i cant wait for a stock android. looking forward to cmod6.1
dont hold your breath this one is going to take a bit of time to develop...look for the thread by hansmrtn he is taking on the task.. for the time being load stock samsung rom, and check out the sre thread.. you wont be upset with the outcome.. they really did a nice job putting it all together..
Yeah me too mate. I really hate the samsung contacts list and the lack of the scroll tab and other things like that.
Are the stock Galaxy S roms basically the rom without AT&T crap? I might have to try those out, if they are relatively bug free.
Hansmartn is making progress on the vanilla rom, he said last night that he think he got data working, alpha build might be just around the corner

Since my rom isn't out yet I've decided to move the thread here. I'm leaning towards the miui interface as of right now and am testing a miui rom to get acquainted with it and familiar with the guts of it. I got to say that it's very zippy. I had thought about putting together a senseless rom that would be stripped of all unnecessary bloatware and good on battery life not to mention fast. After testing miui for the past day, I'm leaning more towards miui. Out would be relatively easy to compile a rom based on the stock base, but it wouldn't be fresh. I'm still waiting to hear back bout using the name "Light Speed" before I actually make it the official name. Although the idea is to make it light with speed. Essentially you would have to install all your favorite apps but the crucial apps for the operation of the rom would have to remain. Afa launcher and lock screen, I'm still deciding and am open to suggestions.

Are you planning on compiling from source, or pretty much ripping and tweaking different aspects of ROMs into a new compilation?
Hey, I would like to help with development on this. I believe you're looking for collaboration? I've some experience theming, and a little with compiling.
I was thinking MIUI with Rosie? That would be cool

I'm not familiar enough with compiling. Probably just ripping and tweaking for now. Don't want to bork someones phone and need to get a rom going that's stable and reliable first. Maybe after MIUI releases a source code we can cook something up from scratch. Rosie is nice but it would have to be heavily modded to get something outstanding and original.

Just wanted to give an update. Still testing miui by nix right now. I'm probably going to get going with a sense based rom. Work has been hectic. Working twelve hour might shifts seven days a week. It will be a light and fast rom. Still have some things to consider for a miui rom.

Hi Future Galaxy S II users. I am webstar1, a well known dev in the galaxy s forums. I don't know when this phone is coming out but I will need beta testers as I will make a rom for u lot carrying on ultimate rom to its successor. My contract doesn't finish until 12 months so I wont be getting one. So I need 2 or 3 future users who will beta test for me until I gather the funds (yea im saving donations not spending on drinks) for the phone. U don't need to know anything other than know how to use clockwork recovery (when it comes out for u lot ) . So yea good day everyone.
i know ill be grabbing this phone so hit me up
sounds promising! PM sent
Sounds good, I look forward to anything the devs want to work on
Ok then
I would also be willing to help, I've beta tested Roms in the past.

I don't do porting and don't expect a stable release if it. The first galaxy still has a alpha port.

I plan on getting this phone, though I'll wait a week or two after it's out in the UK (to read reviews and such, make sure everything's okay!) and I'd be happy to try out ROMs, I love flashing!
I'll help you!

I will be getting this phone so add me in as a Beta Tester.
Hey guys, I'm looking for someone that would want to start working on a ROM with me. Nothing special, just a good, stable, smooth and fast Sense ROM with some added features. I've built a few personal ROMs from AOSP but I'm new to this Sense thing. If you're interested send me a pm!

If there's a thunderbolt leak I'd say start off that while using the latest gingerbread leak to fix anything we need. I'd like to see a good solid 2.0/2.1 Sense rom that's not from a GSM device or from a Sprint device.
Maybe remove all bloat or move it to where it can be uninstalled by the user. Its hard to find a good clean rom that just works. Once we have a solid base then mods to the rom can be made (as a seperate install)
This is assuming the thunderbolt has a gingerbread release with sense 2.0/2.1...

That sounds like exactly what I'm looking for, I'd gladly test. I've tested for ihtfp69 for some time, so I know my way around.
So here you have it. I recently just picked up a Note 8.0 and so far liking it. So I decided to add the Note family to our source code. So far its running pretty well. Everything seems to be working. We will be making the jump to 4.4 soon, but since we build off android Master we have yet to make the jump. There still some upstream bugs with their master.
We are not CM, but more of a true aosp experience with a few bells and whistles.
So if anyone would like to try it out let me know and I will gladly post a zip.
Thanks to codefireXperiment, Sbrissen, Bigrushdog, Synergy and a cast of others.
I could try this. So do you need any bug-reports or something like that? I'm currently using CM 11.0, but the bugs are killing me so I'd be happy to test out a new rom

If you find something that FCs, then yes a logcat would be needed. I will post something up tomorrow. I want to do a little more work on it. Include CM SPEN app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tushar.cmspen&hl=en) and a few other things. But so far so good. I will be using it all today.
Can i test it. You rom suport opengl 3.0?
Ill give it a try.
I would like to test the rom as well.

Sure thing guys... I will work on some stuff tonight.

this sounds perfect, AOSP with SPen usability.
sign me up, i'll test it out too and gladly submit logcats for any FCs
Is this still possibly happening? Would love to help test.
I would be happy to give it a go and give you some feedback.
