overclocking app plz help me - Droid 2 General

Is there an OC app for liberty or anything that I can install that's like the overclock things u can download and install through fission rom manager? So that there preset and all u do is install it

You can use my DOOverclock tool. It isn't an app, but it works.

My personal favorite is Droid Overclock from the market.
It costs $1.50 but is worth every penny. Gives you more than just overclocking options. Just my 2 cents.

Agreed. Well worth the money. The best app I ever paid for.

I also use Droid overclock very nice app. Well worth the money. Donating to very worthy people

The only thing about setcpu is that you still have to load a custom kernel module to overclock. Without the kernel module, you can only scale up to 1ghz. Droid Overclock edits the module for you with presets up to 1.45ghz which is very convenient and user friendly.

I'm pretty sure Liberty 1.0 has overclock script in it. If you go into terminal emulator and type:
Code:
su
overclock.sh
it should pop up and you can change slot levels higher than 1GHz.
But now that Liberty 1.5 has the native overclock it shouldn't be a problem.

I use Droid 2 Overclock AND Quickclock.
I use Quickclock to calibrate then import into D2O. Basically Quickclock automatically calibrates YOUR phone and gives you safe over and under clock ranges. Then save the profiles....export....then import into D2O.
My D2 is clocked at 1.305GHz

What are some great kernals???

I have the latest blur update os.... its rooted with Z4root.... when I use setcpu to overclock it was maxed out to 1.0 ghz.. what are some great kernals so I can overclock to 1.2 which I hear makes a world of a difference on the droid x

dont think DX has any kernels as of yet because of the locked bootloader.
i think there is an app you can buy on the market though that will overclock the dx
believe they modify the kernel after startup, not really sure cause i dont use it
1ghz is fine for me..
thikn its made by jrummy, try typing it in on the market see if it comes up

Also all chips are not created equal. They maybe in spec's but not all can achieve higher OC. I'm can't go over 1150 GHZ while some can go way higher. Speed does come with a price mileage may vary.
As suggested the JRummy app works great for me plain & simple.
check out some deblured Rom's if you want speed also there are some blended Blur Rom's coming soon to a phone near you.
Check JRummy out... Great program

Setcpu vs. Droid Overclock for xoom

Which program is better to use to overclock the xoom, Setcpu or Droid Overclock?
What are the pros and cons of each program for those that have used both? When I get my xoom, I will need to download one of these programs and can't decide which one to go with.
I am not sure the pro's and con's I use SetCPU and it has done a good job using the Tiamat's kernel. I haven't had any of the issues others have seen such as hard boot on 1500. I have not used Droid Overclock or Badass Governor (bad ass? can't remember and I am too lazy to look it up.)

[Q] DX GB Bloat Removal & CPU Management

Two questions regarding rooted and de-odexed Gingerbread for the Droid X.
One, what's safe to freeze in Titanium Backup? I don't really use, well, ANY part of Blur and my Launcher of choice is LauncherPro or Launcher7, so I definitely don't need that. So throw 'em at me: I will use my mighty sword of Titanium(backup) to freeze anything not necessary, so long as it doesn't break my system.
Second, what do y'all use for your CPU? Back on Liberty 1.5 I just used Quickclock Advanced, but that doesn't seem to cut it anymore. Quickclock Advanced? Droid Overclock? Set CPU? CPU Tuner? Any suggestions are welcome.

[Q] Overclock/Undervolt Procedure

I've been trying to find the best procedure to oc/uv my Droid X running rooted stock GB. Currently I'm using Milestone Overclock to adjust the max frequency and set vsel, as well as SetCpu for custom profiles. Milestone Overclock appears to only allow modifying vsel for the max frequency (rather than a distinct vsel for each frequency).
Is it sufficient to use Milestone's single vsel modification? Or should I be using another OC app like QuickClock for the best uv results?
Thanks for any help
I only use Milestone. Works for me. Battery life is fine.
I'm running at 1300MHz and vsel of 69.
Phone is stable and does not reboot itself.
I've used Droid Overclock an it has worked excellent.

I also recommend Droid Overclock. Very easy to use and the product is great!
I have been using JRUMMYS droid o/c and it worked well on froyo, it still works on GB but doesn't seem to have the same effect as it use to. I still like it for all the other features though. I have tried and tried to use milestone o/c and no matter what the settings it locks up my phone. Not sure why, I guess I am one of the lucky ones that can't o/c my cpu very much.
Thanks for the great responses. I've been experimenting the last few days with Milestone OC and the phone is regularly freezing up, and requires a re-boot. I expected this to go away as I lowered the cpu frequency or raised the voltage, but nothing has worked very well.
I am beginning to suspect launcher pro may be the cause. So I've gone back to the stock launcher and will see if the rebooting problems persist when overclocking.

Hi guys. Help with overclock please! :(

I don't know anything about overclocking on my Samsung Vibrant T959. I tried to.. I installed the Glitch Kernel HL. with CM7. Can't get to 1.2 ghz at all. I don't know what to do... Do i have to mess with the mVs at all? Please help I'd appreciate it. Anyone recommend an app to use to overclock? I'm using Voltage Control atm... Please help. Thanks.
Set cpu in my opinion is the best app to overclock.
Simply Honey 5.0 w/ 1.2 Bullet kernel. Badass Rom \m/
Agreed, setcpu would be your easiest bet.
Just install, open, slide the bar to 1200 or whatever you want.
I would recommend putting a widget on your home screen.
Makes it really easy to see what you're set on, and easy to modify.
Also, you can create profiles, like under clocking to 400 while the screen is off.
Install quadrant to get a rough idea of how the overclock is according affecting performance.

I disagree with these 2... voltage control is fine... and oc is very straifhtforward... get oc kernel, use oc app to oc... forget wut they said about the profiles, from my exp, they only make things worse. Just oc and dont touch mvs
Sent from a cell tower to the XDA server to you.
Antutu's CPU master is another OC alternative for ya, if you are too cheap to spend money on SetCPU that is.
setcpu. best so far for me

Agreed! Antutu does have OC capabilities and is a better Benchmark app IMHO

- Agreed! that messing with voltage is more trouble than its worth.
- Disagree! that profiles make things worse. It really depends on the settings. You should never UNDERclock your "max" to anything less than 800mhz.
For example: I have 1 profile set, its a High temp profile. When the phone reaches 125F setcpu resets to 800mhz(max) - 200mhz(min). Until the phone cools to under 125F then setcpu bumps it back to 1.7Ghz(max) - 200mhz(min).
Trust me this happens often and I'm glad I have that set, haven't had any problems with it.
Setcpu seems to be easy for me!
