What's the leanest ROM out there for a Sprint Hero? By lean, I mean no Sense UI, no Sprint apps, but still full Android, all the hardware works, Market works, etc.
Is there one? If there is more than one, what seems to be people's faves?

That would be AOSP 1.6, and you need to flash the google bits as well.

The most current, leanest rom is Darchdroid, it's about as vanilla as you're gonna get.

But really, Regawmod is pretty good with the lack of things installed and being lean with still having sense...
Try Ic3Rom. It looks exactly like AOSP but has the speed of DamageControl and the stability of a HTC rom.
I just finished installing darthvanilla. it's pretty slick. thanks

So far it's pretty sweet. Been using it a day now. The only thing it seems to be missing that is of any consequence to me is the voicemail downloader app. There is no YouTube app either, but the .apk is linked in the thread for the ROM if you're into that. Myself not so much.

Personally, I'm a fan of Nebula (link in my sig). The dev is a software professional who requires a stable platform for his work and as such its quite a stable ROM. I love it and if she wants something slick looking (not to say its not already slick looking) you can add the gingerbread theme (also in my sig). In my opinion, its the best combination out there for speed and stability. Good luck in your choice whatever it may be!
I like the setup in my sig. Very nice looking rom and I love the startup animation when booting it up. Whichever one you go though you won't be disappointed. They are all great in their own way.

Hey guys
Can someone recommend me a stock desire build for Euro HD2 that uses EXT partition? (that I can use as daily driver)
Ive tried Desire HD builds but are too laggy for Euro HD2.
Im using a CM7 build at the moment but fancy a bit of Sense!
Cheers
You should try the build in my sig, its great. No lag for me and im a EU HD2 user.

Only very slight gfx glitches and htc camcorder doesnt work you need to use another. Its the best sense rom ive used to date with exception to the stripped version by MarkinuX.
Why dont you use search and search for topics in nand section with "desire" in title, then try some?
Cheers. Just wanted a basic, dependable Desire base.
Will search some more..

hey guys iv been rooted since day 1 and iv been on KINGS ROM since day 1 as well!
but i want to get off of kings rom and try out new stable rom. what are the good ones out there?
If you never use your 4G, then MIUI is the ROM for you. It's fast, stable, and energy-efficient despite all the "bugs" people ramble about. It's also very customizable and updates every Friday to ensure you always get the latest versions and bug fixes.

I can't wait to get my hands on a stable ICS rom. It will just give us EVO owners that much more shelf life.
Question, I know there is an Alpha for ICS in the works right now. Do the developers already have everything they need to develop the rom or does a phone like the Galaxy Nexus which will have ICS stock have to come out first?
As for a good current rom, I'm running Mik 2.61, very clean, stable and great battery life. It's a Sense rom, different themes are available.

Hi guys,
Can you suggest me a fast-stable 2.1 Sense Rom (+rooted) for HTC Hero ?
I'm going to give the phone to a friend, so i would like it to have the smoothest and most stable rooted ROM.
Thank you

Have you considered flashing a 2.2 ROM instead? Reason why I say this is because you'll find more apps that are made for Android 2.2 and above.
There are a number of very stable 2.2 ROMs that provide excellent performance and battery life. For example, I like Floyo 1.2 with Flykernel 13. Floyo can be themed to look like Gingerbread if want. (I know this not within the scope of your question)
EDIT: I guess I should give you a 2.1 suggestion. Try Heroine (it comes with Flykernel 13 too)

You might try Elelinux Sense 2.1 as well. Worked flawless for quite some time. Although you might want to use SetCPU to overclock it (remember to set a screen-off profile with lower speed as well).
