[Q]Power usage app - Desire Themes and Apps

Is there an application that shows current power usage in mA (and how many mAh left) in notification area?
I'm not looking for widget or status bar % icon.

Try an app called "where's my Droid power"

No, this app is just a little better version of Battery Usage from standard Android. This is not what I'm looking for.

You can try "Battery Droid" widget from the market but you must click the widget to obtain information

I KNOW.

Buy it. It's the best battery app ever very frequent updates !

Yeah, I'm using it now but I was hoping for something that wouldn't take precious space on my home screen.

What is the best battery app?

Im new to using android so I'm not sure on the best apps and I need a battery apparently that atleast shows numbers.
Try looking for "battery snap" in the market...its free and comes with a widget, along with some really good graphs that show how your phone is handling your battery discharge
Cheers

Super Circle Battery Widget

I am wondering if there is super circle battery widget out there. I am aware of the circle battery widget (it is very nice!), however, I am looking for something similar to the super circle's segmented battery sections. Can anyone recommend something?

Thanks for your input. However, I am looking for a widget not a status bar indicator.
Look for BatteryLife 1.33 in the market.

Multitasking question

Hey everyone,
First time android user and absolutely loving it so far!
I was wondering how vigilant I need to be in killing off background apps? Coming from the iPhone, its a very different approach. I am just wondering if too many apps running has a negative effect on speed and battery life. How adept is the OS at killing off apps that I haven't opened in a while?
Thanks so much for the input. I am loving my Atrix!!

Starting with Froyo, Android became much more efficient with managing memory. I do not run a task manager on my DX, never kill any background processes, and my phone runs great all day long.
I only use task killer to make sure I don't have any constant data streaming while I'm not using the phone.
Thanks for the input. I will have to read up on froyo and multitasking efficiency. On the same note, can anyone recommend a battery indicator replacement? Is there a way to show a percentage using the stock one?
Thanks again.

Good point I forgot about. Since Verizon is still on unlimited data (for now), I never pay any attention to what runs in the background.
I too am new and did find one app that allowed multi-tasking, kinda like the windows version of alt-tab and also kill it it too. Very simple but sees be great so far. Called TaskSwitcher. I hold down the Search button and it brings all the "windows" in the background, can go to them or hold it down and kill them. Really impressed!
Meh, with this ophone, you don't really need to worry about background tasks slowing you down.
I used one to make sure there wasn't something big in the background draining the battery but other than that, it hardly ever slows down.

is there app for battery?

hey all,
is there anywhere an app that shows how many battery each app takes? (by precentage) even if it is system app or anything
i have a problem my phone stuck on wake up and draind battery

Yeah there is: menu-settings-about phone-battery use
From there you can see how much battery each app takes. Use best after a few hours of battery usage. For more info click each app.

Battery optimization - wake locks

Is there an app that can tell which apps have wake locks requested, because my phone is showing itself as waking every 20 minutes...eating a lot of battery.
If not, I plan on building such an app. Any suggestions are welcome.

I believe BetterBattery Stats will identify things like alarm manager, but doesn't necessarily identify the app that triggers it.

you can find out what triggers alarm manager using 1 line in terminal:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17207481#post17207481
it would be great to get an app to list all of those apps that call upon alarm manager
