With NAND now on the HTC HD2 how can I create custom splash screens? The old custom RUU method no longer works.
Thanks.

Hi ANANSKY
Why modify the boot logo for CHINESE ROM? and How to recover the original boot logo for the ROM.
origianl picture
Hi Andy,
Anansky is doing us a great favor by providing a ROM to recover the space claimed by ExtROM. (It's even more that he modified ROM for languages that he doesn't even know ) Shouldn't you be more polite when asking people for help? (Or simply don't use it if U don't like the splash screen)
Do a search on this forum and U will found a way to change the splash screen to whatever U like.
I don't think he's being impolite. he might just not be well versed in writing in english or something. anyway chill man we are all here to help each other and I am sure he appreciates anansky efforts with regards to the 27mb fs, maybe he just got used to his splash screen.
I've recently been goofing around with boot screens and here is the thread for it. it is very easy todo, so have fun. http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=12898&highlight=splash+screen
I Flashed the Hyper Rom just to test. Now that Splash Screen wont change even after a Task 29. I have A number or roms back and forth but that splash Still stays at the Hyper Rom Logo...
Plz someone help. LOL Sorry but i did a Search and couldnt find anything
put stock rom back on then go to a custom rom for a rom that doesn't change it kumar is a good one.
Yea i figured Stock would help But is there no other way
sure there is.
Splashscreens flash exactly like radios and roms. They have their own memory space so arent affected by rom flashing or task29.(unless the new rom has one included, all stock do, and some cooked do.)

Hi,
i have to send my HD2 to the Repair service (because of the touchscreen problem from the first devices) but i had a custom-ROM on it..
Now my question:
how can i remove ALL signs of the Custom-ROM so that HTC cannot say that it is because i had unofficial ROM on it?
I have flashed the original ROM from my SD-Card...
is there something else i need to do?
Nope that's it, it's ok .
Did you check bootloader?
If it's not saying CotullaHSPL you can return it.
@Laurentius26
if I make Hspl, and then for warranty reasons I return to stock loader, can they discover that I was using cooked ROMs at any time?
Thanks...
Nope, if you flash factory stock from storage card, SPL and OS are restored to stock.

Hi all,
I was wondering if you guys could help me getting Android on my HD2.
I've been digging this forum for several weeks now, there is so much information that I don't know what to do!
I've got a European HD2, not the T-Mobile one. The reason I would like to have Android running on it is because Windows 6.5 hangs quite often and it's too slow in my opinion.
After finding out how to check my SPL version, I found that I have 3.03.0000. Is it actually possible to run Android on it?
I've also seen some topics about dual boot and switching back and forth between Android and WM. That's not a requirement for me, I actually prefer just running Android without having the opportunity for WM.
Some specification which I don't know it's useful, but I'll post them anyway;
- OS Version; 5.2.21913 (21913.5.0.94)
- Manila-Version; 2.5.20181527.0
- ROM Version; 3.14.404.2 (04666) NLD
- ROM Date; 10/06/10
- Radio Version; 2.15.50.14
I would appreciate your help a lot!
Kind regards,
Jerome
Flash from SPL to HSPL might going to work, but work better with custom ROM along with the HSPL.
Some user reporting that they can run Android with their stock ROM and SPL, but I don't know. Try it. You should wait a few minute for the first boot....possible at least 5.
If it don't work, then I hope you use the statement I mention in the first sentence.
Could you tell me what do you and what SPL and HSPL is exactly?
I don't have much knowledge yet, but I'm willing to learn!
Thank you for your reply anyway!
If you are willing to learn then you best option is to actually read the threads that already exist instead of creating a pointless one.
First go into the HD2 Rom thread and learn how to get HSPL on your phone and a custom rom and updated radio.
After yu have done that come back to the Android sections and learn how to boot android.
First.. Check what ROM you have currently. By the looks of it with radio 2.15.50 you look to have the latest ROM from HTC installed. Unfortunately there is no HSPL Software for the latest ROM from HTC so you will have to downgrade your rom which will let you use HSPL3 (Linkage)
SPL is the "software" on your phone that stops you flashing non HTC Roms. You use a utility called HSPL (above) to install HSPL on your phone to enable you to flash a custom rom.
Once you have HSPL on you can them flash a custom rom from the forums. I use the OzDroid 1.11 as it has been very stable at running android.
Once that is Flashed to your phone you will need to choose which android version you require. I use MDJ FroYo HD V4.3. Download it and copy the ANDROID folder onto your SD Card.
Re-boot OzDroid and you will be presented with the Choose screen. Windows or Droid. Select Android and it will boot into android. You will need to wait 5-15 mins for android to boot on first run.
Hope this helps.

man its not that easy, if someone has little background knowledge in all this all the unfamiliar information and new terms can be too confusing. Sometimes you just have to ask questions...
...although i do understand that there are probably thousands of posts started by asking the same exact questions ("which is the best android rom for HD2")and that can actually make it that much harder to wrap ones head around.
Do you need WM ROM, or can u run just Android?

Q: Do you have to load a "custom rom", I assume you mean WM ROM?
Isn't there a way to load Android straight onto the EPROM Memory of your phone, so that only Android runs and not the full WM in the background? Surely that would save RAM and battery?
I found this thread useful, also trying to wade thru the info.
Thanks

no there isnt a way to do this yet without WM on the phone as well.
however, the "full WM" is not running in the background, its just needed to get the linux module started and then boot Android. Nothing is really "running in the background" but it is running from the sd card.
hope some of this helps.

Is there then a way to get both android and WM on the ROM of the HD2. Since its about 512MB, there won't be space for much else, but that should save the battery, since android wont be running from the SD card.
5haddex;
Thank you so incredible much on helping me here! I've got OzDroid running now, it looks awesome already, now I need to find my preferred Android built, but that shouldn't be a problem.
Again, thank you so much!
I've got OzDroid up and running now, works great too!
But when I try to boot into Android with the provided CleanDROID, or with CLRCAD and hared, the phone hangs after showing the command line;
Jumping into custom kernel...

Even when I let the phone untouched for 6 hours, it won't do anything.
I've tried several Android builds, also trying to "repair" startup.txt with CleanDROID which gives me an error too.
Any thoughts? Maybe try another custom rom? Any tips or links on that one?
Cheers
edit;
what about the EnergyROM with Sense 2.5 Reference?

Anybody please?
I would appreciate your help a lot!
Different Android builds don't fix the problem too. HSPL 2.08 running..
I've changed my radio to 2.10, the HD2 proceeds to the HTC booting logo, but stays there for an hour now...
Any ideas?
Can anyone please help me put android on my HD2? I usually never have any issues updating rom's ect, this one proves to be a beast. I have downloaded a few and put them on my phone and all I get is a frozen screen that says HTC IN GREEN. Please help! I think I may be missing something.
HSPL Version? Radio? WM ROM? Android ROM?
also, wrong section. :|
Post your Q here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=813
android on the hd2
you dont need hspl's, custom roms or radios to run android in the us. i have tried every method out there and the most stable set up is stock tmous 3.14 rom and 2.15.50 radio, stock spl 2.10.000. no robots, no problems with screen freezes or anything like i did when i had all the custom crap on my phone. just an fyi...
First of all, this is the wrong section. There's an Android Q&A one here.
Now, secondly, I'll try to answer your question regardless:
-Not all Radio's work with Android, the original one doesn't. I personally use a 2.12 version.
-Android takes a LONG time to boot. Initial boot can easily take 15 minutes, subsequent ones will still take a long time. Most Android ROMs use the white backdrop with green HTC logo as a splash screen while the kernel loads.
-You shouldn't try to flash these ROMs, you load them from your SD card.
