I have everything that was shown in the video. So far the only thing not working is Wifi Calling. Besides that, screen off/on animations, trackpad wake/unlock, etc are all working

I didn't use ROM Manager. Instructions straight from the GingerVillain thread:
1. Download ClockworkMod 3.0 from here
2. Boot the phone into Fastboot mode by holding Volume Down and pressing power
3. From terminal/command prompt, type:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Yep, extremely stable. And yes they have the CyanogenMod Settings. Only thing missing is battery percentage. There are new builds everyday so one of them is bound to have it

How is battery life with CM7 compared to CM 6.1.1 Stable?

I took the battery out, and then went and wiped and reformatted my SD chip, reloaded the zip image to flash but it wasn't showing through the recovery menu, so I booted and it went further in 1 minute than it did in 15 without redoing the SD chip. Just no internet....
Reflashing right now.

Power button not working, how can I flash roms?

I have been trying to get my friends MYTOUCH 4G back to stock in order to replace it with WARRANTY. The POWER button is NOT working, so I am having a heck of a time with this. I also did the Gfree unroot method but it's rebooting into Fastboot and since the POWER button is broken, I am unable to select anything in order to get it to HBoot (as instructed with the Gfree unroot method) I need to reboot into HBoot in order for it to read the PG15IMG zip. Using ADB, what is the COMMAND prompt to get it to the HBOOT (not FASTBOOT), as "ADB reboot bootloader" is rebooting into FASTBOOT?
And if this is NOT possible, I would further ask how would one flash a rom using ADB commands?
Sent from my SGH-T839 using XDA Premium App
to go to hboot, you have to click the bootloader button, but i am not sure how you would be able to do that since your power button is broken. my best suggestion is to try messing with the power button while highlighting bootloader.

That's the issue, the POWER BUTTON DOES NOT WORK. But thanks for the suggestion.
Anyone else? I know there has got to be a ADB command to get into HBOOT. Or, if that is not possible, how can I get ADB to read the PG15IMG.zip to put it back to stock, PLEASE!

Non-existent things? You mean to tell me there is NO WAY to get into Hboot using adb commands? That doesn't sound correct to me.
If that is not possible, how can I flash the PG15IMG.zip using the ADB commands? There has got to be a way to flash a rom if the Power button doesn't work. You can do EVERYTHING with ADB, I can't imagine not being able to do this too.

EXACTLY... But when I boot using the following ADB Command "adb reboot bootloader" it is not booting into HBoot, it boots into FASTboot which does NOT read the pd15img.zip
How can I flash this using ADB commands, so that the device may be returned as it was STOCK.

might actually work. You need to be in what most would consider fastboot. And that program looks to have "reboot into fastboot". but i'm not sure if it's actually going to, or just wording.
Otherwise just ask around on how to brick the phone, may be a simple adb command or a few battery pulls while doing something in recovery

The phone appears to be pretty new. I think the [OP] is wanting to exchange the phone under warranty due to a malfunctioning button rather than pay 130$ for a warranty claim.
This is how you do everything, without a power button.
Recovery
Code:
adb reboot recovery
bootloader
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot
hold down the back button and boot your phone. A reboot will work, just have perfect timing when you hit and hold the back button.
Power on phone
Clockwork recovery has a bug that automatically boots to recovery. The latest update still has the bug, but the screen stays off. do this
Code:
> adb devices
List of attatched devices
(serial number) recovery
adb shell reboot
There, all the magic you need.

After reading your posts I understand a lil bit better. Your kind of screwed but one option you can do is a bunch of pages back you will find a completely stock rom that is flashable throught recovery. It still has root and obviously wont give you s-on. However, atleast its stock so they don't notice it as easily if they turn the device on.
Also I returned 1 phone that was still rooted with a custom rom and didn't get charged. I also have heard of other members doing the same so don't worry to much

you cannot flash the PD15IMG.zip via recovery. It can only be done via hBoot.
IIRC there is a ROM that someone pulled of a stock [no one logged into] MyTouch4G so everything will look the same.

Stuffed up phone! ;) (really long..)

hi i am andriodboss7!!
and yesterday i was trying out mur4iks data2system
method.
here it is
http://modmymobile.com/forums/527-lg-androids/561814-gt540-data2system-mur4iks-kdz-method.html
And i couldnt boot into download mode as it says to
do!! (i tried everything and it wouldnt)
But thats not the problem..
ok so if you read the link then you would've known that
you are supposed to put phonemode into cs Emergency mode (i think) (forgot)
But cs Emergency mode is only for download mode..
sooo because i couldn't boot into download mode i put the
phone mode into DIAG. because that puts your phone into
download mode!
Ok soo everything was fine and i don't know how but
during the KDZ update the computer said my device storage was removed..
so i was like what the?? (But i wasn't freaked out because i stuffed up my phone like 7 times using KDZ)
so i pulled out the usb and checked my phone and luckly
it was still turned on!
and it said some weird stuff so i just pulled out battery and tried
booting into recovery and fastboot and some weird words come up
on a blue screen so i just left it there.
then what i did figure out was now i could then download mode
so i was like YAHOO!!
and now i am here to ask will it work if i flash a fastboot rom
then flash another rom??
(yeah and i am going to try data2system again!!)
Thanks!!
(Sorry i know this is a really long post!)

yeah i think it had white text on it!!

And i am certain that the update wasn't complete when

because the KDZ said it wasn't complete and also
there was no battery case animation (or whatever it was)
and yeah it doesn't boot it says press vol down to reboot and
i do and the same thing just keeps on happening!!
But thanks 4 ur help!!
(oh yeah and LOL Zdune!! )
I will try posting a pic during the weekends because
i have a lot of tests this week!!

yes use mur4iks boot loader get one of the pre made files flash it through fastboot
So i think its something like
sudo ./fastboot flash 230_120somecrap.appsbn or some other wierd extension cant remember ill hava look for ya
If you can still get into download mode etc flash another kdz try again with pre made file
USE THE BELOW IN ABSOLUTE WORST CASE IT HAS HELPED ME ONCE OR TWICE
If that fails however then use method i stated remove battery remove back cover where the sd is connected with the ribbon disconnect for a few mins let it all drain out put back together flash europe open then try the pre made file from mur4iks bootloader again

I will check
I used the bootloader method to resize partitions, just boot to fastboot, open the program, set system to 150 then flash new bootloader, wipe data, and reboot to recovery to restore your nandroid backup, or flash a new rom and your done.
Exactly same method I never wanted to touch Kdz again
Well i did post a list of alternatives ages ago but no one listens do they kdz is dirty and not rock solid bad things can and do happen

In what process did you brick your phone? the only time you can brick you phone would be when you're flashing the RUU. or doing anything to the bootloader.
1. set up ADB (its a program on the computer) it's simple, you just install it.
2. make sure your computer detects your phone (charging + usb debugging modes)
- you can check by typing "adb devices" in the command prompt when you're in your adb-sdk folder or whatever you name it.
3. download all the downgrading zips, extract them all to where you installed ADB mine is C:\SDK\platform-tools\
4. open command prompt and go to whereever you installed ADB and check to see if your device is connected "adb devices"
5. punch in all those commands in the guide. It's all very detailed. It's all straightforward. There are a lot words and stuff but just follow the directions religiously.
It shouldn't take anymore than 30 mins to set up and everything.
If you already have ADB installed, and the dled files. you could easily finished everything in 5-10mins.
did a quick Google search....

That's because you need to fastboot flash a recovery man. That's the step your missing.

Trying to flash a recovery in recovery? Recoveryception?
Download a recovery.img, place it in the folder where you keep fastboot, flash. What you were seeing was the stock recovery. You're OK. Panic gets you nowhere.

Obviously he doesn't have knowledge. No need to come in here and seek an argument.

See, this is what happens all across xda...someone doesn't research their issue or don't understand it, but they pursue it anyways. Pointless.
Wasn't seeking an argument, just dont like being "corrected" when valid info is given. If the user is to lazy to Google how to use fastboot... Well then that's his issues and can sit in bootloop land for all I care. You can only help so many people before well....stuff becomes redundant. BTW the Nexus was the absolute easiest phone to root, so if the user can't even grasp that tint concept we will be holding their hand their entire stay in the community.

If you thought I was correcting you, you're mistaken. I quoted your post because it was the most helpful and added to the solid information in it.
Should the OP be having this issue at all? No. But rather than berate him I chose to help. Hopefully this scare will be the impetus needed to cause him to learn and prevent these kinds of things in the future.
