Is there a way to make the $10 phone internet plan work on the vibrant by modifying the settings? If anyone can point me out in the right direction that would be most helpful!!
Thanks in advance!!
I am trying to find exact same thing. I tried putting internet2.voicestream.com instead of Epc.Tmobile.com in apn but did not work.

Hey guys:
I do not have the data plan. Shouldn't MMS still work?
I've tried the wap.voicestream.com apn settings but I still get nothing.
Does someone know the settings? Thanks?
anyone having this problem stared today for my bro and i both running stock 2.2.1, and the only way to get the phone to work is to put it on 2g mode
I didn't update mine, but I have lots if experience with t-zones. I'm using a nexus one on it now.
T-mobile doesn't care what speed you get. It would either block you from connecting or you get whatever the tower can serve you. They're is no special apn for the plan. my guess is that something is going on with your signal.
internet2.voicestream
Search the forums for that phrase, you'll find the settings you need. I don't remember if it was a .com or .net.

Do you use market enabler? When I set T-Mobile settings in market enabler, all the APN settings switches to T-Mobile. When I restore settings from Market enabler, or reboot my device, Everything goes back and my provider APN settings comes back (I am on Cyanogenmod, only need to choose correct default APN, since my provider has different packets with different access points and then it remains).

A little more info might be useful.
What provider are you on? What is your current APN set up? What ROM are you using (stock or otherwise)? What method did you use to root? As asked by dolphin777, do you have any apps installed that would impact the APN settings?
My issue was I had numbers in the apn when it should just be two lines. Cbw, wap.gocbw.com

I figured it was something silly like that. Glad you got it sorted.
And thanks for posting the solution
Is it possible to create a separate APN for MMS? Im not sure it is possible for aosp/cm7 roms, but like they do with sense, I would like to split apart the APN so i have one for data and one for mms. Im thinking if i disable the data, i can still send mms, but have data turned off.
Does this make sense? if it does, does anyone know what the settings for this rom would be?
BTW - I am a noob with the APN stuff, and i did give it a shot, but epic fail.
Thanks ahead of time.
You can't. The APN gives you access to the data network, which also is the same route that the MMS uses. So if you shut off data, you shut off MMS.
Thanks, but it must be possible, they do out in the sense roms. If you turn off data you can still send mms

I know for royal ginger you can toggle the data off, and using wifi, with wifi calling turned on, mms will send. Hope that helps . Not sure about other roms. RG is best

Nope. I know how MMS works with the network, because I work for T-mobile. MMS uses the exact same pipeline that the web uses. That's like asking how can I turn off data and still get Pandora to work by changing the apn. They both use the same route to get and send the info.
The option of using WIFI calling that was mentioned is the only other option.

Thank you for the explanation. So how do they do it with sense roms? Every sense rom I have used has the ability to turn off data and still send mms. Check it out... Let me know what you think...

No thats not it. I think it has to do with modifying the APN on the customer.XML in the system/CSC
