However, I'm wondering if anyone has a decent suggestion on a way to completely suppress the swipe-lock in favor of the pin-lock.
This would be for CyanogenMod-7.
It's rather annoying to have to swipe just to enter a pin.

Is there any way to change the slide to answer feature to something like just push a button to answer? Sometimes i dont slide it all the way and it gets annoying
bump? anyone
i second this bumping.
Agreed. Not a big fan of "slide to answer".
i guess sliding is the safest so as not to accidentally activate your phone from standby mode.... like answer a call from someone you are hiding from

unlock the screen is straight forward, how to lock it is the question! anybody can help?
A quick press on the power button will do the trick!
haha...tt's simple...tx a million!
Yeah! No problem!
Don't want to create a whole new thread for this as its probably a simple answer, but is there a way to lock the screen with numbers or something similar to the Sense UI? I just ask as I haven't seen any security on the lock screen so anyone can get in? There must be a way to lock it so only you can open it?

Well yeah. You can set a lock pattern that works in the same way. Kind of. It's in settings -> Security and at the top!
This is not a nexus 10 specific question, so sorry if there was a better place for this.
I just bought and installed HD widgets' and its great. The issue is that it has now disabled the smart cover capability of my case. Now opening the case just takes you to the lock screen, a touch annoying as you might imagine.
Due to the nature of the search terms, Google is being quite useless, focuses on adding widgets to the lock screen, not on how to sort it with a smart cover.
A anyone know how to sort this out? Many thanks.
Based on your post, I'm assuming that you want no lock screen of any kind? You want to just open the cover, and have it on the homepage? If that's correct, I may be able to help. I have HD widgets as well, but never noticed a problem because I had a pattern lock set up already.when I went to change it, the options under security for None, Slite, and Face unlock were grayed out. What I had to do to fix it was to go under Settings, Security, and clear all credentials. After this I was able to disable the lock screen. I haven't noticed any adverse effects. Everything seems to be working fine.
Hope this helps.
Anyone know of a simple way to add a screen lock to the Nexus player similar to a phone where you can enter a pin to gain access to the device? I see the parental controls, but that still allows you into the device. Would be cool to have face recognition or voice recognition to unlock nexus.
Thanks,
It really depends on whether the apis are there or not. Try side loading next lock screen
Good:
I apologize first since I am using the Google translator with what I hope you can understand my question, and if the question is already formulated in another thread, but I have not seen it.
I put you in situation:
The blocked phone, I receive a notification (Telegram, GMail, WhatsApp, etc), and the screen turns on thanks to the Ambient Display, but once it's on, and even if I give it a tap, or two, I can not access the notification.
I must unlock the phone (with the fingerprint or the power button), to access them.
In other terminals (Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Mate 9, and even in the Galaxy Note 2), you could interact from the screen of the lockscreen, where, and clicking on the received notification, you accessed the application.
Is it a bug? Is this typical of Nougat ?. Is there any way to solve this?
I have tried having the terminal without pattern, without fingerprint, just with sliding, etc, but it does not let me access them from that screen.
Is that if you have the terminal on the table, to say something, and you get an email, being able to access it without having to pick up the phone, or put the fingerprint, or give the power button to access it, was very comfortable. Two touches on the notification in the lockscreen meant that you could access it.
Thanks for the answers and possible solutions.
Not sure if bug or feature but there is no way to change this as far as i know.
I guess it's a bug, it used to work as OP expects on Nexus 5X 7.1.2. Ambient display on Mi A1 is quite buggy (screen freezing), I don't really recommend using it until fixed.
Thanks to both for responding.

I thought that this problem only happened to me.
The truth is that I do not understand why they can not enable this factory option. The only way I have been able to interact with the arrival of notifications and the lockscreen so far, has been using external programs, such as the Heads Up Notification.
That's right. Without being able to put any kind of security, since if you put it, when you tap the screen, it asks for the pin, since the smartphone understands that you want to unlock it.
o see if in future updates, or with the supposed arrival of Oreo, implement this comfortable action.
Or at least let the end user choose it as being able to open / interact with notifications from the lockscreen.
