I applied ryanzas lag fix and want to remove it quickly. Will formatting my phone via settings remove it? Does this remove root because I want to keep that.

What version of his lag fix did you apply? You could just use the unlagfix option if you used the market version or the one click.
I did the original the one that required a computer. Can't get to a computer for like couple of days and wondering if I can just remove it doing that method.
Yes formatting your phone.still remove it

I believe if you download the lagfix from the market, you can uninstall it. It gives me an option to remove it.
Search for "lag fix" and you'll find it in the market.

This will only work for lagfix V1+ If I remember correctly. I had installed the one click alpha version via adb and wasn't able to uninstall using the OCLF app. I had to do a complete wipe to get rid of it. The unlagfixme didn't work for me. I installed the app to make life a lil more simple after my wipe.

Do a titanium back up of all of your apps, flash the vibrant stock firmware, or even the new leaked one found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780935
Than use titanium to restore all your stuff, and you will have successfully removed it no matter the version you had used.
I have to go back to odin? You sure the format won't work?

If you did the computer one, you can undo it the same you you applied it, by clicking the file that says "undolagfix" or something similar.
I also installed OCLF but the market version and then I undone everything... But I noticed I still have update.zip should I delete it? Did stock vibrant come with update.zip?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
if you go back to the zip file theres is a unlagfixme.bat in there just do that while ur phone is in debug mode

Any idea how long it is supposed to take? I tried to use that and after "allowing" the application from supeuser permissions, it just kinda froze for about 10 minutes, so I rebooted my phone and then i bricked and the phone stayed on a black screen after the samsung G boot screen
Tried Z4 root - does not work on Froyo! Whats the best way to root ka6/ka7 2.2?
I need to gain access to Titanium so I can resyore my DRM rights to Avatar, plus other apps.
Thanks
Why dont you just use Whitehawkx DoedexedKA7 it already rooted .
1clickroot works on this. It will use the Rage method

SuperOneClick is the easiest way to root on 2.2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
Plug in the phone, click root.
Couldn't be much easier.
Myself and a couple of others lost haptic feedback and the back button after doing that, but a simple reboot fixes that for good.

This.
I didn't lose haptic but it is much less intense after the update. It was faint before I rooted and it didn't change after rooting.
So the rage version of the root works. My only question is, why does TITANIUM BACKUP think that I am NOT rooted. I also tried reinstalling SU from the market and TI is still saying Root access: FAILED.
You could just flash masters 2.2.7.1 and flash KA7 mobem, you get a great rom with root and great battery life this is what I would do save some time.

I have the same problem but its not that titanium doesn't find root rights it is because busybox now says it needs 1000kb to reinstall and titanium will not light up without it....My wifes phone is exactly the same way...KA7 through Odin then Super one click root??
i took a hammer and i hammered the root in it tellin the phone im the man , try but watch out it might brick

Probably Odin or maybe flash it using your phones download mode.....find the Rom and its posted forums and read them sir. Little more in depth than rooting.
Vibrant 2.2 Froyo (ka7) root and unlocked
Garminfone leaked 2.1 root unlocked 68 hours unplugged with 7% left.......unreal!!!
In Clockwork Mod Recovery, I cannot Wipe Battery Stats or Fix Permissions. I can click on it but it will just click and then immediately return to the same menu, appearing that it isn't doing anything at all. I have flashed many different CWMR's since then and nothing has worked. Is there anything else to do?
If you have root explorer go into data/system/batterystatsbin and delete it. hope it helps but make sure that your battery is charged completely at 100%.

ahhhhh. this is a good temp fix. thanks d00d. hopefully someone can help with getting the ability to do this in CWM Recovery again though.
If you just rooted, be sure you still have Superuser app on your phone, gave me fits until I figured out it was missing. Nothing in CWM worked.

It didn't work in DL09 for the latter part of me having that either. I think I accidentally did something to it. Didn't work in 2.1 in the end, still doesn't work in 2.2.
Are you using adrynalyn's rom too? I don't know if it's specific to his rom but I'm having the same issue where I can't use fix_permissions.
I tried new busybox either but no go.

I'm not, I'm using stock DL30 but it was the same on DL09. I did something to it when it ran DL09 and it hasn't worked since.
when you wipe battery stats in cwr, it does not give you a confirmation that it was wiped but if you go into root explorer under data/system/ batterystatsbin it will give you the date and time that it was wiped last. hope it helps.

It used to give me some kind of action or confirmation, but I will check on that. Thanks
Did anyone ever find a fix or explanation for this? I'm having the same problem on my Thunderbolt.
The Fascinate doesn't use the same CWM as other phones. Rom manager doesn't play very nice with our phones. So I'm not sure how much it would help. I do applaud your searching skills though

Battery stats get wiped. There's just no confirmation of it.
If you don't believe me, mount data in cwm then used adb shell and cd to /data/system, ls | grep batterystats.bin and it should show up. Now wipe battery stats and run ls | grep batterystats.bin and it'll be gone.

I believe you but their did use to be a confirmation. When rooted and on stock I would get a confirmation "battery stats wiped".
As soon as I flashed a rom onto the Bolt it was gone.. now it just goes immedietly back to the the advanced screen like nothing even happened. Even on my DroidX... stock and custom rom I would receive the words "battery stats wiped" same as all other confirmations when you perform an action in CWR.
It's strange it dissappeared... but as long as it works.
after unlocking the bootloader and a couple other things... (messed around with it too much i think) i am not getting this message
YOUR DEVICE BATTERY IS INVALID CANNOT BE CHARGED
REPLACE THE BATTERY WITH AN ORIGIONAL MOTOROLA BATTERY
battery IS the origional motorola battery and also there is a question mark in my battery in the notification bar... any help is apprecieated please and thank you in advance... please
are you using the stock charger? did you try to flash any ROMS? what about custom kernels? also, has there been any water damage to the battery?
are you still under warranty? if so, i'd just take it back to the store and see about getting a replacement battery for free

or what if i try the new update that is out now?
problem is i can't figure out how to do that either.. ugghh...
You said you used rom manager I believe that is your problem. rom manager wont do a wipe right now. you need to use tenfers cwm or fastboot to wipe. There is a flashable tenfers cwm just do a search I believe it was in a thered about rom manager. Once I get on a computer ill send you a link.
Edit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1173879&highlight=Rom+manager&page=6
this is where I got it from if it works don't forget to click the thanks button
Edit: you can still use rom manager but only to reboot into recovery then you have to do everything manually
backup your system, install stock rom via fastboot, wipe via fastboot, try to charge with the phone off.
Did you ever get this fixed if so what was the fix?

Lol I laughed
Try this:
1. Remove the battery
2. While the battery is out, plug in the charger
3. When the large battery question mark appears, put the battery back in
4. Wait a couple of minutes, then disconnect the charger
5. Turn on the phone and see if the problem is gone
Of course, it's possible that you fried the chip in the battery, and nothing will work short of a new battery.
im sorry this happened to you. but its refreshing to see an original problem around here besides a bootloop/brick lol. Id suggest fastbooting to a new rom or sbf to one.
aight, I tried searching, and the few threads that mentioned this, was for full rooted phones... I'm on stock sense, permarooted using VISIONary+, etc... I got the OTA update at 12am, tried to do it, and the phone locked up on the screen with the phone and a red lightning bolt... did a battery pull, did the "unroot" via VISIONary, and the phone works fine... am I going to receive the OTA update again, or should I DL the zip file from the other thread, put it on my SD card, and power up + volume key, etc... pretty much, any help or suggestions is appreciated... lol

Impossible. You must not be truly perm rooted since rooted phones (even those running the stock ROM), don't get OTA updates. You must have TEMP rooted with Visionary. The only way to truly perm root with Visionary is in conjunction with the root.sh script.
i didn't edit any script past what visionary does... it's probably the equivalent of a temproot, but I don't have to redo it every time I reboot... I haven't touched it in months... I used the unroot function, so I'm not sure if the "run visionary.sh after root" or the "set system r/w after root" were checked... I know jack **** about this stuff, that's why I'm here... lol
this means youre not rooted. so if you want the update just walk in to a tmo store and have them update it with their sd card update.
That's funny.. my superpower, shootme, and TI backup are working... like I said.. I didn't s-off root my phone, but I do have SU privledges

Somehow your temp root is sticking after a reboot. Superpower? It's called Superuser. Sorry, but I LOLed at that.

SU is stuck too, but the app is called SuperPower... it's a battery management app, but after reading further, root isn't required, just recommended to use all of the features
