Setting up proxy for e-mail only - Galaxy 3 General

I'm trying to configure my exchange e-mail account with Android's e-mail app, but to access my exchange server I must go through a proxy. Can I configure a proxy server only for this e-mail account? I haven't been able to do so.
Thanks!

Download Email from exchange webmail

Dear all,
My company is running exchange server 2003. But our IT department is [email protected] in the @ss. They refused to setup the activesync for us (push mail). Instead we were asked to check email through webmail.
I wonder if there's a way to download those emails either using pc outlook or pocket outlook? the address for the webmail is something like this:
http://www.badasscompany.com/exchange/
Thanks in advance.
Regards, Notilad
Dont need setting up
Are you running sbs 2003?
if so all you need is the server ip address used for VPN.
start, messaging,menu,options or tools.
outlook email, then follow the wizard, un tick ssl on 1st page, enter ip address of your OWA if not an ip address use ping in cmd e.g ping google.com and it will return you an ip.
i have mine setup with NO server setting up required

50 email limit in Hotmail

Hi there,
I've tried searching for this but can't seem to find the answer anywhere. I want to be able to download all my hotmail emails to my HTC Touch HD, but currently theres a limit to 50 on my hotmail account.
Is there anyway of doing this? I'm sure I used to be able to do it on a previous version of windows mobile but can't seem to now. It seems so bizaare that you can't, as I often want to go back to old emails, and don't always want to go through the web to get these.
Maybe there's a better email application, or even outlook for windows mobile which I could use?
Thanks for any help,
Tom
try setting up your email account using Outlook Mobile's POP3 settings (pop3.live.com / smtp.live.com). during the setup process don't use the real email address @hotmail, or @msn or @live, use @hotmaill, @msnn or @livee. once you've completed the setup you can go back to change to the correct email account name. the only downside is you lose the push feature. your phone will poll your email account based on the interval you select during setup. i'm using this setup for my MSN account, where email arrives every 5 minutes duirng the day and every 30 minutes in the evenings.
Thanks mate, thats perfect. Don't need to have push email anyway.
Cheers, Tom

Hotmail account on HD
Hi all,
Anyway of getting my hotmail account to go through the Outlook on the phone, WITHOUT having my account on Messenger?
It seems you can only have one account setup on messenger, as as my messenger account.
Now when you setup messenger using a hotmail account, you have the option to get all emails going through the outlook, and download to the phone as normal.
BUT I dont use a hotmail account for my messenger, and my main email accoutn is a hotmail account... hope this doesnt confuse you! But my messenger is a "dead account" and any emails sent to that email go no where.
So If i try setup my hotmail account in the outlook, put in all the setting like email address, password ect, it just takes me to hotmail.com on my Opera browser, but does not save the settings in outlook?
Sorry for confusion!
Not sure I've followed you correctly.
I also don't use messenger but I do have hotmail on my device in emails tab. I used Windows Live to set it up which is on most HD roms. Once you've gone through process of setting up and sync'ing your hotmail account will appear in emails tab like any other email account
Ah yeah, but the problem is, Windows Live just like messenger only lets you have one accoutn setup at once.
So I set my hotmail up with windows live, my emails appear. Thats good.
But then it also sets Messenger up, with the hotmail account, which I dont want, if you get me?
you might be able to setup multiple hotmail accounts using the method listed here. i use this to access 2 msn accounts and 1 live account. not push, but works just as well.

change mailsender on push mail account

I community.
I have a small problem on my push mail account. At home I have a Kerio Mailserver with a dynamic adress. My smtp relay is on my a official webspace I own. The domain in the email server at home differs from the smtp domain. On my Outlook config at home, I can choose the sender adress. I have to choose the adress from my official webspace. If not, the smtp relay will refuse to send the mail. But on my Topaz I can't change the sender adress. So my question: Is there any option to do that? I have no option for this on my mailserver.
Thanks in advance for any help

Push Googlemail setup?

I'm having trouble setting up my googlemail email account such that it 'pushes'. I have managed to setup the account where it 'pulls' email down at specified times (hourly etc.) but I cant see an option for it to rely on 'push'.
Any assistance would be gratefully received
delete your googlemail account settings and use the Outlook option instead. set the username as your email address and the server as m.google.com. push is only enabled with googlemail through an exchange setup like this and not through standard IMAP as far as I'm aware.

Outlook email configuration

hi to everybody,
kindly tell me how to configure the outlook email in my htc touch2.
i'm using my company email id. is it possible to configure company email id in outlook settings. its showing "sync error".
kindly help me
I have made it for my company Exchange server. I put my [email protected],com, then put my pass, i dont put domain name, only server address: mail.company.com.
After that it must ask you what do you want to sync and will begin syncing. If that doesnt work for you, you may have problem with connection settings.
Sync Error sometimes also happens if you don't have the certificates installed. Try installing the certificates and sync again.
Server address
to find your your server address,
Connect up to your company email via VPN on your PC, go to your inbox and the address in the address bar e.g.
https://***companyservername***/Remote/default.aspx
is your server address
setup your VPN on your phone as well, and you should be ready to go
Si86
Find out the public IP address of your company's mail servers (ask your administrator), use that as the server address.
You may have to ask your mail administrator for some assitance, it depends how they have set exchange up. The good thing is, it's only a few configuration changes, unlike having to buy and install new software like you would with Blackberries...
I hooked mine up to my webmail server
and i did my gf's like this too
If you have company webamail you can input the url as your server address (assuming this has beenset up)and use your AD usenrname and password.
