Ipod touch isn't carrier specific....

hfdsocko92 is right.. No iphone, ipod touch is an mp3 player, no you cant use it as a phone, yes you should be able to skype. Its a hotspot case for ipod touch. Limited to 2 devices from what I read in reviews. Including the ipod touch. Also 3g may not be good enough to skype. Depends on your area. Look at image closer you can tell its an ipod with an attached case.
Contracts are too tight. Sad to say we may not see iphone on sprint for a long time.
We should be free! Pick plan then phone unlocked.

100% an. Ipod touch with a zte peel on it. A friend of mine just came back from china with a peel he picked up there. It dosent work here, but just by holding it, I can tell I was impressed. Very lightweight and well form fitting. Also, if the ipod touch is unlocked or jailbroken or whatever, you can d/l an app to make phone calls without skype using 3g. The app is also by zte.

Didn't congress pass a bill stopping one carrier from preventing another carriers phone from being activated on their network? It was brought upon by the "monopoly" ATT has on the iPhone I think

But it is noticeably smaller...my sisters iPhone4 is soooooooo tiny in my hands lol also, the camera is nice on the iphone 4.

I give you 14 days after you switch and you will come back to the darkside lol. From what I've heard from friends who all went to AT&T because of the iphone is that their service is absolutely terrible. Wished that they had never switched. But to each is own. Good luck with your future endeavors.
If you plan on going on at&t get the iphone. The iphone is great for hacking and you'll have less trouble breaking it when you do. I mean, once you jailbreak it, you're pretty much set on the idea of it getting bricked. I had a jailbroken ipod touch, and it was great. Never had a problem at all.
And reverting back is so simple; you just have to update it on itunes!

Abyways yeah just go with the iphone. It just works.
But if you have an ipod touch...I don't see the reasoning behind this lol
Also, yeah I always thought people were exagerating about atts network, but I'm always hearing my sister shout "UGH MY SIGNAL DIED!"
Also, another complaint she likes to yell when people call her is "MY MINUTES!!!!! Text me!!!!!"
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I would not get the iPhone 4 at this point. The iPhone is due for an update this summer, so you might as well wait for the iPhone "5" then. IMO, Odin is as easy to restore as iTunes is, just a little more complicated at first glance. Also, if you are in to jailbreaking(rooting essentially)/unlocking your iPhone when you get it, you will have to be very knowledgable with terminology, like "tethered, baseband unlock (if you want that), SHSH, etc." iTunes makes it *very* easy to update your phones firmware, which can be a bad thing if you are into jailbreaking. An accidental update may keep you un-jailbroken/carrier-locked until a new exploit/tool is released.
I suggest educating yourself with the estimated release of the iPhone 5, and everything to do with jailbreaking/unlocking. Enjoy.

I wouldn't even consider it.
Not because it's WM7.
Not because it's "older technology."
But simply because it doesn't have a Wimax radio and yet it has the extra $10 charge.

Windows phone 7 is awesome, had hardware acceleration, Xbox live gaming (friends etc), and I'd very solid. Its just that the arrive itself would be a downgrade even though it has a 1ghz snapdragon the screen is really small. Hardware keyboard is amazing and the phone itself is a very solid build. The 720p recording owns the evos video recording by a long shot. If the arrive was the HD7 (the t-mobile windows phone) I'd say trade your evo for it in a heartbeat since its the same specs but better gpu but no hdmi. If sprint gets a 4.3" wp7 phone like the hd7 or even a dual core im jumping ship.
Verdict: Arrive is pretty much a wp7 evo shift. Screen is 2 small for me but its a great device. I've used it personally. No 4G is a deal breaker though.

People **** on WP7 because they have no idea and they're wanna be fanboys. I love android to death but I can honestly say wp7 is a pretty sick OS. I believe by 2012 WP7 is going to give android a run for their money right now especially because they're already a household name; pushing out updates and playing catch up is what's going on now just give them time. The same happened with android surpassing iOS they just needed time. The new wp7 mango update is a huge leap for them. Like I said just give them time; sprint needs a 4.3" wp7 phone asap man the social and enterprise integration on wp7 is just beautiful.

It was really cool since I had experience with the zune marketplace before so it wasn't new to me. I freaking love the deep Xbox integration how you can unlock achievements and play multiplayer games with friends etc. Xbox live integration is enough for me to drool of a dual core wp7 phone. Their marketplace is coming along nicely I might add. If you really wanna play around with the arrive don't trade your evo just buy one off Craigslist. I saw a few about 160+; very cheap 9 outta 10 phones.

I've owned iPhones, various Android devices and I currently have an Arrive. The screen on the Arrive is a downer when compared to the Evo. However, the colors on the Arrive seems a lot more crisp. in my eyes, The Zune Marketplace is a winner . I think its better than iTunes and way better than Google Music. The games that available in the marketplace for wp7 i ls also amazing. The keyboard is a really nice feature and the on-screen keyboard is one of of kind...its the most accurate keyboard I've ever used.
Some of the things I miss on Android and isn't available for wp7 users is Google maps, Latitude and the ability to text over !60 characters.
Nevertheless, both devices are wonderful devices.

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a att branded Nexus S, found one on Craigslist for $300..
I think its a fair price, Guy is local and I'm tired of my Inspire.
Reasons I would like to buy it, smaller screen size, pure aosp, battery life...
I just got the inspire about 3 months ago and will more then likely keep it..
What are things I should look for to make sure it is the real deal or just in general?
Any help is appreciated honestly.
I know I could wait for something better to come out ina few months but I don't use my phone for gaming, just purely alot of web browsing, texting and surfing forums..

Only advantage to the Inspire is screen size. I have owned a Inspire and currently own a NS4G and I like both, but Nexus is smooth. When I buy phones I really just check cosmetic and play with it and check about phone to see what its on and browse the interwebs for a few.
Make sure it is truly the i9020a version and not the i9020t or some other variant. Otherwise it isn't truly the AT&T phone (would not work with 3G otherwise).
What should the about read besides 2.3.4 which kernal is stock etc and thanks for the replies guys keep then coming please

The AT&T nexus s is only $99 on contract, so $300 for LBNIB isn't sketchy--but the white ns for $260 kind of is. I say meet with the guy if you like the price, inspect for damages and all accessories, then stick your sim in and wait for that 3G or H symbol to pop up. Also make test calls and take pics to ensure speakerphone/mic/camera/etc. is working.
I just bought a LBNIB for $325, so $300 is a good deal imo.

Turns out the reason he mentioned his friend was because they are old business partners and the actual seller wouldn't be able to meet me in person, because he would be at work, so he is going to give the phone to his friend, who he trusts to meet up with me.
I didn't ask the guy where he worked but his friend works downtown here and it's not to far for me, so hopefully all goes well..
So I have a opportunity to use the stratosphere (temporarily) for a few weeks. I'm an Epic user. I got to say that this phone is the Epic done right. I like how the usb port is on the bottom of the phone which doesn't block the headphone jack with a L shaped charger. The phone is running Gingerbread stock. LTE definitely has better coverage in my area. The back piece is textured and feels good in your hands. It's definitely the Epic done right but it's late to the party. For $99 its not bad.

I love my Epic. And if I had to switch to Verizon, I would want this phone. At least until I could afford a nice, new, shiney phone with a bigger screen and no slide out keyboard. I'm getting so tired of the thickness of my phone for a keyboard I don't use.
I think it's kinda weird, though, that Verizon is getting this, considering I thought that the Epic is nearing it's EOL.

This is better than the epic in every way except processor power which is the same and camera.

A coworker got two stratospheres for free on launch day at radio shack. Great phone for free! The battery looked different to me. Jealous watching him pull 13mbps down on LTE.

Hmm very nice I'm jealous too, but ask him in the end of the month when he goes over his data cap. One more thing What's the point of having extremly sexy speed when you only have extreamly ugly data limit.

Puts my internet usage into perspective which is very high.
On another note it makes zero sense to me why the stratosphere has GB and the Epic doesn't.

Other than Sprint no longer gives a crap about their customers nor giving out free upgrades that may overload their tech support lines? Yeah me neither...LOL! Sprint now sucks monkey balls!

My cousin just bought a droid 3 (lul) and he went over his 2gb and got charged$10 a gb after that but he didn't know that gps uses data and syching his account in the background andfacebook etcetc uses up his data allowance that fast.
I'm grateful for unlimited and I'm lucky enough to be from nyc so I get great coverage and speeds (till I leave the city :[ )

what's gonna happen when my Epic uses 4g?

Whats going to happen is that I am throwing my Epic4g into the trash the INSTANT there is an LTE network in my area and a Samsung Galaxy S III with LTE available.
Wouldn't the wimax network have allot less users when everyone starts moving to LTE? Shouldn't that make wimax faster until they kill it off?

I only care about coverage and unlimited data.
Wimax is not going away.
Neither Sprint nor Verizon has Spectrum capacity to meet demand. Clear Does.
for those that want to dumb their phone, i'm ready to adopt them

What use will I have for the phone when I get its replacement? Anything the Epic4g can do, my new phone can do better and faster. Might give the epic4g to a family member or hopefully microsoft brings back its stupid smoked by windows phone challange this summer and I can get a new one of those for free in trade and then sell it. Most likely though it would sit in a drawer for a year in case I need a backup phone and then into the garbage.

in Wisconsin I figure I'm at least 3 phones away from anything better than 3g....right now I'll just settle for being able to make a phone call standing in the middle of Costco.

I'll give it to my kids so that can use it like the Android version of the iPod touch: WIFI only, gaming, music, etc. Until Sprint comes out with a worthy successor, such as the new GS3 or Galaxy Note/Journal, I'll be rocking both the OG Epic 4G and my International Galaxy Note (on Straight Talk prepaid unlimited).
