Bricked my streak.....please help!!!!! - Streak 5 General

........................

Try the QDLTool, it was able to unf*ck anything I was able to do on my streak, even when it was in a boot loop doing a factory reset. The hardest part about it is getting the right USB drivers installed.

Streak Not Booting After Flash... Please Help!

I just rooted my streak as normal and now it will not boot.
When I turn it on, it just displays ''dell'' but stays there forever.
I flashed it before and it was fine but now it is stuck.
Any way I can fix this?
i am no expert, but you'll have to give a lot more information than that
16.?
2.1 ?
versions
how did you flash?
how did you root?
to "fix" your Streak, reverting back to the Update.pkg should get you back working

2.1
Build 6267
How can I flash it when there is no superboot 6267 version yet?
Basically What happened is I upgraded my streak from 1.6 to 2.1
I downloaded root explorer but it would NOT work as my streak was not rooted.
I then rooted my streak using superboot but it was for the old version 3883.
The phone did not boot after this. I then tried superboot for build 4399, same thing the streak gets stuck on the dell logo.
I then looked for build 6267 which is what I have but it does not exist.
I wanted to root my streak with the new 2.1 version but it failed and ever since I'm stuck with the dell logo.
I know I can simply reinstall 2.1 but I will have to reinstall all my apps and set my phone up again.
Is there any way I can recover or somehow go back to the build of 6267 WITHOUT losing anything or reinstalling?
The last thing I want to do is reinstall 2.1 all over again...
I just reinstalled 2.1
Works fine now only I need to put all my apps back on as well as configure/setup all the settings...
I am noob in phone flashing. but after goin thru all sources online.. I tried flashing my Streak 5.
I tried rooting with "SuperOneClick2.2", but it was not detecting phone model or so.. So I tried Superboot... after android interface drivers installation.. phone was decteced in FASTBOOT mode and message in phone showed root installed.
After that, my phone is continually flashing the buttons & showing DELL's white logo on the black background.
All procedures were followed to the dot. However, as suggested in the post & elsewhere, I "factory-resetted" the device. Not worked. I then reverted back to the Android 2.2 "Update.pkg" I had in the sd card. Update was done as usual. But the phone just didn't get ON.
That was yesterday. Well today, all of a sudden, when I tried to on the phone, it started!!!!
But new problem, the phone is not rooted. Checked out with the Android emulator. Tried the whole procedure. Went through the same steps. Problem repeated. Solved. Again & again.. the phone refuses to be ROOTED!!!
What could be the problem?
First of all dont bump a year old thread,
secondly superboot will brick the streak as it's designed for a different rom,
thirdly use the guides on xda/wiki to reinstall with a update.pkg,
fourthly there's a guide halfway down the page currently in the dev section on how to root correctly
Use superone click
One click rooting methods are not infallible. The recommended way to root is to manually install StreakMod Recovery then Superuser.zip.

Someone Please help! I cant get past the Dell Logo!

Hello all. Ok, I had my Streak on Froyo 2.2 via Dells 318 rom. I decided to do a factory whipe. When I booted the phone back up, I was stuck on the Dell Boot Screen forever. I cant figure anything out. I have the 309 recovery image and did all of this with Fastboot. It seems like when I put the phone in fastboot, it goes in fine. I also have the StreakMod recovery I believe it is on the phone as well. Im trying to do everything and cant get my phone past the Dell boot screen. I tried searching everywhere. The thing that gets me is that when I plug the phone into my computer, the comp doesnt bring up a drive to recognize the SD card? I have no way of accessing it through the phone. I have a card reader and can get to the files from that.
Can someone please give me a step by step on what to do here? I went from ATT 1.6 to O2 1.6-2.1 then 2.2. Its been a couple of hours now and I just cant seem to figure this out? Please someone help me? THank you
You can not have 2 recovery's on at the same time its aether 309 recovery or streak mod recovery
If i was you i would re flash the 309 recovery then reinstall the 308 package
the 308 package will only install if you have 309 recovery
Good luck man. I went thru a nightmare like this last night. I ended up getting qdl tool to work and finaly got it to boot. I "THINK", if you can get qdl tool working you might be able to save alot of headache.
I was on the ota 319 and went back to att 1.6 so i could get it setup with 318. Im still confused on how i actualy got it to work.

QDL issues

Ok so I just got a replacement streak. I loaded streakdroid 1.9 on it, but decided I wanted to go back to stock. Well, I had it all screwed up. But where I'm at now is trying to run QDL tool, and it will not finish. I've searched and searched, (2 days) and so far, nothing I've tried is working. I tried updating the drivers multiple times, nothing. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. It errors out after wait for4 ADB device. Can someone give me a hand on correctly installing the drivers? I've read and read, still nothing. This was my last resort to post this.
Nevermind. Finally got it!

[Q] Nexus 4, 4.3 Update, and Royally lost my phone

Hey all, my name is AJ and I'm currently in a dilema,
Currently I have a Nexus 4 with TWRP v2.5 on it.
And in the current state that it's in, It has no ROM to install from. And because of the 4.3 update, I can't even seem to get past the google or the x logos. And to make matters worse, I never got to even plug in the phone to my computer so at the moment my computer doesn't even recognize the phone. I'm on the brink on losing it and I have no idea what to do. Could anyone help me out? I'm pleading for your assistance.
Hold volume down while booting to enter bootloader. First I would boot into recovery and do a factory reset to see if that will make it boot. If not, you should be able to use fastboot to flash the factory images using efrant's guide in General. Fastboot will work in bootloader. Just skip the recovery. You might try erasing each partition before flashing.

Good luck. Learning to fix your phone with fastboot is the best way. You'll be able to fix almost anything from here on out.

Make sure to use the 4.3 images. If that won't work, you can always go back to 4.2.2.

So currently, I'm in the process of getting the drivers, but the thing is, my computer can't even recognize that there's a phone connected. And when I check my computer, I'm really not to sure which options to choose from. In efrant's guide, I tried locating devices but to no avail I don't see it in my menus. If at all possible would you be willing to work with me through skype? I'm a complete and utter noob.

Check your PM.
There is a bug whereby if you have a 16 GB phone your phone will only register as being 8 GB after flashing 4.3. If you have a 16 GB phone and you only see 8 GB, reset it to factory within Android and it should show up as 16 GB. I learned about this the hard way.

The thing is I can't even restore back to android on TWRP v2.5.
I have no ROM to reset to or even load.
So getting to factory settings is really what I would like to do.

This contains the image you will need to restore your phone...
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
You will restore your phone through fastboot (you don't need to go into recovery for this).
I read in your above post that you're having trouble getting your computer to recognize your phone. Get into fastboot mode and plug your USB cable into your computer -- you should see under Android Device "Google Nexus 4 BootLoader Interface". If you don't see this, most likely you have a driver issue. I was having this same issue, but attributed it to a bad/old driver since I hadn't updated my drivers since I rooted my phone almost 8 months ago via mskip's Nexus 4 Toolkit. To fix this I completely uninstalled the Android driver, restarted, and installed the latest Nexus 4 driver from Android SDK Manager.
From there you should be able to follow efrant's guide. Like estallings15's posted, this is an awesome way to learn how your phone works. I think the way most of us go into the inner workings of our phone was by totally blowing it up and needing to reload it back to stock. You might hate it now, but in the end you will look back and be happy you had the experience.

Thanks a lot for the help guys!!
I finally got it working after a good while. And after rebooting and deleting my old drivers, I finally got the PC to recognize it. Efrant's guide was excellent, but I just had a few issues getting command prompt to work, I'm a COMPLETE NOOB with it. HAHAHAHA:laugh:
Anyways, I'm finally back on 4.2.2 with CWM. Definitely well worth my time I do say so my self.
Isn't the available internal storage for 16GB is 12.92GB ?

Yes, that's what it's supposed to read. For whatever reason I was only seeing a little over 5 GB when I flashed the stock 4.3 image, and thus, had to reset to factory to fix it. The fun part was that I already had everything set up the way I like it before I had to factory reset. :silly:

Flashing software

Okay I'm having another stab at repairing my device, because it CANT be broken, it broke from an OTA update to 4.4, but i've used the restore back to 4.3 from Advent but still nothing, I have tried a few things, it gets stuck at the TEGRA Note logo so it has to be something with the boot, I did notice in CWM it couldn't mound the data partition but i fixed that by flashing userdata from fastboot, still got the stuck on boot issue, I'm trying a zip of a 4.4 rom, then i'll try it, if it doesn't work I'm gonna try a 4.3 boot img but i don't know if that will help. Any ideas?
Can you get it into APX?

Yes which I used to do the Advent apx restore. That was the first ever thing I tried after the OTA failed, you'd expect it to fix it since I had 0 root, 0 custom rom or anything, it was an official OTA that broke my device but the advent apx did not solve it.

Did the transfer seem to go ok, were there any messages? I only ask because I had a problem where in APX and flashing back to 4.4 using Super Tools it gave me an error right at the end and kept getting stuck at the boot logo. Another time it would flash ok but system processes kept crashing etc on boot.
I found out that using a different usb port on my laptop solved all the problems, I haven't had any trouble since doing that. I don't know why or if it will help your case to do this but maybe give the nvflash another try using a different USB port and see if it makes any difference!

I've tried both the super tool 4.4 flash and APX multiple times, the super tool just gives an error and doesnt flash system, boot or recovery images. APX doesn't seem to give any errors. Tried on both the USB 3 ports and USB 2 ports and with 2 cables, the official one and the cable for my LG G2.
