[Q] How to change WP7 back to Wm6.5? - HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting an

I was using ChunckyROM WM 6.5 on NAND and Android on a SD card. Today I want to try WP7 and follow the instructions to flash NAND to WP7. But later I decide go back to previous status. But with MAGDLER, how can I flash back to WM6.5? So desperately looking for help.

fixed. Found the answer at here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=913081
Sorry for the trouble.

Note for future : Maybe posting in the right section could help...
BTW, as stated in all DAF (utility to flash Android using MAGLDR), to revert to wm6.5 from any Nandroid, just flash a STOCK (i.e. official) rom
Plus, if i remember well, to revert to wm6.5 from wp7, just flash ANY wm6.5 rom, custom or stock, as you like ==> this is written in the DFT topic about 1st WP7 release for HD2
And remember = Google is your friend...

i tried flash stock rom. but everytime i did that, the results display connection error [260]. it says, the update utility cannot connect to your PDA phone. please check that your usb cradle/cable is connected properly between PC and your PDA phone.
check the following:
1.the pda phone is connected to the USB cradle/cable
2.the USB cradle/cable is connected to the pc.
i am now using android 2.2 from contulla and DFT NAND rom. do you have any clue regarding my case?please..

Help! Stuck with Windows Energy ROM on my HD2 Leo !

Hi, I have installed HSPL and attempted to load android on my HD2 Leo phone with the latest version. Once to Flashed the ROM my phone booted to a very basic Windows Mobile Energy O/S which keeps trying to boot to android. Once it starts booting android I just get a blank screen and everything freezes.
I am trying to restore my original O/S but even when I do a hard reset it still loads up Windows Energy. If I try and flash my original Windows Mobile ROM HSPL loads on the screen but it gives me a USB error connections.
So basically, Im stuck with this basic Windows Mobile Energy. Can anyone help (step-by-step if possible) with how I can restore the original Windows Mobile ROM onto my HD2 Leo. This problem is really stressing me out!!!
Thank you so much!
You should really make sure you know what your doing before you do it.
Ok, first check on your bootloader screen to make sure your device has hspl installed correctly.
download the normal windows mobile rom for your device, put your device in bootloader mode and connect it to the pc using the usb cable.
Run the ruu program.
When I load up the HSPL screen and connect through USB it just gives me a USB connection error. That's part of the problem
I am getting the same error too..Did any find got a solution for this????/
flash rom from SD card be easier if ur having USB problems,
yes try flashing the phone from the micro sd card but you need to use a smaller size card like a 1GB or so. enter bootloader and the flash will automatically start.
have you tried a hard reset?
You can find the method in here!

Restore to Stock WinMo 6.5 Rom Help

I've got Android on my NAND, but my HD2's touch screen no longer registers touch. The screen works, but the capacitive sensors don't. I switched to a 2 GB microSD card, and loaded LEOIMG.NBH from T-Mobile's website onto it onto the root directory, with nothing else on the card.
Then I booted into the boot-loader, and it doesn't give me the option to flash the phone.
I need to return this to HTC for warrenty, and I don't know how to restore it.
Any help?
I restored the SD card to FAT32 and it still won't work....
Hello there,
you have to install stock WinMo Rom, check this thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623283
This however is from the EU HD2 forum, if you have a TMOUS HD2, please check tha according forum for stock WinMo Roms.
To flash this, you have to boot in the HSPL boot loader (by pushing volume down) and then connect via USB and flash the stock WinMo Rom by executing the file you will have downloaded
Just to be on the safe side, please be advised, that this procedure will delete everything down to HSPL, which however will be necessary, as you are returning your phone for repairs.

Awesome. For some reason, I was never able to do that before. I figured out that it was the USB cable that I bought off Ebay that wouldn't allow it to transfer data, but instead only charge.
I was attempting to flash it from SD card.
Now it has Windows Mobile 6.5 on it, but when I boot into BOOT LOADER, it says Cotulla HSPL still on it. Is there a way to remove this? So that it's not "VOIDED WARRENTY" for HTC?
I FIGURED IT OUT. THANK YOU.

need to restore to original OS

have android 4.0 on HD2 and it sucks bad..
how do I restore back to original OS windows 6.5
1. Download any WM 6.5 ROM for your phone you like,
2. power off your phone,
3. power it on while holding vol-down button (you should see 4-colour "matress"),
4. connect hd2 with usb cable to your desktop PC, run WM6.5 flasher.
5. Done... ))
i do that but the flasher says this after it recognize the phone and start flashing it stops and says this error{226} the update utility cannot get response from your PDA phone. please check that your ubs craddle/cable is connected properly between the pc and your pda phone and also check your pda phone.
i tried several times and i cant, even with stock rom, the ics rom it have in it is nand anybody help

For custom rom. try this.

I flash my hd2 using energy rom dinik. with radio 2.12.50.02_2.
So far I have not encountered any bug like freezing of lcd.
Thanks NRGZ28 for the rom and PG101 for the detailed instructions to install custom rom to my phone.
Yeh I would recomend NRG wm6.5 roms too, best wm6.5.3 experience available & it works perfect.
Try flashing via sd & check you current HSPL & radio are suitable too ...
yeah im actually trying to flash a wm6 from NGR but then again this phone have nand android installed and when i try to flash the wm6 ruu the flasher stops at 0% and says that the phone its not connected, after it showed it did before i pressed next, do i need any kind of drivers?
i have ht drivers from my sensation are they the same? i am a total noob for this phone and i dont like the ics thats why i wanna go stock while i learn little by little how to do things with it.
Flash via SD card method is probably way to go but take care with radio versions if a TMOUS HD2 or you will brick it.
You could install ActiveSync if XP or WMDC6.1 for Vista/W7 as it has drivers.
you can do a factory reset which should fix the problem

[Q] Connection error

Hi all,
Three weeks ago I decided to make a switch from wm 6.5 to wp7 (hd2o 1.25 rom), installed magdlr 1.13 and
flashed the rom without, any problems.
I really started to like WP7 so I decided to built my own rom based on the latest build 8773, rom building wasn't a big problem
so it was time to flash my own rom, but there it went wrong, everytime I wanna flash the rom I
received an connection error, so I thought I must have done something wrong when I built my rom, so I switched
back to HD2O 1.25 rom but unfortunly I'm receiving the same connection error.
So I decided to go back to wm 6.5 and flash the original rom and install magdlr again to see if that makes
any difference, but I also received a connection error when I was trying to flash the original rom.
The next option I could try was flashing through usb, so I renamed the ruu and copied leoimg.nbh on my sd-card
but the phone doesn't recognized the nbh file, I tried several sd-cards but still the same problem.
But I still have magdlr on my device so I decided to try wp7 again, but still no luck, but I noticed that when dwi
is searching for usb it can't find the phone so while dwi was searching I unplugged and plugged my phone to my computer,
this time wp7 was going to flash but unfortunally it stops by partition 0.
The last option I could give a try was to flash Android, but still a connection error, but when I unplugged and
plugged my phone while dwi was waiting for usb flasher, the rom started to flash, so now I'm having Android on my
phone, but that is not what I want.
I checked my sd-cards on Android and noticed that 2 cards aren't recognized anymore, but the others are still working.
I can try the HD2Toolkit but what worries me is that I can't flash wm 6.5 on sd.
So I'm hoping someone can guide me into the right direction,
Greetz,
try reinstall ActiveSync (if you have XP) or WMDC (Vista/Win7)
Thanks buddy, that solved the problem
Greetz,

[Q] Weird "00028002 Not allow" Error when Flashing

Hey there Community,
I really don't know much about mobiles, especially the HTC HD2 and flashing ROMs,
but somehow I got Android to work on my HTC HD2 1 year back and now wanted to sell my phone because I got a new one.
Therefore I needed to set up the factory settings and get Windows Mobile 6.5 back on my phone..
Unfortunately I failed hard while following the instructions of a tutorial that said I only needed to rename ruunbh to leoimg and put it on my SD-card and so on.
Halfway the update was interrupted and since then Iam getting "00028002 Not allow" error and can only boot to the bootloader saying "Upgrade ROM code error Please try again" And the usual things in the red disctrict and at the bottom it says that I got an USB-connection which seems to be wrong, because I can't see the device and so on.
I tried to install HSPL4 but it failed due to no USB-connection.
So what can I now do to make it work again? Iam really frustrated
Flashing image from sd is all good if it original correct country/vendor rom, if not you get your problem & things can be tricky as HSPL was replaced with standard SPL so care must be taken.
Either find a correct Vendor/country (CID) ROM for your HD2 or get it in bootloader & able to flash HSPL.
Would of thought for resale a good Android build would be more desirable.
I know what you mean, but the problem is that I just don't know what to do..
My phone is not branded or anything, so I couldn just go to htc.com and get me the newest winmo Rom?
The Problem is, what to do then, exactly?
It seems that I can't flash anything because I dont got usbconnection..
So no idea to original ROM country vendor !
usb connection may be due to driver issue on PC, install Activesync if on XP or WMDC 6.1 for Vista & Windows 7 then retry connecting hd2 via usb .
*Also make sure you know your version of HD2 & be aware of .51 radios killing US T-Mobile HD2s.
Try to flash 2.08.HSPL only (also in HSPL4). It is enough. You can also try these drivers to fix your USB connection.
And here you can find offical ROMs.
Drivers linked above are not suitable, install activesync or WMDC is best option.
Finding original ROM is not going to be easy if you have no clues to origin of handset ...
Also, just cost you don't "see" the phone from the p c doesn't mean you don't have a USB connection.... it will never show up in your drives list like it does when an os is running, and activesync (or wmdc) will also not see the phone when it's in bootloader.
If the phone shows "USB" (and your PC may even "ding" when its plugged in, that's all you can expect unless you look deeper,, into the hardware list, for example.
What does hspl line say?
I'd do....
Hspl4, choose 3.03.hspl (NOT 3.03.0000)
Flash unbranded 3.14 rom from USB
Report back.
I have same story - 00028002 not allow+no usb.
no one stock rom can be flashed.
completely lost and no idea what to do.
