Youlu.
IMHO, its the best looking contacts/dialer/messaging app out there.

i´m using dialer one, does everthing i need

Youlu kicks Dialer One's butt imo.

Youlu doesn't work on my desire. dialer one is good but slow. Htc Sense dialer is still the best.

Youlu is very pretty, however in my brief use (before uninstalling) it asked me to sign up to its own servers as opposed to syncing solely with Googles, and it accessed and sync'ed all of my Google contacts as opposed to those in "My Contacts" (so basically everyone who has ever emailed or SMS'ed me!).
I'd love a Youlu interface on top of DialerOne functionality.

HTC's 2.1 Phone/Contacts app on Froyo roms?

As the title says... is it possible? The stock android contacts/dialer is so ugly...
Me too is looking for this...
try phonebook 2.0 in the market, its a decent replacement.
PhoneBook 2.0 is not a good enough replacement. I didn't find any way to automatically map my contacts to Facebook or twitter contacts.

Its not possible as it needs the htc framework

HTC Stock Contacts App

Is it possible to replace the htc contacts app with the 'vanilla' contacts app?
I remember asking this. I think its built into the Rosie framework, so no. I do however use dialer one and like it alot

[REQ] Acer LiquidE dialer

Hi, I have seen on my friend's LiquidE nice dialer. And i thought that it would be great to port it to Desire AOSP ROMs. So, i download FroYo leak ROM for LiqidE and extract Contacts.apk. And push it to system/app to my Desire running CM 6 Nightly 0302010. And it works. but not all. Dialpad and Favorites works fine, but Call Log doesn't show any calls at all, and when trying to go to contacs dialer FC's.
COULD ANYONE HELP TO MAKE THIS DIALER/CONTACTS APP BE FULLWORKING ON DESIRE?
pardon my french but, -bleghhhhh- why would you want this? the default dialer is way better looking and you also have dialerONE
That thing is uuuuuuuuuugly.
So, it depends on every man likings. I like the look of acer dialer.

I know that every person has his own taste, but to me the best thing about Acer Liquid is Nemo player.
+1 for this dialer

Interesting you say that, I find Sense's dialer much quicker to use. Being able to dial up a contact by name rather than use the phone book is very nice.
Personally, Liberated is my choice, particularly now that it has the OC kernel on it. It's very fast and I get to keep Sense, which (if you ask me) HTC did incredibly well for Android.
Liberated all the way

I like Cyanogenmod and Liberated Froyo, I keep a backup of both on my SD card at all times

Cyanogenmod by far. Its customizabilty and features make it superior in my opinion. And anything you might miss about sense can pretty much be found in an app.

I would LOVE TO USE Cyanogenmod
The one thing that makes it unusable for me is their Exchange Email implementation.
No touch copy-n-paste
No embedded graphics
No Pinch Zoom
I dont want to have to buy Touchdown for $30 when the HTC Sense email works great.
Anyone else have this issue?

[Q] A good Contact App

Hi
I think this is a common disadvantage of going to a slim ROM... One thing i loved about HTC Sense was its People App and the integration it provided...along with the great "link" feature, made sure a twitter contact, a fb contact, an email and a phone number are the same person...
I am not a developer but I am very impressed and grateful for the developers here... It would so awesome if there was a better contact app which means me with lots more people could switch to No-Sense ROMs
Thanks
How about Go Contacts?
I am actually very suprised at how good it is... Thanks!! And I have been using GO Launcher ever since...
I used to have aContacts in my phone, but I replaced that with the better Youlu Phonebook app.
I use contapps (http://www.contapps.com/) and think it's great!
Touchpal dialer / contacts works brilliantly, got everything you could want and looks very polished to boot

does it use t9 dialing?
Rocket Dial is a nice option, too
Been my fav since cm7 dialer doesn't feature smart dialing, which is rather annoying if you're coming from sense UI.
