I'm totally blown away by this... I thought the bootanimation was nice but it really didnt do much until today and all of a sudden my thread blew up. So I guess I'm on the front page and thats why.

Honestly didn't expect it and was really surprised to see it today. My d/l's on it shot threw the roof over night and I was kinda baffled as to why and then one of the user said I made gizmodo so I googled "Screaming Android" and it was everywhere.
I'm actually kinda humbled cause I really didn't expect it. Sure the wife will be happy to hear it since she was kinda annoyed on the amount of time I spent on it without asking for any donations (probably will never ask) or trying to sell it.
This makes me want to release the other versions I made (like 3 more) some are un-branded. Maybe I'll look through and see what allot of you were asking for.

I can't wait to see what you do next

i know you all will miss me!
im dumping the hero for a brand new palm pre i just bought. yeah i know it's an older phone but i cannot pass up overclocking that beast to 1ghz. alot of improvements have happened since i owned one. but i have to thank the devs on here for making my hero a bit more enjoyable.
and don't worry ill be back to visit "haunt". if anybody wants a mint hero + extra's pm me.

No, the pre has a 624mhz cortex8 underclocked to 500mhz. When I had one the oc was up to 800, now its higher. I liked it, but 256mb of RAM was way to small for webOS. The laziness when the RAM filled was horrible.

Maybe they've solved the memory management problem by now, haven't checked webos much diner leaving a few months ago.

it can be overclocked to 1ghz now stable. that blows the hero clear away. meh... if i don't like it ill just sell it. i got it for free really because once i sell my hero i got my $$ back, then some.
and no they are $50 via an upgrade and full price without. i got mine for $100 new.

yeah alot has changes since i owned one, alot more apps and games plus the overclock is the seller for me. and fyi the hero has a memory leak too, always has.

ive gone through 4 hero's because of defects so im not too much concerned. im not done with android yet, just a break for awhile.

My Verizon store story.

I thought I would share this with you all. It's kinda lulzfull that people know who we are.
I am currently with T-Mobile, but am more than likely going to switch to Verizon when they become AT&T-Mobile late on this year as I hate everything that is ATT and refuse to give them my money. So anyways here's the story. Note that I am ME and the Verizon guy is VZW, and that it's kinda emelished for the lolz, but this conversation did genuinely happen.
Me-Oh hai, I'ma lookin at switching from T-Mobile to you guys and would like to ask about a Thunderbolt and see what kind of packages you all offer.
VZW-KK coolio. The T-bolt is awesome, but kinda expensive...might I reccomend the !FASCINATE!?

Great story! This XDA community (and related AC, etc.) is certainly a subculture to itself...

It's funny about that Froyo stuff given that it was really just two days away. I'd wait for Droid Charge if anything. The T-bolt sucks battery on 4G and apparently it's a hardware issue with the chips inside it not playing nice with each other.

Exactly, not made for the u.s.
It would serve no purpose to have another phone that is the same without the 3D function (which can be turned off)

I love my og evo but if that phone came out in would probably upgrade

That phone did come out.... Its called the EVO 3D... it even added the 3D feature in case you want to use it.....now go upgrade.

That seems a bit extreme. I never read one article on the Rider that failed to mention that it was only for Korea. They all said that from the beginning, at least when speculation started to rise after the 3D was launched.

i try to not waste my money on stuff i don't use. *cough* 3D ... so i doubt people wanna hear now go upgrade if the yare looking at this post.
I still don't see a phone on sprints line up i'd upgrade to from my evo... Some may be faster or better screens but i think the evo has the best design and functionality that most phones lose with the gimmicks they add such as 3d, slide out keyboards with a buncha extra keys and so on.
I'd assume thats why most people have looked at this thread I'll let 3D users be happy with there phone but a phone that is much like HTC sensation would be perfect. Hell i've considered it if i didn't wanna lose my coverage (In MY area at least) and unlimited data. honestly a hardware update of the "OG evo" is perfect. lets see this come to the states

Agreed...I bought the 3D at launch, and returned it 3 days later. Just not worth it. The hardware specs are decent, but the dual-core cpu hasn't been utilized enough to make it worthy. The camera takes up way too much real-estate on the back of the phone, was always touching it while holding normally. The 3D stuffs just gives you a headache with prolonged usage.

Talked with a Motorola rep yesterday...the Photon may be out as early as the end of the month. Doubt it'll have unlocked bootloader...and I can't stand Blur, but the hardware looks good. Basically an Atrix with 4.3 QhD screen / resolution.

****ty 3D?!?! You should read up pal. Only the camera toggles 3d and you can watch 3d movies. Its totally optional. And the camera is much better. The 4g+ is the same thing minus 3d. Find another reason to hate because that one doesnt fly around here buddy.
If you don't have an Evo 3D, well you don't have an Evo 3D.

Man you are simple minded. You say you would take a sensation bit wouldn't buy an EVO 3D..... its the same damn phone with the option of 3D. Why would you not take a free option? It doesn't hurt or effect the phone in any negitive way.

Yes, but you still stuck with that camera button scraping the chit outta your finger (yes, I know...some cases will cover it) and an overlarge camera bezel that's just in the way. Not to mention the poor placement of charge port (tho it works nicely with a dock).
The 3D is a great device...don't get me wrong, the innards are A+.

Dude...camera button has a lot of uses. I'd rather have that any day than have to search for an app.
It's one of the few things I like more about the Epic.
Forgive me, I'm not trying to accuse you of anything personally, it seems like people are just trying to find a complaint about a phone that has nothing to complain about.

Excuse me for having an opinion and then also making an observation that I even said wasn't directed at him.
A lot of these complaints seem to stem from the 3D function which is easily turned off.

Not a Goodbye thread

So I got a Epic Touch for a reasonable price that should be arriving tomorrow. Not getting rid of my Epic, but it won't be on a line. I'll be happy to test anything for people. Please feel free to contact me. I'll be lurking and helping here still. Not to fear.

Let us know how it is going from epic's QWERTY to no-keyboard.
The keyboard options for new phones are sparse and not terribly viable (droid 4's display, bootloader, etc).
It will soon be time for all of us to move on, and life in the non-qwerty world seems daunting!

Omg when my sister upgraded to the 4S on att I played with it for a bit and she got a text and I saw a little symbol in the "notification bar" uptop and habitually swiped down and forgot I was on an iphone lmfao I was like "O.O and they sue google partners over **** that people can't even see?"
I wish we had "technology courts" or something that will have judges who specialize in electronics and will actually know when a company is suing, that company also has parts blatantly stolen from "company b".
One thing I admire about apple is their control over the sheeple. Its so amazing!
