Tab wont sync all exchange info - Galaxy Tab General

Hi
I have a tab and i also have a exchange account. When i added all the info for my account it shows that its syncing but not all the info is getting to the tab. example: i have 500 contacts but only 426 come to the tab. same goes for emails and cal.
I have done a hard reset and still the same problem.
Anyone help?
Thanks

I had the same problem as you ... nobody managed to provide a concrete solution and Samsung support keeps saying there is nothing wrong.
I suspect that there are a few things that causes this. The main problem lies in there being too many calendar event that are recurring with no end date. Change them and resync again ... it should be fine (but no gurantees).
In the end, my company switched to Google Apps. No problems with calendars, contacts and e-mails after that.

Push gmail using exchange forcing last, first name

Just got my leo and loving it so far but got one annoying problem I have used contact changer to change all my contacts to first, last name but whenever an email arrives it resyncs the address book and changes most if not all of my contacts back to last, first which is rather annoying.
Do I have to sync up with outlook then change all my contacts on there to first, last and force a sync again.
Checked my gmail account and they are all first, last as before.
I had exactly the same problem but contact changer did the trick for me.

I wish I could say the same for mine! I wonder if I used an out of date one.. will try the one in the link you sent me to see if that works
if i use contact changer, it changes them to be correct, then as soon as it gets any contact from google - it resyncs them all back to be last name first name
its driving me MAD
incidentally and on a similar topic. its not pulling thru ANY e-mail for me on the google exchange sync, its just grabbed all the folders then given up. any ideas? (ive told it to get everything in the inbox - which is only 70 message regardless of size and regardless of dates) and its conected of my home wifi so its a pretty quick connection
Ok todays update, this is really starting to confuse me....
i exported all my contacts from google down into outlook.
with them all in outlook, i changed all the "file as" filed to be "first last"
then i stopped my phone syncing contcts with google, and told it tosynchronise withoutlook via usb.
it synced fine, all my contacts were as i wanted them.... then within seconds.. the phone had updated all the contacts to be "last name, first" then it promptly synced them all back to outlook!!!!!!
how on earth did it do that?!?!?!?
This issue is really irritating, by now I'm forcing myself to get used to the lastname, firtname format.
HTC Pls fix this!
one easy solution is to stop synchronizing your contacts with Google only synchronize mail....
it will work till some solution arrives .!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Has there been any fix for this issue as yet? I'm having the same problem since syncing my WM6.5 phone with Google (Contacts, Calendar and Mail)

[RESOLVED] Active Sync - Exchange calendar syncing in infinite loop!

Hi All,
I had searched through the internet and thsi forum and could not find similar issues which I have encountered.
Just bought my HD2 and happily set up the exchange sync. Everything synced as per expected except of the calendar. whenever it synced, it goes into an infinit loop (calender entries goes into the 10s of thousands!) and doesn't stop at all.
FYI, I have checked the settings many times and I'm 101% sure that I have only set this thing to sync for calender up to just 2 weeks ago.
Due to this infinite loop, I can't sync my calendar as everytime it active sync fires up, it chews up my CPU usage to 97% and the drains my battery.
Please help guys as i'm getting desperate.
Thanks!
hi guys, any suggestions/advice? Thanks.
I work with Exchange daily, and I've seen calendar sync problems before, but never this exact problem, so the suggestion I'm about to offer is just a best guess.
I would back up my calendar folder to a pst file, and then delete all my calendar items. You can do this by changing the calendar view to "category", doing a select all, and then hitting delete. (warning, this will break any meetings you’ve setup with other people on your exchange server).
Once you've deleted all your calendar items, try syncing again. If it starts looping with an empty calendar, I'm at a loss... All I could think to do would be backup your entire Exchange mailbox to a pst, delete your Exchange account and start over, but that would be a major pita.
If after deleting all your calendar items, the looping goes away, try adding a single entry into your calendar and see if it syncs. Then try importing everything back into Outlook, and see if the looping starts up again. Hopefully it won't. If it does, it's almost certainly a particular item that's causing the problem. You'll need to import sections of your calendar and watch for the looping to start. It will just be a slow painful process of elimination to find the item that is causing the problem. Once you've found the item, try deleting it and recreating it.

thanks mate. This is similar to what I had planned for, i.e. since I was only going to sync past 2 weeks' worth of calendar events, I might just archive all events in those previous 2 weeks on outlook (PC) then proceed with active syncing on the HD2. If it works, I would then slowly port the archived events one by one and try to isolate where the problem is. Will be doing this very soon. Stay tuned and thanks for the advice!
All just wanted to say I have resolved this issue.
For some wierd reason, Active sync got stuck (running in infinite loops) at the Exchange calender sync due to some of the past recurring calender events having a 'no end date'.
To resolve this, simply delete all these recurring events bearing 'no end date' and sync again. I did that and it worked!
I have also verified that this problem ONLY happens in the VERY FIRST Calendar sync. Subsequent Exchange Calender sync for recurring events bearing a 'no end date' have no issues syncing.
woohoo!

Serious problem with syncing calendar entries under Froyo

I recently upgraded to Froyo and am now having serious problems with synching calendar items which were created on the device by third-party applications. To be more precise I used Call Log Calendar until now to log messages and calls to a dedicated Google Calendar. The entries do appear on my i9000 but never get synched to the online version of the calendar - unless I open them with the integrated calendar app and save them once (without changing anything). The author of the programm actually confirmed that this problem exists under Samsung's version of Froyo (due to a change/bug in the calendar api). All third-party programs should be affected. Could someone please confirm this?
I can confirm this after just checking my "Call Logs" work calendar and seeing zero events since upgrading to Froyo. Forcing a sync didn't change anything, either. Nuts.
maybe try re-adding your user account to the phone to sync with Gmail account
then forcing a sync, and see if successive syncs are automatic or not
You can't remove a primary Google Account unless you do a factory reset. However, I did even that. Still doesn't work. I'm loosing faith in Samsung....
samsung / google are 2 separate entities
how can you blame samsung when it's google account sync that is not working?
now if more than 51% of the XDA owners of SGS have the same problem, then we can say it's a samsung problem
but when most of the owners have no problem syncing their phones with google, then it just leaves to be a problem with the specific unit you are using, or something to do with your account
there was a trick some one mentioned on another topic to fix bugs in google accounts
you have to login to youtube or link up your gmail account with the youtube account, then it'll fix whatever was the problem that was preventing you from syncing.
i had a similar issue before and it worked indirectly, i actually found out it was a problem with the name of my account that google didn't like, according to youtube

Calendar not synching?

My HTC calendar widget has stopped working it just shows the "Loading" text and even if you go into the calendar app no events are present. Going to Sync/Accounts and selecting my Google account shows the circular arrow next to "Sync Calendar" - not sure if this means it is trying to sync, but it is there all the time and the arrow is not animated. I don't think this is to do with the Calendar app specifically, since if I use the Google widget nothing shows up there either.
Occasionally, it will work after I reset the phone, but otherwise it is mostly stuck in this state. Any tips on how to diagnose the problem or how to get it working again?
I have the same issue. I found out that when I am also using the Exchange ActiveSync calendar account sync - the calendar's functionality malfunctions more often.
I too have yet to fully understand the root cause for this isseue.
One thing, though, when calendar is stuck in syncing, it consumed a lot of cpu and it blocks other apps from working properly.
I would really appreciate more comments regarding this issue.
Thanks!
Does anything sync and do you ahve the sync service running?
It sometimes works, sometimes not. When it does, UK Holidays, Facebook and my standard Google Calendar syncs, but other calendars on GC do not. They show up on the calendars list fine, but they are not displayed. Actually now looking at it, it seems it may just be loading a cache of previous information, since there's events on the calendar that I've sinced deleted. The sync service I'm pretty sure is running, called Sync and Accounts under OSmonitor? That one's running. Everything else on my phone (Friend Stream, mail, weather) syncs fine, it's just this damned calendar.
I hadn't noticed the Exchange ActiveSync calendar prior to this - it was set to sync even though I don't have anything on it. I have since disabled it and it seems to have improved slightly, but the calendar still shows up calendars list. I've emailed HTC about this, hopefully they'll have some idea of how to fix it.
Ok quick update - HTC emailed me telling me to clear the cache. Having done so (and disabling ActiveSync which I wasn't using anyways) my calendar seems to be working. Anybody with this problem might want to try this and see if it works.
Same as you, I had lot of sync problems with Exchange. It was completely unreliable, until I discovered Laurie's blog !
http://laur.ie/blog/2010/09/exchange-2010-sp1-sync-with-android-froyo/
I installed the Google stock 2.2 email apk (as described in the blog) and after few minutes my calendar was fully synchronized and I receive emails in push. That's great
I am not sure that would solve your issue but it is worth trying it.
(make sure to delete the HTC exchange account).
Hope this helps.

Contacts dissapearing - many other issues too

Hi All
I have a Milestone 2 and have set this up so that it syncs my Hotmail (via corporate sync) and yahoo accounts. The hotmail account also syncs my contacts and calendar.
I noticed that random contacts would dissapear from my contacts list or that some would have part of their details removed (like phone numbers). On my hotmail account and outlook the contacts are still all there and fine and it is just my phone. I spoke to Motorola who told me to do a hard reset. I did this but still have the same issue. Now they want me to send the phone to them for 2 weeks. I dont see why this is needed as its obviously a software fault that they need to fix. Any ideas on how I can solve this?
I was thinking of not using motoblur and using another app to do the EAS for the hotmail account. Is this possible?
I also have some other issues I have listed below:
If set to automatic the weather widget always shows I am in Lyonsdown (unless I set it to manual and London - then it shows my local weather for London). But I want it to work out where I am wirelessly so when I move around I get the current weather where I am and not for Lyonsdown all the time.
Facebook errors all the time saying my password is wrong yet it still seems to sync OK with facebook. I have removed facebook for now as I am fed up with it asking me to continuously enter a correct password.
If I log into motoblur to locate my phone it never works and it also shows the wrong phone number for my phone.
Thanks in advance for any help.
