I have a question that I have been trying to answer for sometime now. In both the stock ROM and Cyanogenmod 6.1.1 all flash videos, like those on Facebook that people post, would be automatically played in landscape. How can I enable this without using the auto rotation in Gingerbread? Thank you for the help!

Ok, I guess what I actually need to figure out is how to get videos launched from the browser in landscape only. I have tried everything including those auto-rotate aps from the market and nothing works. Anyone?!?!?!?

It happened to me last night but I skipped to the next track and it stayed open.
I use MixZing. Most of the time there's no problem. However, with any of the launchers, there are a lot of Force Close incidences when the phone is in Landscape mode. I actually shut off auto-rotate because of this. It is worst with Launcher Pro. Is your phone in landscape mode when this happens?
No. its not a force close I dont think because there is no fc msg...but the app fails ever since I installed a new battery img to show the percent...plz help

i'm using player pro..no fc's here. don't use the stock music player but i'd recommend any of the ones listed in this thread.
So I've had this problem ever since Android was ported the HD2.
Whenever I am in Android, auto rotate does not work for me.
I've tried in WM 6.5 and in WP7 and auto rotate works perfectly in both.
I've used Task29 and then installing a fresh Android ROM but to no avail. Both SD and NAND builds will not rotate.
I have the auto rotate setting checked so that's not the problem. If anyone has any suggestion/solution please let me know and thanks in advance.

Auto rotate doesn't work with all apps, most home apps for example have disabled this by default. Did you try rotating it in several apps, like the browser?
What build are you using?
I'm using tytung's gingerbread 2.1.
It doesn't matter which apps I use. None of them rotate. I've tried plenty of messaging apps including the stock one, several browsers including the stock, and games such as Abduction do not work.
Thanks again for any assistance.

Take a look at this topic
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=894511
It has a lot of helpful information.
I checked out the thread you posted but no luck. Hopefully someone can help to find out what the culprit is.
I'll keep an eye on the other thread as well.

One thing Ive noticed with the Android builds, is that the auto rotate lags. What I mean by that is that it takes 10-15 seconds on my HD2 using DFT's 2.2 NAND Rom. If its stuck in 1 mode, turn the phone to the opposite and just hold it there for a good 15-20 seconds and see if it auto rotates.
Works for me when I do this but it is quite irritating!
Held the phone sideways for about a minute and still no luck.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

me too problem (((((((((
I am unable to open youtube videos on my web browser despite installing Adobe flash 10.3. Am i the only one ???
I am on KG1 rooted with CF-4.0 KG1.
EDIT: Solution
Ok guys. Got the solution. Go to settings--> Enable Plugins-->Always On.
And this works. By default it is "Always On" but still you have to select "On Demand" or "Off" and then select "Always On". Try this back and forth until it works. Also try updating the flash player to 10.3 from Market.
I hope it works for you as well.
Thanks to "tfn" for the idea.

I know a few ppl who cant play any flash videos on KG1 including me.
Very strange, I just took a photo with the flash, watched a Youtube video and a video clip from the BBC website and all worked perfectly.
That's weird, flash works fine here just using the leaked version, no mods.
Have you guys tried going in to browser settings and enable plugins?

If i go to bbc website to watch a flash video it just states to update your flash version, but i am on the latest version 10.3.
I have flashed a few times, done a factory reset etc etc , still no good,
Very strange

Test Proceedures
As the title said- i tried everything- all versions of flash .apk from adobe website, installing adobe air, and still nothing. When i want to watch video in flash from a website (i am watching a lot of anime), dolphin cant open.it (and i cant even turn using flash on with this browser- getting info that says "using flash in 4.0+ was disabled because of crashing dolphin blah blah blah"), opera is showing white field (white = background, like there is no video) and firefox-most intresting case- allows me to watch this videos until it.is not fullscreen mode. When i tap fullscreen button, i can see only a '!' In circle. Also, i cant play .mp4 videos from sites on fullscreen. I dont have any button to change size of video...
What is the best thing- movies from xhamster allows me to make it fullscreen. But inly from that site, and olny in firefox. On 4.0.2 stock galaxy tab 2 7.0 i was able to watch everything after just installing flash .apk, and i dont even know wich version
My classmate said something about app called 'actionscript', but as i see, this is programming language or something, and all apps i can find are references and guides throught that language...
I have brought my n7 a week ago, and since last saturday i cant make that damn thing to use flash propertly ._____. Is there any solution? As the title said- i dont want to root it. Just nope, i like original software, except t this damn flash...
rry if i said something wrong- english is not my native language, so.please, grammar nazis, calm.down :d
Try mxplayer, but you may need to be rooted for the flash to work.
BTW, thanks for flagging up that xhamster is a porn site.:banghead:

Stock rom, stock everything, not rooted or any kernals. Don't know a thing about hacking Android devices (soon to change!)
Stock video player doesn't work? It worked flawlessly before, now it goes from a white screen to black screen to homescreen with a message "Unfortunately, Video has stopped."
I have disabled some stuff in the App Manager but nothing that seems to be linked to the stock video player? Anyone else with the same problem?
In system settings, apps find the player and clear it's cache.

Cleared in both the app (1.47mb file) and video player (100kb file?). Still acting the same :crying:, thank you for the suggestion!
I can still access my media files by going thru the files menu, but that gets annoying after a while :cyclops:

If this started after you disabled stuff then you disabled something related. It is not uncommon, especially if you are not sure.
Reenable apps or do a reset.
