hi. i need a new LCD for my dezire z, after searching and finding very little info, all i can come up with is these people:

has anyone bought one in the uk and replaced it successfully? if so, what company did you buy it from, and is it a genuine htc part, and also is there any way of telling if it really is a genuine htc part?

does anyone know if the G2 LCD is exactly the same as the Desire Z?
apparently HTC have not released parts for the desire Z yet over here..

Does anyone know where i can source an actual HTC-branded Housing for the Universal? I've been given an O2 XDA Exec FOC from uncle and as the screen's cracked i thought i'd be as well replacing the case as i'll be unlocking it as well
Prefer that to the i-mate JasJar housing - JasJar sounds too like a Star Wars character i prefer not to mention!
Anyone ideas? All i can find is the O2, T-Mobile, Vodafone & Orange housings

AFAIK there's no such thing as an HTC Universal, as HTC used to sell all their phones to other companies at that time. There was no real HTC brand yet. The closest to an HTC Universal would probably be an I-mate or Qtek one, as these companies used to to have the closest ties to HTC.

when i bought my HTC HD last year, i got a wonderful pouch with it. Unfortunately with the HD2 i didnt. Do HTC do a pouch for the HTC HD2?
If so, where can i buy one from? it needs to be the same material as the one that comes in the box for htc hd.

The official HD2 one is muuuuuch nicer than the HD one - it's leather (ish).
Some providers aren't supplying the pouches (for some unfathomable reason), so you're left getting yourself one. If you want one like the HD pouch, then you'd have to buy it anyway. There's a "cases" thread in the Leo accessories forum. Just have a look in there - it's full of suggestions.
Incidentally, who did you get it from?

I've seen a number of online retailers selling it so just search for the code S510.
I don't use mine, you can buy it (brand new and unused) for £6 including p&p within the UK. Paypal etc fine.

Odd, I got mine from TMobile UK too and they didn't give me a pouch. When I spoke to HTC Tech Support (about a different matter) they said it was TMobile's request that their HD2's came without pouches. Tight fisted...

as you see from my profile I'm an italian guy. I recently came to USA to visit my girlfriend and I found on the Marketplace an T-Mobile HD2 for very cheap which definitively is in very bad conditions planning to fix it completely and making it a new phone.
So I found a new housing here which I guess would be for a T8585.
I heard T-Mobile model has a 2mm difference somewhere... so would that be a problem?
Cnn.cn has two different housings for the T8585 and the T-Mobile version... so.. I wouldn't want to pay three times the price! Do you know any better place to find it for cheaper?
Also... do you know if the digitizer is melted with the screen or if it is splitted from that?
I also heard there are two different digitizer connectors from the T8585 and the T-Mobile version... is the T-Mobile version the one which requires soldering :S?

can't really help, but I am in the same boat. Replaced my digitizer with an ebay one and it kinda sucks. Looking for a more responsive one. I am guessing everything you buy will be made in the same factory and sold under different names/ places. Can't imagine there are a lot of places making HTC10 screens right now.
