[Q] gameloft games...

Hello everyone, not sure if this is the correct spot for this post but i wanted to know if any of you have purchased any games directly from gameloft. They are currently having a holiday sale where u buy a game for $4.99 and you get one free. Now to me that sounds like to good to be true but im still curious you know. They do have some pretty good games like N.O.V.A. and much more. Any feedback from you guys would be awesome.

It's a legit offer if that's what you are asking. They have a lot of cool games but I usually just wait until they offer free games and then I download them. I was able to get Hero of Sparta and Let's Golf for free.

warning about gameloft, it was confirmed that they double charged lots of their customers that purchased a game from them, I didn't have a problem after purchasing Dungeon Hunter so its not an every customer problem but there are many still having issues getting refunds

Hey, did anyone actually do this deal? I ordered one game, I paid, and then I ordered another game from the free list and... I paid again... how do I get the free games?

join the marketplace gameloft, sheesh.
i bought asphalt 5 or something a while back and i dont think i get free updates, unless i buy it again.. aint that some BS?
gameloft doesnt deserve my money until joining.

I did this twice. The first time there was a "download free game" link that was displayed after i made the purchase, so that was easy. The second time I didn't get that same link. I ended up emailing them and they sent me a link for a free game. I personally haven't had any problems with them, but have only made 3 or 4 purchases with them since getting my EVO, so YMMV. They did take a while to respond to my email (5 or 6 days) but since it was around Christmas time I'll give them a pass on that.

I think they have some of he best mobile games around. Silly as it may sound but I'm after console like gaming and their games are about as close as you can get. Also, EA has a deal right now , .99 cents a game. That includes nfs shift, which imo is the best looking racer we have. I remember when games were 15 to 30 dollars for games, abiet, this was before the iPhone and Android application model existed.

That's kind of like buying a computer and refusing to buy software for it because the computer and your Internet service was expensive enough.

No issues..i have a lot of game loft games.....theres ways of getting a hold of games and apps...i like to consider myself a droid pirate lol

I refuse to buy software as well...the internet is too much as well (thats when you root...and use tethering) I'm an adobe photoshop user and theres no way in hell id pay the asking price for that....the internet does amazing things sometimes

These devs here work hard on these apps the least you can do is help them out by buying there apps and not stealing them

What a broken EVO

This is the worst screen I've ever seen.

That's not even an Evo, the camera is in the wrong place on the back and there's a touchpad circle thingy on the front at the bottom.

Say do any one know why when I'm on a stock Rom I have both 1x and 3g icons but when I flash a custom Rom I only get 1x why is that

The only ROM I've even seen that shows 1x is MetroDroid for Evos on MetroPCS. I've never seen my phone go to 1x......maybe I'm lucky to have great 3G coverage.

Yes I stay I corpus christi Texas where we have excellent 3gcoverage and 4g as well it only does this on custom rons but when I do stock tons the 3g shows up

I'm pretty sure Sense roms don't show "1X". Only AOSP roms. So, chances are you go to 1X sometimes but you just don't know it.

@Spencer88 lol and @ Miami yeah the one x just stays up there like it is the 3g I dont know I'm just gonna go. Back to stock and see will it still be there

hey guys i have got an offer to trade my 2 weeks old play for a brand new htc incredible S i know that there is a HUGE pricing difference but the incredible has much much more features moreever the development section of this phone is almost dead..
what do u guys suggest?

Depends on needing the game controls or not. It really is your choice.

Well I like the gaming controls alot but I wudnt mind hd video recording and a better screen and more ram and and more internal memory and a better cam

It's a good trade. The Play is made for gaming junkies. I am one of them, and I actually traded in my Galaxy S, which betters this phone in certain areas. To each their own. I know I've played more games in the few weeks with the play than I did in the 9 months with my Galaxy S, so I'm happy.

The price difference is only about £50-£70 in the UK, I would jump at that, I'd trade my play for it!

Well looking at the amount of games coming out for this phone id rather keep it nway my parents said no :/ (im 15 )
I finished 2 games in 2 weeks bia 2 nova 2 and im midway with asphalt and rainbow 6 which has just come out so im a.game junkie and I like this phone....
So in short im keeping it...declined the offer

mame please come to android
i can still remember the first time i completed outrun in the arcade
and i had a crowd of people watching... so many memories
and playing out run on my spectrum with the outrun sound track blasting on the tape recorder lol
the good old days

you know what, definitely go for the IS.
i currently own both phones the IS & the play.
the IS is by far a more stable & enjoyable phone.
if the play actually lived up to its capabilities, it would have been good.
too many glitches & issues. starts to get irritating after a while

Just dont unlock your bootloader like that guy did and you wont have his problems. My play is trouble and issue free. Owned it since the day rogers released.

download movies

I have searched and not found any site that will allow us to download movies from. Any suggestions? Or do we have to wait for Samsung movie hub to do this?

If your not routed you can download the google mobile app and rent movies through google. just search around on your you finding out somewhere I can't remember where I got off but it works great on mine on rooted tab.. with the hdmi dock I can watch it on my big screen..

There are quite a few websites that let you download movies right to your tab. You can just Google it, I had a few sites from my iPhone as soon as I find them I'll post them in here.

Download ttorrent in the market... and to get movies go to kickasstorrents.com lots of movie...or warez-bb.org.

Thinking of 2 for the kids for xmas

I'm into tech stuff have the HTC one X also have the TF101 which the kids use as well as me .They are 7 and 9 and was thinking of getting them a nexus 7 each for Xmas for movies,music,games and general web stuff.Would have no issues rooting them and putting custom roms on.Other than it being a very good tablet for the price I know little about the N7 anyone got kids using them everyday and how do they find them

Imo there's no reason to not get a child a tablet, it can be a tool for education and reading should you choose it to be. I got my sisters children rattling away on computers when they were still toddlers, I think that technology will be an important part of their lives, and I want them to embrace it early.
I might be a little worried about a child breaking the screen on the tablet though.

I see your point about books and bikes
I have kids zone on my TF101 and both use it for education,both love reading books,eldest uses the pc for home work and is a whizz on word and power point. They have bikes and get plenty of exercise and are.doing very well in school.I see this as a better option for movies music and stuff neither are or will be on facebook or Twitter until at least 14.it's more amedia device for them and web browsing for homework and things Like mosshi monsters

Me personally, and I'm not telling you what to do, computers are just taking over kids lives and they are not knowing how awesome it is to be outside like we all were when we were kids.
But movies are a blast to watch if you are camping with them. And who knows, books in school could all be headed towards PDF formats anyways.

Do it mate.
My 9 year old son got a tab as well and he uses it only if he's done playing outside with his friends. He is not that into gadget but still it's ok he have one and got something to use whenever he feels like. So it's still depends on the kids if they want to spend more or less time with the tab.

Yes they would definitely love it if they also got a few games on it too hehe. You could get groove IP on it and also use it as a phone considering your in the US or CANADA region. There are any benefits to it more than just for entertainment. The ultimate decision of how your kids play with their toys is yours though.

Hmm isn't there a more kid friendly tablet that has the same exact specs as the N7 but has a SD card slot and outer wear. Also has root and gapps. Might be a better alternative.
