what?! something has to be wrong with your phone :/ pure nand rom boots in 30sec. if you have data or apps on sd then it will take longer, about 1,5-2 mins. this is without fastboot ofc.

I disagree, at least always more than a minute is needed, and that's even when the rom is freshly flashed.

Disagree all u want...I own n operate my phone and so know what i'm talking abt...You might want 2 tk a look @ my signature 2 find out why my boot-time's faster than urs..
P.S. greg17477 says his boots up in 30 secs or between 1.5 - 2 mins...I +1 on dat
actually magldr is plainning fastboot support soon
I've two HD2, one with Android and one still with the original WM6.
today is the same boot time... so long for both (i've never measure the time)!
Amasing to have a DHD boot in 2sec.
this "fastboot" should be renamed to "fastwakeup". i mean the phone isnt booting, its waking up from hibernate..
btw, if you wanna test this (if you have a dhd or Z) shutdown the device, pull the battery, put it back in and power on the device, wait 2 seconds. Are you able to use the device now? I guess, you have to wait a little longer..
I'm running Sergio Coredroid v1.2 and it is probably the best Android NAND build to date in terms of performance and speed,BUT the only issue i have is the boot up time, it takes 3+ minutes from when i turn the phone on to the time it settles, sometimes it takes up to 5 minutes and this is definitely something that needs to be looked at.

** MOD EDIT **
For clarity, if you have problems booting/charging after battery goes flat, do the below and all will be well:
Leave your phone off
plug it in to charge for approx 30 minutes
unplug it and pop out the battery (so it will boot)
replace the battery
boot up the phone
plug it in while it is booting up.

no it wont, no danger at all.
i have no idea where all the rumours are coming from regarding the fear of MAGLDR and brickage, in fact it is far easier to completely brick your phones in a Windows Mobile envoronment than android through MAGLDR.
although in reality it is very very diffucilt to brick a HD2, once i lost all laptop power during a HSPL flash and it was still fine....
Draining battery / Running NANDroid / Flashing through MAGLDR will never brick a phone. EVER. PERIOD.
the only way people have ever bricked a HD2 is when they have a TMOUS handset (american model only) and flash a 51 radio. And even then it can still be revived through JTAG

It wont brick your phone but you may have to pull the battery to charge it. Some users are claiming that it wont charge and the battery has to be pulled. As long as you have HSPL installed your pretty much bullet proof (dont try it though )

Android is dangerous on the hd2. It won't brick, but it will ruin your touchscreen, not many will tell you though

i think it's because people running their phone with android let it gets way way way too hot and it damage the screen but it can also happen to window also
download tempmonitor and keep it under 102F and you should be good
btw i'm positive a person using android would be on their phone more then a person on window 6.5
oh yeah lmao btw i'm saying from personal experience

You've simply had a defective device and blaimed it on you using Android when infact its purely your ignorance.
Hey the other week my laptop battery gave up, I was using msn at the time maybe that was the cause??

Beware magldr:
It's true. If you let the battery die completely, it won't charge anymore. It happened to me. Now I'm waiting for my ebay-bought wall charger for my battery. I just hope that when i manage to charge it, my hd2 still funtions. Cuz letting the battery die while on nand android may cause your nand to get corrupted. Then, you can't even access the bootloader.

Well if that was the case and you was faced with no power then you would simply use a battery charging dock.
So worst case you would be buying a cheap charger.
Oh and to set your mind a rest, it must be bs as ive just turned my phone off and plugged charger in and its charging. Only weird thing is that when I unplug the lead led is still red and I have to remove battery and put it back in to power on phone.

I flashed Android to my HD2 using NAND and now I want to go back to WinMo 6.5. Can anyone tell me how to do this.
Get the WM ROM you want to install and enter the bootloader - turn off the phone and then hold down the volume down button and briefly press the power button. Keep holding the volume down button till you get the tri-colour screen. Connect to PC via USB and run the WM ROM installer.
Download the original ROM or custom ROM.
Put your HD2 in Tricolor Bootloader mode by holding the VOL-down button when powering on.
Flash your ROM.
Where can I get the WM ROM?

Why would you want to do that? Andriod is awesome and better suited to the HD2 than the WM it came with...

Its because you are either using an old/crap rom or you havent done enough research.
I have tried MANY roms and most of them now have excellent battery consumption. Between 1-5mA on standby.
Make sure you try things like remembering to turn off bluetooth/wifi when not using them aswell as have a upto date kernel/rom, also make sure that your radio is a uptodate version.
There is loads you can do, you simply cant be bothered, that is your problem. Battery consumption used to be a big problem, that simply is not true anymore.

Yeah my advice is if your battery runs flat, don't bother trying to turn the phone back on again but instead just leave it until you find a charger, then plug it in and hope for the best. If it doesn't end up charging, you have to cut open your USB cable and hold the red and black wires to their respective parts of the battery (don't ask me which lol, search for it )
I use tasker to turn off the phone if battery level gets lower than 15% so there will be some juice left to make the phone boot and plug the charger.

My HD2 only needed 2% battery to make it fully start. And it would recharge the battery while it was in magldr boot screen.
Yesterday my screen failed due to the known design fail of htc. The power and back button damaged the screen digitizer so the touch part of the screen didnt work. Had this problem for the past few months but this time i could not activate the screen anymoee. Luckly my contract was at its end so i could get a shiny Galaxy Nexus. But still HD2 rocks the world and is in my eyes the best phone.

only mag 1.11 can charge while phone is off.
if you have 1.12 or higher and charge at magldr screen it will take FOREVER to charge...but it does work
after 1.11 it auto starts when charging.....
not sure if wp7 will work in 1.11......

So, maybe a new feature in the next release of MAGLDR can be a battery charge capability with indication and level of battery in a menu just like Services? Since it boots up anyway to charge (even in magldr), i think it would be helpful. What do you all think? Maybe we post a humble request to Cotulla, the developer of MAGLDR?

Faith, my friend. Not just because you got a Nexus, that means he stopped his work.
If you check his twitter, he's still working on it.
Right now, I'm using SD Android on my HTC HD2..
But it consumes more than 30% of battery power in standby mode for 5-6 hours...
and drains a lot when the screen is on..
1. I'm wondering that how much battery saving will do if I change it into NAND Android?
2. Should it consumes less power and stable like original Windows Mobile 6.5?
thank you
You won't get battery drain which will match WinMo if you use Android, but you certainly shouldn't get such high drain either. Turn off all connections, use JuiceDefender and SetCPU to minimise drain and install current widget to get a better reading. It should be around 7-8ma for an SD build. For me, that amounts to 1% an hour. Also, NAND has better battery life and performance, but bear in mind you won't have WinMo (although in all honesty I doubt this would make a difference )

Keep the battery out, wait about 20 minutes, and try booting again. You might need to reflash another kernel if you had the auto boot option set on whatever app you used to overclock. It should be ok.

Are you sure your battery isnt dead ? Try plugging it in and waiting a bit. Most processors have a thermal shut off as a safety precaution well below max temp. Havent heard of someone bricking a phone from overclocking in quite a while.
