Custom Startup Animation

Hi folks! Been Browsing your pages a lot these days and I like your stuff. SO I thought I'd sign up and give something back to you: A custom startup animation for the X1. Put the file into Windows folder (overwriting the original) and there you go. Warning: You cannot do this over ActiveSync! I'm not sure if it works with the built-in file explorer, I did it with RESCO Explorer, works fine after confirmation. Make sure you have a backup copy of the original file somewhere. I'd be glad to hear some comments Tell me if you like it or not and WHY. If you don't have any idea what this is gonna do: It will change the animation right after the Sony Ericsson logo when you power it up. Sony Ericsson logo before and Windows logo after remain untouched.
EDIT: Just found out that I have to ZIP the file... Otherwise it becomes JPG. So Download, Unzip, and THEN copy.

Well I kinda made one too. Just for fun.
If the startup animation doesn't show up, download the ALLOWANIM.ZIP file, extract and merge the registry settings in your x1.

Nice idea to refer to the startup logo

And another attempt by me, this one's a little bit more exciting and I've stolen your idea about fading the logo PSD this time included.
The animation goes like:
Fade out SE logo
Show "Sony Ericsson" text with a shiny animation
Fade in white glowing "X1"
Fade out glowing "X1"
Hope you like it, haven't tested it yet on my X1.

There's been many downloads already, please post some feedback!

To be honest I find that huge X1 to be annoying lol
PS: Is anyone even liking our efforts or is this a huge waste of everyone's time? Let us know...

A video or image would be nice during the start up.. im lazy to install then uninstall if i dont like it

@ DeeChan: How come you don't like the big X1? Cuz it's X1 or because of the design?

Cool! But I would prefer it if the "Powered by Windows Mobile" etc were present all the time, and the animaiton could be more smooth (Though I'm sure you've invested quite a bit of time into this... Respect!).

i like the start up logo with the paper plane...Genius
But it doesnt let me replace the original file using the in built Phone file explore.
Wot else can i use besides resco??

my x1 only has SEMC2904.bmp in windows folder, im using resco.
so tried to change name of SEMC1904.gif to it and says cant overwrite because its part of rom.
what am i missing ? please help

Sigh: neways 1904 is the animation, and part of rom but it won't do anything but play at the boot so safe to replace from rom.
The 2904 is part of the static splash screen with the big green SE logo. Replacing it won't damage anything. Safe to replace.
If you want bootscreen change, just replace welcomehead.192.png, again safe to change Have fun.

So sexy! Now one last thing: I'd make it stop some time once the I SE live is there, a still picture for say 1 sec. Otherwise it will directly go away during boot. Nice work! What apps did you use?

WM 6.5 animated boot screen?

can we change the boot screen to an animated gif somehow?
I've tried some of the cabs on this site and other sites with no luck. I've tried putting animated.gif into the windows folder with no luck.
am I missing something?

i was able to do it
but i forgot how
i think directly in the registry i'm guessing (search for welcomehead)
i'm talking about two secondary splash screens (like in advanced config)
to change the first two splashes i've used the bootsplash kitchen

but the .nb image creator doesn't support .gif files as best i can tell

too bad it does a hard reset. Gif's are listed as working so they should work (as they are the only ones that 'move'.)

its not supposed to cause a hard reset...
i used the kitchen within the last week and the first time it worked
the last time caused a hard...
i also tried animated gif and it didn't work
only non-animated for the first two....at least using this tool...
never actually seen an animated gif on the first two before...so
(i think the successful bootsplash was by using the sd card instead of the ruu)

make sure you put your (both secondary) splash images in windows directory...
helps with load time...and delay settings...
still not 100% that entering the gif in the registry is working...but i think it will
been resetting my device for a couple hours straight trying to get all the settings right...
i'll post up what results i think i figure out...lol

I used the sd card and it works to change the picture on the first and second images of the boot sequence. But no animation thus far
I've looking ever since I tried one of Ryan's light 6.5 roms. He had an animated lightning strike a tree, and it looked pretty dope!!! I think I might track him down...........

There is a utility in the PPC Kitchen that allows us to add animation to one of the start up screens. I added the Windows Vista logo with a meter below it. Works fine for a couple of seconds till the meter freezes.

whoever is cooking the roms for you must tell it NOT to skip the animation. then you can change the animation.

im not sure if this would help but i think that there was a change icon application, in the options menu i think it said bonus and when i taped it it let me change the boot screen i used the windows phone 7 gif and the windows phone png along with the vista boot sound
hope this helps if i can remember the app i will tell you but it would be better if you searched in the xda engine

[SOLVED]Making BOOTSCREEN, which gif editor?

Hey, I'm trying to make some bootscreens but I dunno which gif editor to use, both Ulead and Animation Shop Pro give me gif files that dont play properly, they come up as static :S Anyone gimme any pointers?
[I'm trying to make a bootscreen where it shows the HERO with the android boot.gif (and removing the "HTC" animation frames), then the nexus boot1.gif then looping nexus boot2.gif, if anyone can make a boot_animation.xml file, I'd greatly appreciate it]

EDIT: SOLVED, GIMP works brilliantly.

psx boot for tp2!!

Copy two files to device and use advance config - htc animation - to edit the wav and gif as your startup boot animation

Thanks for the boot sound and gif. Side note I was not aware of. Can't place these on the storage card. Probably most people knew this already...this is the first time I changed my EnergyRom settings. Easy fix...threw them in the windows folder.
Wish the .gif wasn't 'squished'. Resolution on the phone probably makes a better animation quite hard?

I have been messing with cropping the video to make it look better, ill post a better gif later

Can you make a xbox360 animation. I don't know how.

It has to be on your main memory, wont work on Storage Card.

why is the xbox one 15mbs? also the psx one is awesome!!!! reminded me of when i used to love the sound of that!!!!

oh I didnt see the size of it when i made it.
I would believe cuz gifs are just frames and there are bunch more frames for the xbox360 boot
Ill see about making it smaller in the future.
I've been also trying to find ideas for more boot screens, Ive been messing with animations. Please tell me what you think would be a good idea

How about some movie splash screens, like MGM or New Line or something like that, you know how the screens from the begining of a movie.

Bootanimation for CM6

Here is my variant of bootanimation.
For them, who notice it in CM7 tread: this is fixed version, tested on my phone (sorry i was doing it first time).
There is else a gif preview in draft quality. I hope you enjoy it!
How to setup: (for such noobs as me )
1. Install some file explorer with root access (I used eStrongs)
2. Replace the file bootanimation.zip placed in folder system/media
3. Reboot
P.S. I think everybody are welcome to post here your bootanimations.

-r0bin-, actually, for me it`s more usefull to call my phone hd mini. I really don`t know why its called photon. So what do you think about some small text under Android logo: htc hd mini loading...
Else I have an idea to make android logo, not green but yellow, as our phone is inside, what do you think about it?
iPlasm, I`ll make another one simple version whith just fading effect, just in a few days.

Hi guys, I found this very old animation here on xda and made ​​some changes. Tested on my phone with Froyo.
(Here's how I changed bootanimation; Replace the file "bootanimation.zip" using DroidExplorer : system - > customize - > resource)
