Hello,
I'm a noob, through and through. I think that I did everything correctly. I flashed Artemis v8.0 and followed the instructions, then it said that it was completed successfully. When it boots, however, it gets stuck on the "stick together" screen and displays the R G and D information in the bottom-left as it should. Also, when I access the bootloader and re-run the flash, I see no image version information listed. I should mention that the flashing process only took about two minutes. I already did a hard reset.
Did I do something wrong? What do I do?
Update: I tried flashing KUMAR and have the same results; the only dirrerence is that the information listed for D has changed to 1.66.KUMAR... oh my...
...Wow.... I can't believe it. It won't turn it on at all after flashing the original LEO ROM. Looks like I'm toast now...****...
What radio are you running? What model phone is it?
The radio is default. I didn't touch that. I installed HSPL then flashed a couple of ROMs, none of which worked. I think that I may have flashed the wrong version of the official LEO ROM fromthe sticky. So, it looks like I'm screwed. The best way to learn from your mistakes is to lose $500.
you still didnt say what phone, tmous is different from all other hd2's
if its a tmous, then yea, i suspect its gone. (it was possibly recoverable at your first and second posts, cos that was roms that dont support 576meg ram, so flashing a tmous specifric rom would(i think) have fixed it, but what official rom did you flash? anything other than the tmous 2.10 rom will have had a bad radio, and as we all know by now, the wrong radio bricks tmous's
(Edit - sorry, didn't mean to rub it in, just wanted to explain what had happened at each step)
I flashed LEO 1.48 (WWE) from the stickied thread. I can't post the link because I'm new. I don't even know what TMOUS means, so I suspect that's not a good thing. It's the model with 1024 MB ROM is all that I know. If I can find out exactly what, let me know.

Yea, tmous is T Mobile US. They will ONLY accept roms of the 2.10 family. Thats why your first 2 rom flashes failed.
However the damage was done by the radio. Stock roms come with a radio as part of the rom, and the official rom you flashed is oooold. Certainly it has a ..51.. radio.
Any radio with ..51.. in the version will not support the 576meg ram that the tmous has, and as it turns out, they stop the phone even powering on. (or powers on but black screen, the PC sees it as a qualcomm usb device, if it sees it at all.)
I've yet to see anyone offer any kind of fix, though i have seen people say they have had it replaced by tmob.
Unlucky.

So, I now have a couple of options. I could go back to the store and play dumb, or I could physically damage it and pay the $150 or so to get it replaced. Thoughts?

So if they don't take it back, would they take note of the fact that my warranty is voided so I couldn't go ahead and pay the $150 for a new one? I really appreciate your help.
if they figure out the warranty its void im sure they'll still fix it, they'll just charge for it.

Alright, they took it back no questions asked. I'm going to actually end up saving $200 because of this - my contract is up in a week! Thanks for your help, samsamuel. Great community here. Now I just hope I'm not stupid enough to try it again!
heh so there is a silver lining after all.
you used HSPL?
if you did that and you go back to store make sure you dont have HSPL more on your phone!!!!!!
I have made the same mistake, i flash the rom energy 1apr , the flash was made succesfuly end phone was started normal and functioned , i close the phone and when i opened him , the phone stock on the wake up screen ( htc on white screen ). what kan I do?, please help me
i had some how same problem before like Sticking in boot screen
1. i tried hard reset hold Volume up+down and press end button till it will start and then it will ask you if you wanna do reset and press volume up for accept after that finish it will ask again to press volume up for boot then it would boot. if does then you need to correct the radio and also ROM which is correct for you
2. another is task29 method
let me know if you could make it...
thanx , i am at work , bath will try later
@costinn : try to flash the proper Radio ROM. It happened to a lot of people because they do not learn about the radio compatibility! Try 2.08.50.08 and you will be fine!
so i flashed my phone with the wrong radio i believe but the strange thing is that my computer recognizes it. the doesnt turn on at all but i here the sound of a device being plugged in when i plug it into winodws. is there a chance its not bricked?
the sound doesn't necessarily indicate much.
what did you do? specifics, please?
can you get into bootloader?
i was trying to flash a stock rom and i guess it didnt work?

also, as i asked, can you get into bootloader?

You may try and follow this solution, I suggested earlier. Click here
Let us know if it worked.
sorry i was vague, i was in a rush to get to work this morning and on top of it i was panicking. i flashed the stock image:
RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.48.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.05_2_Ship
i tried that on a hd2 so i could flash hspl3 again and use wp7 on my hd2.
i ended up just sending it in, but if they send it back with no repairs ill try your method... i relly hope they just send me a new one though. i mean... i flashed a stock image to the hd2, so shouldnt they see no hspl and just the stock spl?
again, more details are needed.
like what type of hd2 do you have? if it is a us tmo brand, i believe it is bricked (as you flashed a .51 radio.)
if you flashed your stock rom from your sd card, hspl is removed. if you flashed over usb, and did not uninstall hspl, hspl is still there.
what i don't get is if you can flash a rom, why are you saying it is bricked? no offense, but each post seems to change the story (first it was a rom, the a radio, now you are flashing roms but sending the phone in, still don't know if you can get into booloader, but now you sent the phone in or is it in your possession???) and i am not following what you did, where you started or what is going on. maybe i am totally missing what you are saying (which is possible)...hope someone can help you.
i have the 1024 us tmous hd2. i tried to flash to a stock rom, forget i said radio. i tried to flash the .51 which i did not know would brick my phone, so i played dumb with htc and sent it in to get repaired. if they dont repair it i am kinda SOL because i flashed using usb and they will see it has HSPL. sorry, do i need to include anything else? i am just kinda a noob... sorry.
i swear i posted a response. hmm.
thank you for the details. your assessment of the situation is spot on; unfortunately your phone is indeed bricked. and likely htc will not know about hspl...or so i have heard from others.
curious, why did you send it to htc? did tmobile reject it? if not, and htc doesn't give you a new one, try getting it to tmobile (under warranty)- worked for me when the phone stopped working for unknown reason. good luck.
possible to make it back to work...?

Guys,
First time trying to flash HD2. I installed HSTL. After this I tried to install the radio and the rom. however, I couldn't since the devise install the original Rom.
during the uploading the original rom, I disconnected the battery. NOW, THE DEVISE IS NOT WORKING AT ALL
PLEASE HELP WHAT CAN I DO ??????
more details:
1) are you on a Euro or Tmobile HD2?
2) Did you flash HSPL3 or HSPL4?
3) Which exact radio and which exact ROM did you flash?
4) what do you mean by not working at all? Can you turn it on at all? can you hold the down arrow while turning it on and see the color screen?
5) Why the hell would you pull your battery during a flash?
its middle east
HSPL3
I can't turn it on at all.
Now, what to do guys. please help
which radio and ROM did you flash?
"can't turn it on" sounds like a bad radio flash, however you DID pull out your battery so you may have just put it in wrong or bent a pin.
Take out your battery, make sure the 3 pins are intact and facing out (sometimes they get bent to face up or down). Slid in the battery carefully how it's supposed to go (not backwards or something), then try to turn on the device again and pray it works.
You are going to have to get this thing to at least show a bootscreen or tri-color screen or something to save it.
ohhhhhhh, I've already tried all what you suggested including prayer, it doesn't work. Besides, I wasn't able to flash the new rom. I unplugged the battery while the main rom uploading.
Any other suggestion. is it common problem.

well the problem is that you pulled the battery in the middle of a flash, and if it was a stock ROM flash then that means it was flashing the radio too.
If you do this to 10,000 more HD2s you may have enough bricks to make a house, it certainly seems you have at least 1 brick to start out with.
This is a common problem for
1) people who flash the wrong radio for their phone
2) people who flash the wrong HSPL for their phone (a few people used a CDMA diamond unlocker on their GSM phone and ended up with bricks, and other devices)
3) people who pull the battery out in the middle of a flash.
You sir, fall into the third category. I don't think your phone is coming back to life, do you have a warranty you can claim it on or insurance, just say it "stopped working"?
unless maybe I misunderstood what you did?
Anyhow THANKS a lot kawazak for your prompt reply and help

You better send it in for repair .
Just FYI I've pulled both battery and usb on four or five occasions, no problem, however I suspect if I had done it in the first half minute of the flash, while spl and radio are flashing, things may not be so lucky.
I really do not recommend it, it scares the crap out of ya! Weed and flashing don't mix.

No if you can still get the bootloader to come up you have not bricked your HD2.
How did you flash the ROM via your computer and USB cable or via your SD card? Will your HD2 just not boot all the way into Windows Mobile? I need as much info as you can give.
i think you just bricked it. Like lawl, i'm sorry but I have no sympathy for this, you flashed your HD2 with the wrong rom. xD You shoulda read and researched before jumping into the fire. xD
Well if you can still get into the multi colored screen, then flash the right rom for it, which would be a t-mobile rom, since you said there is a t-mobile logo at the top.
Well as stated above also, if you can get into the tri color screen, you haven't bricked your device.

The reason i wanted to do this was because i installed magldr and i got to that black screen with like 10 or 11 options and tried flashing a rom but it wouldnt work so i wanted to start all over.

Yes go to T-Mobile.com and in the search bar there type in HTC HD2 update you will find it. The T-Mobile site will ask you to enter your IMEI number, this can be found by removing the battery cover and battery. The IMEI will be an a sticker behind the battery. Enter it and you will be abale to download the official T-Mobile update it will have ROM 3.14.531.1 and radio 2.15.50.14..
With a TMOUS HD2 you have to make zure the ROM is compatible with a TMOUS HD2. Even more important youmust make sure the radio that will be flashed is TMOUS compatible, are you will brick your TMOUS HD2. To see a list of TMOUS radios go to here .
Edit: Do not use one of the ROMs from the above link. Sorry I know the above poster was trying to help but you have a T-Mobile HD2 so you really need to get the official ROM from T-Mobile. The link he give is to the HTC site and if you download the wrong ROM by accident andflash it you will brick your HD2.
Oh yeah oops. Sorry, my bad, didn't even read the thing.
Note: This update is not intended for use on T-Mobile(US) HTC HD2, and doing so may have undesired side effects.

It is all cool Skellyyy, I know you were trying to help. The thing is us TMOUS owners have to be very carful when it comes to flashing. We have to read very carefully what we are flashing. minumal if we flash the wrong ROM but it has the right radio, like what appears to have happen to LoveisPeace 2012, our HD2 will just not boot up into Win Mo but still go into bootloader. If we flash the wring radio or HD2 is bricked, dead, done, nomore.

Works both ways man, if you's flash the wrong radio, your phones bricked. But... you's have more internal memory not needing to partition your SD card.

You are very correct Skellyyy the wrong radio to any HTC HD2 will brick the phone no matter what model it is. But the TMOUS model is a lot more suseptable to this as it can only use TMOUS compatible radios. Most other models such as the European model and etc. can use most radios, and I said most not all, that or out there. This is why so many new TMOUS HD2 owners brick there phone cause you really have to read and study to find this info about the radio.

the regular hd2 can use them all. Worst that happens on a regular hd2 is you put a 51 radio on a 576meg enabled rom, and teh phone hangs at boot screen till you change the radio, and thats a rom issue, not the phone thats incompatible.

Its a regular HD2 with hspl 2.08.hspl. the model Id looks fine.
If it were mine, and I was struggling to return to stock, I'd probably use hspl2 (not hspl4,I don't trust it, no specific reason, just a feeling)
Take hspl2, set 1.66.hspl, then try flashing a stock 1.66 winmo rom via USB.

It is important you only do it via USB though because if you flash it via SD card it will overwrite the HSPL and then bootloader is stored in a separate storage chip on the PCB board so even if the bootloader is fine and the flash storage can still be flashed it may have bad sectors or have become unreadable. If this is the case it will cause the device not to boot. Also it may be suffering from the dreaded separation of the CPU from the PCB board which will also cause it not to boot, maybe boot but soon shut off, or not even power on at all.
Now for the bright side of the story. If you buy the device and nothing you try will allow it to boot, you can find a HD2 that has a cracked screen our non working digitize. and then swap out the PCB board from it to the HD2 and have a working device. But I do suggest you let a professional do the swapping of the PCB.
Thanks again for answers. But i noticed one detail.. 1 day ago, there was another hd2 on sale. For the same price, in the same city, and i think in the same complectation (box etc.) but there was non working touch screen.
So, im 80% sure that is the same phone, and i won't buy it. BTW, thanks for help..
