactly what I was wondering.

That's a really good point that I didn't consider!
I'll be turning the show caller ID setting on now.
Thanks!

Anybody working in Advanced Technical Support?

I need help from somebody in advanced tech support. For the past 2 weeks whenever I call anybody, my number comes up up on their phone as private. I've called sprint 5 times now and been in store 4 times. On my second phone now. Please help.

You can dial *82 before the phone number, and it will unblock it on a call by call basis, otherwise you need to call Sprint to have them completely unblock for all calls.
Issue resolved. After 2 weeks, 5 phone calls and 4 in store visits. The people on twitter @sprintcare came through for me. The *82 worked and helped to narrow down the problem.

Any way that you can use Voice to place calls?

Is there any way to make the Nexus 7 place calls through google voice in the same manner that you can on a desktop computer??
Skype?

I too am interested in this. I use Google voice callback on my phone.... But it doesn't work on the tablet. It looks for the phone.

Google plus $5 Groove IP app turns the Nexus 7 into a speakerphone with unlimited calls and unlimited SMS within North America over WIFI.
There are several threads on this already, but GrooveIP or Talkatone is what you want.

Thanks Talkatone works great!!

Can anyone explain how to setup Google voice?

Will it be free minutes and still have unlimited texts and data with the monthly 4g $30 plan? Will I get calls normally and will it count to my minute usage?

1) as the person above stated you get free unlimited texts in the U.S
2) You can easily use a service like groove ip that lets you use your google voice number for free minutes:

You can use it to call through a VOIP service and make all calls via data (no need for minutes)
If I use all that and port my number i won't end up using mins or texts? Will I get it as a normal text message(like in the message app) and will I get calls(with groove) in the normal calling app?

Like the other posters said; free calls with VOIP and free texts in the US with data plan. Just run through the GV installer and when it switches to the phone app settings hit Voicemail and change it to GV if you want GV as your primary voicemail instead of the carrier. Can you look at my thread once you set it up?

If you're using a VOIP app like grooveip your calls go through the VOIP app. I've noticed that with the N4, JB 4.2, and the GV app that was released today that texts are behaving differently I can send and receive through the default messaging app. Previously had to use the GV app exclusively for free text and not showing my sim#. Waiting on some other users for confirmation...
Nice I'm looking to get that $30 tmo monthly 4G so texts and data won't be a problem. Just worrying about those 100mins on that plan so if using groove dosent use mins I'm good.

Nexus 4 wifi calling

I bought a nexus 4 from Google it does not have wifi calling. I use the pre paid minutes plan with t-mobile.
Is it possible to get wifi calling enabled on this phone somehow?
I don't have much of a tower signal at my house in the country.
Thanks

It's not possible right now.
Have you tried talking to Tmobile? I seem to remember someone saying they had a device that plugged into your router but provided a cell signal. I could be wrong though.

Other nexus devices
With the news that the S4 and HTC One will be sporting Google's vanilla OS, I guess neither of those will be able to use wifi calling either. Seems like a waste.
One would think that t-mobile would want to correct this to gain customers. I do get a strong ATT signal at my home in the country so if I go that route t-mobile not only loose my business but also of my daughter and granddaughter.
Oh with our unlocked phone's it's easy to switch.

On a prepaid plan, tmobiles WiFi calling uses minutes. Get the Vonage app for free outgoing calls over data.

But no incoming calls which I need. T-mobile goes both ways. There are any number of apps that do out going calls via wifi but not in coming.

Try looking at GrooveIP on the Play store. That's what I'm using and it works. It basically uses your Google Voice account and forwards the calls via data (wifi).
If that doesn't work try Talkatone(?) I've never even looked into that app, but it's just a name I hear mentioned in threads like this. Actually, I think it uses Google Voice to forward the calls too so that might not be a good solution if GrooveIP doesn't work. Anyway, hope you find a solution that works.
For those of you who want the best quality out of your $30 smartphone plan, I made a 12-part video tutorial showing how to do it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9DzN1Pu6-Q&list=PLE_de-PBwrTSUMm-Y48aiOOHt_YyT69t0
It's much better than GrooveIP, Vonage, Talkatone, Pbxes.org, and everything else, especially those with the "one big green button" solution.
This method gives you HD Voice (G.722 codec), bettery battery life, and much better options for logging/blocking/recording. You can even set up hold music. Yup, I said hold music.
It used to be difficult to set up until I made it as clear as the nose on your face in the video tutorial (with actual commentary instead of techno music).
Spread the word if you do it and it works out for you. I believe everyone deserves high quality and limitless VoIP WiFi/4g calling.
