Difference in bootloader version..... - Focus General

my phone has bootloader version 4.10.0.1. The other phones that i found in AT&T store have bootloader version 4.10.0.5. It looks different like color of the screen and color of the live tiles. is there any solution to get that bootloader version? someone please advice on this issue. Thanks in advance.

Hmm, sounds like a demo phone so you would need a windows phone 7 demo os... I wouldn't worry too much about it. What was different about the home screen/tiles? Different color? I only ask because you can probably simulate what that phone did already but not know it. Hope this helps =)

Home screen and tile colors are changable via color schemes. Bootloader has no effect on these OS settings. It's only job is to load OS. It's like you want a new BIOS for you pc in order to change your desktop color.

My ootloader version is also 4.10.0.1

Sorry, but it isn't what it looks like!
The Flash Demo looks great with the Black WM, but in fact it looks just like every WM version. So no black. It's just fake!
It would be awesome if we could make our WM look that way!
hopefully we can change it to look like that soon, looks really nice
This can be done with SKTools
I have just started messing with this to get it to look like the LG images. With SKTools you can change the color of every item: window, background, text, etc. It will just take some time to get everything set right. I have attached a screen shot from my touch that shows the background color changed to grey from white. Once I get the black settings to work, I will post them. Or if someone can figure it out, PLEASE post the settings!!
Don't believe everything you see on a flash website. That's marketing at play!
well you are right about marketing, but, they lie to their own customers.
if you have some coding skills you can make almost everything in the flash to happen, but the impossible stuff - you can never get analizer in WMP, and you will defenately will not get black google page, also you will not get black windows live (maybe if you rewrite it), you must also rewrite a lot from the os to get genuine black looks
some black backgrounds work with SKTools but the icons look ugly
I am pissed at LG because they advertise this product to look like in it's page but in fact they deliver regular looking WM6 device which is not so much difrend then any popular WM6 device
Thanks for your answers!
Now I'm understand
It can be close...
Here are some screen shots of various windows screens and apps that have been changed to white on black. Not sure if I like it yet and obviously LG has done some things on their flash website that appear to not be on the actual phone. If people like this look I can post the SKTools settings.
One thing to remember is that in order to put your color changes back, you need to reload the correct / orriginal values into SKTools. You can't just uninstall SKTools. The settings will stay.
Link to the application. Not free but can be used in demo mode:
http://s-k-tools.com/index.html?sktools/m_feat.html
The colors are changed in the "TuneUp!" section, under the colors tab. Many color changes require a reset to apply.

There are a BUNCH of settings that you have to change. I still haven't got the pop up window / warning messages working right. I have attached a zip file with the screen shots of my settings as they are now. You should be able to get the idea of what changes what. For reference, keep in mind 255,255,255 is white and 0,0,0 is black.

Actually, with SK Tools if you want to revert back to the original color you just have to press the file box in the upper right hand corner & select (X).
I have already done this over in a thread titled "Black Background in Applications Folder". Here is the link
It is not only the applications folder, it is an entire device color change to a Black/Slate Gray Theme.
The sys file is to be used by UITweaker.
UITweaker>SysColorChanger>Tools>Import
Many people have been requesting this across the XDA-Dev board.

Scratching head..
I'm confused guys.. what's all the fuss about? As I watch the flash demo for the KS20 on the LG site I don't actually see anything that isn't available on the phone out of the box.. with 2 mins of work, anyhow.
Both the KS20 and the KU990 (Viewty, I have one of those too ) use the nifty graphic UI you see in the demo. That being said, with the KS20 you can navigate the traditional way as well.. START | Programs | IE etc. so you can use whichever you prefer because ALL aspects of the device are accessible either way so.. maybe I'm missing the issue?
It does look very spiffy in black, I have to say.. WM6 utilizes themes and there are many already available, but of course you can always create one if you can't find one to suit your fancy.
As for black IE (and thus Windows Live, as it is currently only available through the browser if you want to use an official MS client to connect) it's a simple matter of a registry setting. Please tell me we haven't all been using alternate browsers for so long that we've forgotten that you can over-ride the default color settings in IE?
And last but not least.. the WMP issue.. haven't we ever heard of skins?
C'mon guys.. it's not so bad.. for Windows

My Homescreen

Hello, this is my second post and my second smartphone! So far i am happy with it, however im trying to install and try some of the things that i am learning here. I have a few questions.
First, the Advanced Config. I have installed some new background screens from one of the threads here. All of my screens work with the exception of my home screen. I went into Advanced Config and looked for a way to disable my current home screen and i cant seem to find it. Do i need a more up to date Advanced Config?
Second I have the t mobile version of the rhodium if i decide to install on of the newer roms is there a way to restore to factory if something goes wrong? Will it void my warranty on the phone?
Third and finally... is there a way that i can enlarge my X, and OK icons at the top left of my screen? Im using my fingers to do all the operations on the phone. Yes i know i have a stylus but i prefer to use my hands. So far it isnt a problem but it was a question in my mind.
Thank you so much for the feedback. I look forward to learning all i can about this awesome device and this knowledgeable community!
I am not too sure what you mean by home screen. Are you talking about TouchFlo? If so, what is the issue with it? You can disable it under settings, today or home.
Yes t-mobile us has an official shipped ROM, so you will be able to flash back as needed.
X-button size is what you get. I dont think you can increase the size of it. Although you might be use that, but it wont close an app completely.
As always, flashing is dangerous process. So make sure you read all the materials, before you decide to do so.

he's right. if you want the original stock rom for tmobile click on my sig where it says "TMOUSA TP2 Stock Rom". it'll put it back to normal for warranty reason. but you also need to go to the hard spl thread to lock it back up.

Basically im talking about the First screen on my phone.. my home screen.. it is still the default screen. All subsequent screens work just fine with my new backround. Im not sure how to disable it.

Can I change the blue colors of my new AT&T HTC Tilt 2?

Hi all, total newb here.
I have a new Tilt 2 from AT&T and I'm in way over my head here with changing things around (first smart phone). I've been searching these board for several days, trying different things, but I'm not having much luck. Basically, all I want to do is get rid of all the blue on the TF3D. Anyway to do this?
I'd really love a simple, sleek black theme going. I tried the Dusk theme from another thread, but that didn't work. So, in short: Is there a simple, newb-friendly way to change all that blue to black?
Thanks for the time.
I've been digging around quite a bit, and it looks like there's no easy way to do this. So I've been playing with the manila editor I found on these boards, and I have a few questions for anyone who can help me out here.
1. I have found and copied all the manilla files from the phone. I am assuming all I need to do is simply alter the images and replace, correct?
2. In trying to replace the images - changing blue to black with a color replacement tool in Photoshop - I am having an issue with image quality once the file is converted back to a manila file. Here's what happens: I save the original manila file as a .png. I then alter this file by changing it from blue to black. Then I use the manila editor to replace the file. HOWEVER - after I replace the file, the image becomes horribly dithered. This also happens if I save as a .jpg. Any way to retain image quality when converting back to a manila file?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help out.
get MaxManilla and install HDWalls
make a background using HDWalls (save the image to use as theme background so you can see it under "start" too) and apply it.
I have a tilt2 and I flashed to leo energy with dusk... love the switch !
edit:
you can also try applying the HQ Wallpaper patch
Rajinn, thanks for the response. If I may pick your brain for a moment...
When you say "flashed to leo energy with dusk," what does that entail, exactly? (total n00b, remember?) What, exactly, does flashing to leo energy accomplish? Is this something a beginner can accomplish without destroying the phone?
Looking around at the non-AT&T Rhodium, I would be very happy with the standard TF3D black version, but I'll entertain other ways to get something similar. That blue Touchflo is just too... blue.
Thanks!
Alternatively, if this is easier:
Is there a way to change my blue AT&T TF3D to the standard, non-AT&T black TF3D?

When he said "flashed to leo energy with dusk", he means he flashed to EnergyROM "Leo" (The ROM version) with the "MaxManila Dusk" Manila (aka TF3D) theme. While flashing a custom ROM, like EnergyROM, is pretty safe and has many benefits (such as faster overall speed and a superior user experience), you might not want to try it right away if you're still a bit new to your phone. I recommend you get a good feel for Windows Mobile and the Tilt2 before exploring more advanced options such as custom ROMs.
I would also follow his suggestion of using HDwalls. I've never used it myself, but it's very popular among the boards. There are also premade wallpapers here if you don't want to make your own. If you want to change the bottom slider with all the tabs, you might try this website for premade sliders.
Have had a Tilt 2 for a while now, and wanted to know the same thing. The highlight color is blue on the clock and other things and I hate it too. But I haven't found a way to change them yet. Tried HDwalls and some other stuff. Will end up flashing, just waiting for the right ROM to surface. Sorry. A far as mine tho only highlight is blue, Clear clock,no lines, curtians, sliders, ect...

I agree, and thanks for the advice. I'd be way in over my head if I tried it and I don't think it's worth the hassle.
I did manage to replace my blue clock, and hopefully I can replace the blue slider. With those two changes, I can definitely live with the remaining blue highlights.
(I now have a transparent clock with the white numbers. If anyone has a link or a .cab file for the stock black background clock with white numbers, I'd be grateful. The transparent is cool, but not quite what I'm after)
Thanks all!

When I still used Sense 2.1, this worked for me.
working on a tmo version of what you are describing...
... But the trouble is that there are so many image files that need to be converted. also, I agree abou the image quality. in fact, I found that the best way to go about changing images for TF3D is doing the complete oposite of what I was describing in my thread (signature).
the only way to make it look good is to dither it further, or make a design that uses no gradients (yes even a B&W gradient turns out bad). I am not sure why that is. maybe because winmo only supports 8 or 32 bit, and does not support 16 or 24 bit.
I have already changed my slider button from blue to black, but it is a completely different image. and yes, I had to complicate the image a lot for it to look half way decent. I kinda miss M2D in a way because if it.

Thank you, I'll give that one a try this evening.
S.V.I: That slider button is the one thing that's driving me nuts. (Well, until it's changed, then something else will come along )
So I understand the process of changing images - once I alter an image using the Manila editor and replace the manila file with the new image, do I simply replace the manila file in the /windows directory?
If so, I noted that I do not have permissions to do a copy & replace (Total Commander needed, right?). Could I simply delete the original manila file and then paste the new file (so no copy/overwrite is needed)?
Thanks!

When you finally get tired of it, which you probably will, read up on flashing. If you read in the forums for days before asking a question, read on. Flashing, to me, is more benefial than keeping the stock ROM. IF AND ONLY IF, you get a good ROM that has no issues, and stick with it. For those of us who like to flash often, it is more of a hobby to test others work, than for us to use. But if you see a great ROM that you absolutely love the look of it, read read read, and flash flash flash. Be sure to ask as many questiosn as possible before flashing, so you don't mess nothing up though.
slider buttons. hopefully they uploaded bu opera.
these are the sliders buttons that I made. sorry i can not upload any photos. dont have them. but you can try them and see which suits you. just make sure that you disable manila before installing and uninstalling them.

Home screen resolution, graphics issue

Hey guys, I've been having a very annoying issue since updating to the latest energyrom April 1st 25344 build that I never had previously. After updating (I was previously using the March 26th build w/ no issues) I have noticed a sharp downgrade in resolution and graphics (wallpaper, text) on my home screen, including slider graphics and text.
The graphics and resolution are perfect on the lock screen and start menu, just the resolution on the home screen is the issue. When I switch the theme to windows default titanium, the graphics and resolution on the home screen becomes crisp and clear....switch back to htc sense and no matter what wallpaper I use, etc., the graphics and text become blurry/poor.
Please refer to the links to example pictures below:
Perfect resolution/graphics on lock screen - crisp and clear
http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j73/Darkjin/?action=view&current=ScreenShot2.jpg
Same background using home screen using Titanium - crisp and clear
http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j73/Darkjin/?action=view&current=ScreenShot3.jpg
Same background using HTC sense w/ nrgrom Apr 1 - pixelated poor resolution
http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j73/Darkjin/?action=view&current=ScreenShot1.jpg
I have tried everything I can think of to try to correct this and get back my crisp and clear home screen when using htc sense theme. I have even re-flashed to different energyrom builds, completely different custom roms, and even flashed back to the stock rom found on these forums (2.10.0). The home screen graphics downgrade stays even when I flash to those various roms! Before I updated to the newest energyroms, everything was crystal clear. This all happened right after I updated to the new April 1st build. I've posted numerous times on the energyrom thread, but no one seems to know what the issue is.
A few other notes: Before I flash I have ran task 29 format, and after flashing the custom rom, I've made sure no apps, fonts, etc were installed. Nothing I do seems to fix this issue. I'm using a T-Mo US htc hd2 w/ hspl2.
Please, if anyone is experiencing similar issues or know of any fixes any help would be greatly appreciated. I really don't want to have to keep using titanium as my main theme just so I can have some crisp resolution and graphics on the home screen =(
I don't mean to address something off-topic here, but I'm interested in finding the theme, ROM, or .CAB file you used to redesign the standardized lock screen.

I don't mind letting you know what I did. First off, I use a custom energyrom. It's one of, if not the most popular custom rom for the htc hd2 (all versions meaning USA and international). The lock screen you see is built into the newer versions of the energy custom roms...meaning you don't need a .cab, etc to separately install it if you choose to use this rom. You can download energyrom here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591784
You don't need to search for a tmo-US version...all of his roms work on US hd 2's...he just left the tmobile stock folder (cabs) out (you can dl those cabs separately, there is a specific thread with the stock tmo us cabs in the forums).
If you want to stay stock or are using a different custom rom that doesn't have the lock screen feature, you can find the necessary .cab file to install this feature here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=637671
Scroll down the page and you should see the dl link for it amongst the tweaks. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip buddy but I've always had chainfire's drivers when using energyrom. Are you sure that is the issue? That was one of the programs that I auto-installed using the built in xda uc feature in energyrom after flashing. Even without it, the home screen graphics have always been crisp and clear so I doubt it has anything to do with that.
When I re-flashed back to the stock rom, I still had the low-res home screen...and chainfire's drivers are not needed for the stock rom...it's more tailored to help when playing gl games and watching videos (for stuttering, etc).
Thanks for trying to help...I really have searched all day for any answers...trust me..anyone else have any other ideas? Currently I have used task 29 format, re-flashed to stock rom, and have absolutely nothing installed on the device...but the low res home screen graphics have remained.
sigh..
Seeing how you look like the only person in the world with this issue , I wanted to chime in saying that I have the same problem. I am using a Telstra HD2 and have been on Energyrom for a long time. I tried the same steps you did... I even flashed the stock Telstra ROM from storage card- which theoretically should blow everything away but I still saw the same issue. Since this was the old Telstra ROM, I was shocked. Then, I reflashed HSPL, and new roms, but to no avail. Hope someone at least recognizes the issue and comes up with a solution.
i am on the STOCK Tmo US rom and i have had pixelated fonts from the very start. it bothered me the first day and then i forgot about it until i saw this thread. now it bugs me again
kind of sucks, pixelated fonts on this gorgeous screen.

Yea...I hear ya. I think I might know what the issue is...but I'm not positive yet. I believe nrg did some compression with the graphics on the April 1st rom, to increase performance. While I was using the March 26th build, I had been using hd wall because I wanted to use a nice high-res background that was fully transparent at the very top and bottom portions of the screen. Since I didn't want to go though the trouble of making my own hd wall screens...I had been using pre-made hd wallpaper (.cabs) from here ->
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=601369
I installed the HQwallpaperpatch, than downloaded the .cab file of the wallpaper I liked along with the original wallpaper. I made sure to set the original picture as my background, than installed the .cab to get the transparent top and bottom portions of my homescreen.
I believe due to the compression that was done in nrg's Apr 1st builds, the hd wallpaper patch/wallpapers were no longer working like they were in the previous builds. So if you would like you could try to revert to a previous build, download hdwallpatch and try one of the .cabs from that link..it may work. When I get the time I will try it myself and post if it worked or not.
I came to this conclusion after I saw my friend's htc hd2 on stock rom. I was very surprised to see that his home screen was a bit pixelated....so I thought to myself...maybe it was because I was using the hdwallpatch and hdwallpaper that I had a crisp high-res home screen. Maybe the home screen was always a bit pixelated and I had just not noticed...
Hope that made sense!

Windows Phone 7 on HD2 another video (looks more real than anything else?)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkhlvQKUfwE
This is a video made by a Chinese guy posted 4 days ago.
The guy is saying that responsiveness of WP7 on HD2 has been solved, and that he will release the ROM soon for everyone to test.
What do you guys think? Is it another fake?
BTW, the video is from the link below.
http://www.dimboy.cn/viewthread.php?tid=9625&extra=&page=1
Link does not work. It says its blocked in my region.
It's not HD2, look on buttons of phone
jhruda:I believe it is HD2. The buttons are exactly the same as mine. (well its hard to see in that video,so I may by wrong)
Also it looks like some kind of WP7 theme we are seeing everyday. Nothing really "WP7 genuine" is being shown.
not wp7 it is a skin for a certain application like spb
The thing that makes me doubt it are the apps, he has coreplayer and other old softwares installed on his phone, and the xbox live tile leads to an application screen, so it's most likely a skin.
it is a hd2. the buttons u see are virtual on the screen, at the beginning u see the whole device, where u see the 5 normal hd2 buttons ^.^
At the moment it looks like Windows Phone 7 will suck totally and you could just buy an iphone instead. So who cares if someone can port it on the HD2 or not?
sorry my mistake. I only looked on the software buttons... which i think has to be hardware buttons, so i think it's emulator
to verify that there isn't a fake, they must leave a terminal reboots and starts with windows phone 7
