err wtf??
You want to have internet via bluetooth for your Android OS but via your WM6.5 OS, and how on earth do you think that is ever going to happen if you are booted into Android??
When you boot into Android Windows is NOT running, Its been kicked out of ram and you have booted into a android kernel. Windows isnt running in background keeping Android running, Windows is only used to load haret.exe, that it.

I think you have to add imaginary periods in that. Apparently he doesn't believe in punctuation and just uses gigantic run-on sentences.

Windows PC /BT PAN/ to Android. Is this possible?

Hello, and thanks for such a wonderful resource as this site is.
I've had my Sprint touch for over a year and hated all the quirks the stock winmo 6.1 had with it.
My question is: Is it possible to set up a Bluetooth Connection on a windows PC, and have it share the internet connection of the PC with Android? I remember being able to do it with my Zodiac years ago, but don't know if it would apply to Android.
I have no data plan on my phone, so I can't download the camera fix, or any applications. This is the only thing that's keeping me from wiping windows from NAND.
Thank you for reading, and your insight.
Afaik, no.

With Linux, yes, with XP, maybe, with Vista / 7 probably not. But you can't get to the market on your phone via BT pan, I've tried.
May I ask how you managed to do it with Linux? I'm running Ubuntu atm, but I haven't made the switch because of this reason as well. You are still able to browse the web using the browser, yes?

I'm happy to post it, but only some things work. Android executes some kind of connection check before letting you access most things... so, for example, over bt pan I can launch the youtube app, it will load the homepage including the thumbnails, but you can't load the actual videos. Market won't download. Google maps, however, works beautifully. I can't remember whether the browser worked or not.
EDIT: I'll have to post after I get home, it'll be a few hours. Also - I'm sure someone with come brains could make the necessary changes to make the bt connection pass the connection check. But I, sadly, have no brains. Call me the scarecrow.
Edit 2 - Ok, I must have had this going on cupcake under the old rootfs setup, because I'm having trouble with donut / noroootfs. I'll roll my test phone back tomorrow and get the pan stuff posted.
thanks for the speedy answer, i'm getting Warm Donut right now, and i'll see how it goes

Android Emulator for Winmo on htc hd2

Hey guys ,
i was thinking that it is mainly becuse of apps and games that people want android on htc hd2 since the other things can be done by themes etc,
so instead of making android for htc hd2 to flash from sd card why not try to make an emulator for htc hd2 which can run apk files or something like that since htc hd2 in wm6.5 also has enormous capacity
and i think with people in Xda doing so would be possible easily
first off in my opinion i dont use android because of apps and ggames, i use it for the user friendliness plus its far batter to use then winmo. Second we dont actually flash android on HD2 we are sorta "Emulating" already over windows

actually,no not really. Haret kicks the windows kernel out of ram and boots into android. there is almost no part of windows left running at all. It's basically like dual boot except that it switches from windows>android while windows is running.
i get what your saying and i think its a good idea
if any of you have used linux on the PC there is a program called WINE(http://www.winehq.org/) that runs windows apps within the linux os i gess you want something like this
if there was something like that i know i would use it

guys, do you even understand how winmo programs even work? -_-
Hey Splder ,
yes thats exactly what i am saying since there are already emulators for gba,gbc files(Gameboy) and even Psx(.iso) in hd2 so why not for .APK thats possible and i am working on it and i managed to install a basic apk but there were some errors

But i have an imac!!!! help!

Hi guys
i'm really thrilled about the android developments for the hd2, but have waited a while until it had been properly tried and tested and a stable build was made...
Really would like to install the NAND android But..........
I have an apple Mac!!!

Sell it and buy a pc

hopefully you have an intel mac, your only option is to use bootcamp. VMware or parallels will not work. There's no mac software for flashing
Meh, forget it.
Get the 3 sets of files you need, copy to a USB key, then borrow someone's Windows 7 PC, or go to library, Kinko's, etc and perform the work there. With the right files etc, the flashing process only takes about 10 mins max.
oh and make sure you have activsync installed. need that to ensure the drivers/connection is made
your only solution is to buy an iphone 4
lol i kid i kid.... I think you can use virtual box or something like that to use windows programs or just go to a friend house with a pc
my gosh... i didn't realise that none of this is possible on a mac.... that makes me sad...
i'm afraid my mac is rather old... but still working perfectly...
it's an imac 1.25 ghz PowerPC G4

yea you'll have to use someone elses windows machine...it doesn't take long at all just download the files you need
can i not just install the .exe file directly on my phone and open it up on the phone itself???
and i got something called " a solution " which is
1- Install bootcamp if you dont know how-to forget the whole thing
2- Buy a PC YOU WONT REGRET IT
3- Dah ... this is xda = Wm (windows) + Android (linux) no iphone so no mac sell your mac
no way respectively (regarding imac)

No, if it was that easy don't you think we all would be doing it that way? Do you not know anyone with a PC? I think it's your only option as far as I know.
hmmmmm i work in the grpahic design industry! we all use macs....
i'll have to go to a cyber cafe somewhere.....
so first i got the do the HardSPL thing and the Radio thing before i can do the MAGLDR thing and NAND thing....
wow..... i need more than 10 mins to do all that....
You NEED to use Bootcamp. I use my Macbook pro for all of this flashing I do. All through bootcamp.
If you try and install HSPL with VMWARE you will most likely brick your phone. USB connection will be terminated when the phone changes state using VMWARE.
Go to a friend, install clockwork recovery there and then you'll never need a pc again
you can flash through recovery as soon as you have installed it.

This one. Probably 90% of the design industry use Macs.

A VM with direct USB access could work, but I don't know if there is even one available on Mac and if the Mac CPU's support it (you need a pretty new CPU with Intel VT-d or AMD-Vi) and a supporting hypervisor like KVM or Xen (on Linux) or VMWare ESXi4 or higher. Maybe VMware Fusion for Mac supports it too, they do a pretty good job of Video card passtrough but I don't know about USB.
But my point is: it might be possible, but why even bother? Just get access to a Windows PC or install boot camp (if you have an Intel Mac).
You can't complain now: when you bought you're HD2 you know that WinMo isn't really designed to work with Mac (you use iSync right? It isn't even developed by MS) and it never has been common to flash from Mac (I don't even know if it is possible)

[Q] MMS Not working... Setup APN manually

Hey guys, got WP7 on my HD2 today and I was reading that you had to manually set your APN to gain 3G. I set mine up (epc.tmobile.com for TMOUS) and I have 3G, yet MMS still wont work! Have searched and searched and it seems some people's just works randomly. Halp!
try download from the market in the HTC section the connection setup... and let it configure the phone for tmobile... I don't know if it will fix the problem but theres no harm in trying
dont you have to go through that long fix to use the market....? right now i cant do that because the SDK tools wont install. says there is an issue installing .net framework 4 something or other.... :/ looks like im going back to stock 6.5 and android for now

If you cant side load the connection setup since you dont have the dev tools installed and don't have it activated with Live... No other way..
Normally it would work with the APN set correctly since theres no other options like mms ip and so on... Enjoy Android.. Lets see if in the future this issue gets fixed
Well... I guess my heart is set that I am so in love with WP7, I am going to keep trying. My issue was the .NET framework. When I try to install the SDK it says that the .NET Framework 4 blah blah couldn't install. Mind you I manually installed the .NF4 beforehand, uninstalling and reinstalling now, will report back. Until then, anyone had this problem then fixed it?

LOL. Got rid of my gaming rig... making dude with an AMD XP 2600+ 1GB Ram, and a GeForce 6800GS. get the job done, but would crumble on W7. I finally got past that point and installed the SDK. Now Zune effed up... reinstalling hoping to fix.
Hope everything ends up working for you... Aslong as Zune loads up and connects to the phone .. All you got to do is go into the market or Music while plugged in and sideloading should work
Hey i got W7 running on an Old Gateway with AMD Athlon 1400 1G Ram and Radeon 9550.. Aero and all runs fine.. Have it stored away just incase

Really? How does W7 run on that PC?
Now back on topic.... lol. So, I got Zune to load and my device connects correctly. Now chevron isn't working and apparently there is a 1% chance of anyone getting it to work on XP. Yet, I was just informed that most roms come pre-unlocked so I wont need chevron!
Now that my device is hooked up, how do I sideload? I have the connection setup ready to go.

If the ROM you have says it comes activated and unlocked with the registry changes already cooked then all you have to do is load up Zune and connect the phone.. then on the phone go to Music & Videos or the Market so the Sync Complete Screen comes up then just use TOM XAP installer or a hacked version of the Developer Application Deployment Program to sideload and .xap you want (connection setup)....
Off topic.. I just started up the setup DVD and it installed W7 on it and right from the start everything except the Audio worked and an update fixed it

What cooked rom are you using? I'd like a preunlocked one... probably make things easier.
had the same issues with t-mobile uk. downloaded the htc conntection wizard and ran that and it worked fine. also try sending a picture message, as sometimes that seems to fix the issue (i had to do this on android).
as for the chevron hacks etc, you are better off using a pre-unlocked rom. look in the wp7 development section of this forum and u will find most roms will cook it in. if u have that then your next challenge will be the windows live id for marketplace access. US have chat support for windows phone 7, but in the UK i had to phone them and just got given a code
your PC will run windows 7 fine, windows 7 needs less resources than vista, i have some very old PCs running windows 7 and they run fine, the only issues i have come across is aero not working, which i can live without.
you may find that it is a worthwhile upgrade, as not only with the wp7 dev tools be much easier to install/use on windows 7, but any updates to them are most likely to only be available to windows 7, plus XP is in extended support, meaning that updates will only be rolled out if they are critical, and most newer software will carry the designed for windows 7 logo.

Glad to hear everything started to work out...
This is how i sideload apps
Once Zune regognizes the phone and syncs succesfully while still pluged in... on the phone make sure the backlite is set so it wont turn off.. if it turns off it breaks the connection.... Once you have that set go into the market on the phone or Music & Videos... Once you go into one of those apps it will say that you are connected and it will sync briefly and say sync complete... while still in that sync complete screen start up the Application Deployment and browse to the connection setup .xap and deploy it.. If the connection Setup is signed correctly (official App) it should successfully send it to the phone and load up right away.. if not it should be in the programs list
Hmm.. alright thanks man. Ill definitely give it a shot tomorrow.

Back on topic. Its not tht hard to sideload apps.
Turn lockscreen timer to never in settings.
Open Zune. Wait for sync complete. Minimize Zune.
Deploy xap via Toms xap installer or even easier download wp7 marketplace for PC and set xap file association to have wpdeploy run on double click.

[Q] SSH server on WinMo - has someone running it ?

Hello,
I have an Asus P552w with WinMo6.5 . As I do not use it anymore due to broken display, I was thinking of transforming it into a SSH server. I found some links related to installations, however I was not succesful with running it. Has someone been able to run it and can give me some help?
I basically need it for an encrypted tunnel to parent's home network and from it, I would tunnel to their computer. And no, I do not want to install any 3rd party sw on their computer.
For example I tried one manual windows-ce-ssh-server-and-client (cannot paste link). But it fails to connect.
@dexter93 might know this. I think he's done such a thing.

OP, you need that phone in win mo? Setting up Haret with a minimal android/linux rom and adding ssh server should do the trick

The thing is that the LCD on the mobile is death. So I can connect to it ONLY remotelly (mobiler, vnc, activesync). The repair would cost more then low-end android phone/tablet. And reflash/hardreset or similar activity would make it useles brick as I cannot get over any "touch activity".
Currently I am using it for tinyCAM to do "those" things. But as it is always "online", I wanted to use it for more then simple WebCam like ssh server for example.
Having my SonyEricsson M1i Aspen with WM6.5.3. Using as an back-up phone and as an egg-timer when cocking.
Did a lotb of tweaking of the homescreen to fit me and the small Aspen screen.
Do not like the WM 6.5 and compared with 6.1, the 6.1 is way smarter. Had 6.1 with an i900 Omnia but that phone was lost when it fell out of my pocket, and just had to land in a pool of rainwater
