Lag after using ODIN - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi i just flashed JM8 rom with odin and i have to say, after using it the phone was more slow, even after i upgraded to the same rom i was using previously...
Any one noticed it?

most people now using stock or custom jpu, there is virtually no lag
but i never noticed slowdowns after reset in 2.1 roms (last one was jm2)

Strange...how about the gps performance with that rom?
Have you ever had gps issues with your phone?

yes, it was jumping around from times to times, so as a car navigation it was useless.
but from jpx/jpu time it is ok, car navigation is working fine

Random Vibrations

Just wondering if anyone else has this problem. My sgs running jp6 has a problem where it randomly starts vibrating.
It can be sat there in standby with no apps installed and all of a sudden for no reason it motor will vibrate for a few seconds. When i look nothing has changed.
It happens at random times also, some times it wont for hours and some time it will do it lots. I've also noticed it happening during calls.
At first i thought it must just be me, but a friend upgraded to jp6 and now his does it to.
Is this another fail on the phones part or just a quirky bug in froyo?

maybe it's crashing apps on the background?
I can confirm that my JP6 firmware Galaxy S does this too.
Not sure what to make of it
after flashing jpm i had the same problem. I sorted it by clearing cache and factor reset in recovery. I hope its that easy for you

Thanks for the advice. I'll give it a bash in the morning.

I have had no such problems.
Try reflashing it again, because my gps works fine, just takes a bit longer to load, or what exactly is happening to it?

Mine works better than it did before Froyo
Reflashing the radio fixed my GPS issue. Thanks guys.
My GPS has stopped working again. It worked the first day after reflashing the Froyo radio but now, days later, is unable to lock on again. Ideas?

My GPS won't lock on either, I'm using pastorbennet's custom Froyo, didn't flash anything from the imnuts thread since I didn't know what to do with the modem file
Mine works though it seems slower to lock, but that's probably an issue of small sample size

GPS not locking after flashing EC07 either. God I hate this phone.
Edit: GPS intermittently works.
GPS on Froyo is so spotty that I might go back to DL17. GPS is that important to me.
Sent from my Continuum on stock Froyo 2.2.2.
Had no problems with GPS on E03 for me. I wonder if you got a program that intensifies GPS if that would help? Something like "Gps status"

2.2.2 gps fix
try this, worked for me.

Perhaps the problem is with ota build. Most here are rooted with custom rom. Are you by chance running a custom rom or the stock one that was sent over the air?

phone is default updated OTA
Then perhaps you can root and install a custom rom. It seems to me when I download a custom rom ota, its more likely to be corrupt. If its stock you want, it's available here. Better yet you might try Pete's Bugless Beast- stock with some additional enhancements. That way you get the stock a stock experience ... but better

It was the other way round for me, I've only had the rebooting issue on my 9023 when I was using a couple of different cm roms, and it went away when I went back to stock. Have tried some other non cm roms, but not for long enough to show any effects.
No reboot, fortunately
That's an issue with 2.3.1, just update to 2.3.4 ota and it should be gone

The CM reboots and sod are know bugs for CM and many have reported the problem stems from the flashing alternative kernel. I've been on GLADOS CFS @ 1.4 for several days now and have had absolutely no problems.

I've never had any random reboots on my NS4G...nor have I even heard of this being an issue with the NS line, at all. I've been flashing new roms/kernels like crazy for the last 3 months I've been using this phone...the longets I think I've gone without a single flash is probably 4 days....and I've never had a single hardware issue of any kind These phones seem really rock-solid to me!!
They've turned a Samsung hater into a Samsung fan overnight!!! I'd buy a GN in a heartbeat if I hadn't JUST bought my NS4G lol

Call problem

Hello
Everything is fine except calls. Sometimes when I have a call, it automatically ends. Without do anything. It can happen in 10 seconds during call, or 3 minutes. Clean flash. Any help?

still the same problem.maybe aosp problem?or hardware?
Switch ROMs or back to Stock to determine whether it's FW or HW related issue.
Thanks I just did that and I'm waiting to happen

I am having the same problem, tried Slimkat and Mahdi, and calls are randomly dropped, which basically make third-party AOSP-based ROMs unusable for me right now. I am using Videotron's version of D803. This does not happen using any stock ROM. This is driving me nuts as other functions seem to work without any major issues.

Horrendous lags and subpar performance

Hey all,
I had the s7e for a few months now.
On a fresh rom the phone flies after a few month everything starts lagging, late response of the touchscreen and typing lags are undeniable.
What am I doing wrong?
I'm using super man rom. Also tried different Roms and kernels with the same result. Can't get satisfactory performance overall.
As soon as I install my 50 apps it starts lagging.
Thanks

Stock rom never lags! It always remains fast and no slowdowns.
Same here, have been stock since day one and no lag whatsoever. I have over 80 apps btw.
Good feedback. How can I get back to 100 percent stock?
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA-Developers mobile app
I'm completely stock, with the European Exynos version.
I get lagging every now and then.
Somehow my old s6 is quicker for my feeling

Do a clean flash of your fav rom, but don't install xposed. Lemme know how it goes
Stock rom never lags. Either use odin to flash or use kies to restore the firmware.

Perhaps be more specific.
There is not a phone in the world that doesn't hesitate or stutter at some stage. Whilst today's ROMs and hardware are pretty efficient they can not always avoid possible software conflicts.
