FAIL what you really got was a beta 2.3.3 it wasn't finished in the making it was a mistake they weren't supposed to send them out like that

Really? Lots of people got ginger back on there phones. Just curious how do you know its a mistake? Cause that's a pretty big blunder if true.

I got my G2 back yesterday with the leaked gingerbread on it as well. Only difference is that I put it on there myself before I sent it; I was very happy that they fixed the phone issues instead of feeling I violated the warranty by flashing the leaked 2.3. Was hoping they'd downgrade to 2.2 so I could root it again though.

You know when your Hero is rooted when.... you still use it in 2012, that phone is a dinosaur and still going strong with a good Rom.
You know ur hero is rooted when there are more than 25 (user)apps installed
Sent from my Hero using xda app-developers app
you know your phone is rooted when you have been running ics/cm9 way longer than many new devices
You know your hero is rooted when you're waiting for a new rom like it was Christmas eve to improve it loll
You know when your Hero is rooted when ...you change things into build.prop and after a reboot, your phone will not end up in a bootloop!
Currently running 4.2.1 and very pleased with it. But occasionally need to run an app. that no longer works on 4.2. But it does work on 4.1.
Was thinking I'd like to be able to flash a 4.1 ROM when I want. Is that possible; if so which ROM please, a CM ROM would be great?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Can't, 4.1 was never released on the nexus4.
You're better off contacting that developer and time to upgrade

There will never be a downgrade to a firmware that was never on the device in the first place. The N4 was released with 4.2, and no developer will create a 4.1 ROM for it

Shame, but I had expected that would be the answer
It's the MM Tracker application that is stuck only working on 4.1. Sadly the developer has had some hassle and isn't permitted to update anymore. Something in 4.2 broke it.
Wishing I'd kept my Galaxy Nexus as a backup phone now!

I suppose an Optimus G Rom can't be modded to work on our N4? Bluetooth issues are driving me nuts,
Edit: Never mind the Optimus G Forum is dead right now :cyclops:
