[Q] MAGLDR_UBUNTU_Working - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

phoenixtraveller said:
Hi... Got Ubuntu working on Magldr - sort of... but can someone tell me why it stops at desktop ubuntu?
I copy all linux files to sdcard \linux and setup magldr sd-boot to here.
COPY (not renamed) initrd.cpio.gz to initrd.gz and adb_zimage to just zImage.
partitioned sd card previously (on another hd2) with 4096-ext and 256-cache with 16gb sd using CLOCKWORK OF COURSE.
NAND=clockwork/blank at the time (also tried DFT-android-flash.cfg/layout/install: does this matter/affect? how does ext2.rootfs mount?)
anyway... YES! It boots...
But can someone help me/make a boot.img+system.img(containing FIXED initrd.gz and zImage) PLEASE - and proper flash.cfg for daf.exe ???
or UPDATE.ZIP for clockwork install ???
Thanks.
Will donate $.

ubuntu/magldr/clockwork/hspl+HD2.
ALSO:
How to mount rootfs.ext2 to YAFFS2/Nand? or even data.img? or sdcard partition ? GpartedLive? Please: just want a simple boot.img+system.img combo that will allow daf.exe to install (correct parts etc) Ubuntu to NAND - and if this not possible then at least cut down version (resize rootfs.ext2 and mount to sd???) for AD SD BOOT. Can anyone please help?
Thankyou.

I don't know how to partition my sd card in windows 7 can somebody help me?
Just use magldr 1.11
This makes it on its own...I don't have my HD2 in front of me right now, but check out the magldr options on your phone, you will find it
Hi,
Windows 7 cannot create EXT4 (or any EXT for that matter) on its own.
You can use tools like GParted.
Here is a guide that will explain what you need to do:
[GUIDE][9-JAN] How to partition your SD card correctly for APPS2SD+ ROMS.
Hope this helps. Cheers.

Extract the files to the root directory of your sdcard
Start recovery within MAGLDR with menu point "AD SD"

SD card is 8GB, class 4 (I suppose). Cant swear how exactly it was formatted, used gparted default options.
Any help appreciated
This probably isn't the answer you were looking for, but cLK 1.5 supports repartitioning on the device. It can also be installed via sd card. It's aim (amongst other things) is to completely remove the need of a PC, in case you have a broken USB port.
cLK thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1114053&page=96
The only thing that is holding me back from clk is the rmnet issue. I will probably find a pc and do the re-part that way, or try with a smaller, freshly formatted 2 gb SD card.
will report if I succeed with the SD mgldr method.

MAGLDR + Recovery
When you are flashing the recovery (after flashing the MAGLDR), there is a flash.cfg file (text-file), which configures the partitioning. You can simply change the corresponding values before flashing.

I know that. The problem is that the kernel, which should boot the install procedure of CWM( and the process of re-partitioning) never actuall starts...

he can't install that warez in his PC/ NB.
@LinChina
i think recovery(CWM) only makes EXT3 but i'm not really sure about that, your best bet is use a pc that can have those warez on it
or this, if you can place & unzip the file in your NB
3a Use the provided 4EXT recovery (NAND or SD version) to create the partitions and format them.

NativeSD Dual Installer v2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31110719&postcount=2
Now I know ..but the first post is for people who don't have magldr or android on nand....SD recovery is not needed when you have cwm recovery inbuilt in magldr
Easy steps
1. Use minitool partition manager on PC to make sdext4 partition (cwm makes only ext3 ..so is not useful)
2. Copy your favorite native SD rom zip folder to SD card
3. In magldr ..go to ad recovery..install zip from SD...then follow instructions ..default path install is SD ext
4. Reboot
Enjoy

Hi everyone, it only looks that I'm a new user, it's because i've never posted anything before. I have Hd2 for almost 2 years from now and like 1,5 year being passive user on XDA. Anyway I do have problems that i can't manage myself. OP asked a dumb question, only if he has Android Nand or Windows Mobile, however... nobody ever tried making it work with WP7? I've been working on it few hours and don't have a clue how to do it. I've deleted my FAT32 partition and split it into Fat32+Ext4. If EXT is logical, WPH boots and show "Storage Card not working", but if it's primary it doesn't even boot. Is there anyway to solve this thing? Any help much appreciated, thanks.

I like to try nativeSD Android roms, but with MAGLdr it runs into a deadlock as MAGLdr does not support WinMo 6.5.
Is there a way to use NativeSD? even better with multiboot?

you must copy the 2 files from "<SDCARD>/NativeSD/ACA" to "<SDCARD>/NativeSD" (and not to "<SDCARD>/" )

but I got already 2 file in there (zImage & intrid), do I have to relace them? Anyway if I try to set up the AD SD Dir from Magldr I do not see the NativeSD folder so will not boot anyway. I think I have problems with 4EXT but I am not sure.

yes, you must replace the 2 files...
why you can't see the folder: check on a PC, if the folder has hidden attribute... or try to create a new folder, copy all files from the old to the new, delete old and rename new folder...

ok, I will replace them.
Why I do not see the folder? I ask my self the same question and I don't know why, anyway my card is recognized and the folder is there, if will be hidden I will not see the folders, I also put different card into my hd2 with different folders and still the same. I think the 4EXT recovery make something wrong with partitions or I do.

note : keep both recovery folder and your Rom zip in fat32 partition and start the process
1. Boot into recovery by executing the usual clcad and haret stuff inside the Recovery folder.(download recovery_4EXT2.2.7_leo_sd.zip)
2. Flash the ROM.zip package and follow instructions
3. Reboot and boot the ROM by executing the usual clcad and haret stuff inside the NativeSD folder.
Thanks.
Fork fine now.

first you need 4ext partition on your sd card...Then
Extract and copy 4ext Sd recovery folder from the native sd thread onto your sd card
copy the zip file(dont extract) of your chosen nativesd rom to your sd card....then follow the instructions in above post

Another simple question - Flash the ROM.zip package and follow instructions - What does that mean (Flash the Rom.zip)??
Chris
- Copy nativesd rom package to your SD card for example. "Mokee_V1.6B_NATIVESD.zip". Do not unzip
- Run clrcad.exe and haret.exe from 4EXTRecovery. That will bring you to rom installation menu which you can choose Mokee_V1.6B_NATIVESD.zip
