SyncManager v0.3
Improve your ActiveSync experience!
Ever wanted to connect the phone to your PC and only have it recharge your battery?
Ever wanted the cable to route internet connection and allow you to view files without constant synchronizing?
Ever wanted the phone to disable wifi once you have ActiveSync connection?
Ever wanted the phone to just recharge and suppress cable connection when you're on wifi?
If you answered any of the question positively, you are in for a treat
SyncManager works silently on background and forces custom behaviour on your ActiveSync cable connection.
Working on program core derived from Lumos it has minimum CPU requirements and it will only go down in future versions.
Please beware the program is still VERY beta and this release is only meant for advanced users who can
1) extract files to your device without CAB installer
2) edit plain text files for configuration (you can use pword but select NO on save)
3) can work with a task manager
4) won't curse me because they had to softreset
5) won't curse me because they had to hardreset but that would have already happened to me (luckie in that matter)
*USERS THAT CAN'T DO ANY OF THE 5 THINGS ABOVE*
= > Go get a cookie and return when this app is done
Please continue here
.
can't wait for it's release
let me know if you need help testing for qvga, i have a kaiser.
if you need a beta tester on WVGA I'm here
I will test it ASAP and make my repport
Thanks great app works with my prophet qvga this is a must have app thanks
New version
SyncManager v0.2 has been released
* Still beta without installer.
* We need to test this on as many devices as possible
* Please report your device if it's not listed HERE and SyncManager works for you. I will add compatible devices there.
Please read function descriptins in post #1.
Changelog is in post #2.
If you dare you can create a startup entry after you test it, should be safe for Touch series at least.
Enjoy
New version
SyncManager v0.3 has been released
* fixes some annoying problems from v0.2
* more stable
* memory leak fixed
* nicer colors

i guess some supposably this developer no2chem overclocked the touch pro processor to 768mhz..i mean to me thats some bull but the hell do i know..so if this guy really did that...welll shouldnt it be possible to do it on our magics since they have the same processors? thats saying if this guy really did that
heres the link to the story

This thread could turn out to be really interesting...
Yeah do that and cry about the battery draining in 4 hrs with hero roms LOL
Why would you want to? Apart from "because you can"....
With the winter coming, this are great news.. ahahahah
I'll never be cold again here with an overheated overclocked magic.. I hope it won't melt!
"Inspired by GSLEON3 I have started to investigate overclocking options of the ARM11 (runs OS) and ARM9 (runs radio). I disovered a few things which may be of interest, but so far no spectacular results. There is more research needed and I hope people like anton tomov, cmonex, olipro and pof can help out.
Here is a summary of my findings for the ARM11:
- it normally runs on 384MHz which is equal to a masterclock of 768MHz divided by 2
- the ARM11 clockspeed is 768/N MHz where N is a frequency divider (N=1..16)
- i haven't found an option for clock stepping. (If anyone has a MSM7x00 datasheet please share it with me so this can be investigated)
- i found ARM11 clock control code both in oemsbl and spl. The latter is great as it allows to control clock from WM
- there are two commands in a mfg spl to set ARM11 clock speed and to test it: "freq n" (n=0..6) and "test"
- "freq 6" sets the fastest speed: 384MHz and testing with "test" results in 436ms on my kaiser (MSM7200). Would be nice if someone tests this on a MSM7201 based kaiser
- i reverse engineered the "freq" command and found a table at 0x8c00e230 with 5 entries for each speed setting. For "freq 6" the settings are:
Code:
384000 ; equal to clockspeed/1000
1 ; determines which master clock to use (value is either 0 or 1)
1 ; master clock divider-1 (increasing it leads to slower test speeds)
96000 ; some other clock derived from from master clock
3 ; divider-1 for deriving the 2nd clock
- i hot patched these values with the "mw" command (e.g. mw 8C00E2A8 1 6D600) but could not establish any better result with "test"
- setting the divider to 0 (actually means divide 768MHz by 1) caused the device to freeze
- i didn't do any benchmarking in WM
- i haven't investigated ARM9
Okay, enough for now. I hope this triggers more interest and research for this topic."
That was another topic, but i was searching and i think that we could modify the /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpu_max_scaling_freq we could overclock easyly our devices...
well with tool like setcpu we could set lower speed when the phone is sleeping and the battery wont go down that bad ..hell if its possible im down to try it
no2chem (maker of nueROM) is a VERY well respected developer here on XDA who has done a ton of work on WM handsets. He's done quite a bit of low-level work on WM builds and created apps/drivers that even I (as an experienced Windows developer) can scarcely comprehend because it's low-level, hardware-related code. Months ago he did in fact develop a clock-speed app that does allow for over/under clocking of the TP (which I own and have tweaked with many of his apps).
I agree that 800MHz sounds a bit far-fetched, but so did overclocking my i7 920 from stock 2.66 to 4.00 on air, but it's done regularly (though not generally for long-term) on eVGA x58 motherboards (which I use). That said, I wouldn't dismiss the idea too quickly.
His blog and tools can be found here: http://www.nuerom.com/BlogEngine/
Specific article is here: http://www.nuerom.com/BlogEngine/post/2009/09/06/Touch-Pro-running-at-800MHZ.aspx
He's basically the Windows Mobile equivalent (if there is one) of Cyanogen.

interesting work.
i wonder if it will works on others phone. let me try it with my htc fuze. will post result later.
Maybe a solution for changing the cpu max_freq value it's inserting it to the source code when we compile a rom... I think that modding this file are the first step:
http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=ke...3;hb=ebea985a6ec461a59afb86f0068cc1d79d7c8bf1
227 CONFIG_MSM_CPU_FREQ_ONDEMAND_MAX=384000
228 CONFIG_MSM_CPU_FREQ_ONDEMAND_MIN=245760
I think that if we change the line 227 we can overclock, but the problem is that we have to make a rom for testing it.
It's only my opinion!
When i had my blackstone no2chem supposedly oc'd that to some stupid amount but the software he delvelops wouldnt do it. All it would do is the same as set cpu?
Yes, it seems to be the same CPU, if someone can ask no2chem...
hi,
no clue about nix platforms, but you should be able to access A11S_CSR_BASE, follow these steps:
A11S_CLK_CNTL (A11S_CSR_BASE+0x100)
[6:4] = 1 ;Global PLL
[3:0] = 0 ;Divider Ratio 1:1
A11S_CLK_SEL (A11S_CSR_BASE+0x104)
[2:1] = 3 ;Divide AHB Clock by 4
[0] = 1 ;Select Clock Source 1
oh,and A11S_CSR_BASE is at phys 0xC0100000.

oh i didnt know you were on xda lol so it is possible then on our magics??
by the way greatjob on finding this out
But i think that Android SO, doesn't allow accessing to this memory address, it should be out from the user ring... But if the memory address is stored always in the same address (in any platform) we should modify the android source code to allow accessing to this memory address. Otherwise, it seems to be dangerous, because you're writing directly in the CPU registers... a wrong value can fry our cpu...
Now we have a expert low level coder followin this topic... now.. we need a kernel expert for asking about how we can modify this memory adress.
anyone heard any update on this? seems like it just has died, no news from no2chem at all

i honestly had to laugh out loud when i read that
Ok so many people are ditching the topaz because they find it too slow, or its performance just doesnt cut it
But i will stay loyal!
Im starting this thread to share tips and tweaks I'm using to increase RAM/Performance on my topaz and hope other contribute too
1. Use rom build 21680 if possible (It is the fastest build for Winmo currently)
- Energy rom and Enterprise rom use this build at the moment
2. Im a huge flash-a-holic and flash roms on every update (tip dont use XDA-UC...i find that it slows down sense performance by just a little bit imo)
3. This is my NUMBER 1 recommendation for all topaz users! Netrippers 'MSM7kCpuSpeed' it's an overclocker which improves performance by HEAPS
-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=725290
-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7419034#post7419034
(the second one is an app that automatically underclocks when screen is off to prevent SOD's and help save battery)
4. Energy rom and Enterprise are by far the best rom for speed and Ram so i recommend either one of those
Energy - http://208.100.42.21/showthread.php?t=562942
Enterprise - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=742356
(for better Ram in Energy enable compact start menu saves around 30-40mb of ram)
5. MMAppLauncher to override the start menu to save ram
-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=795393
(you can map it to the "windows" button using Topaz Key mapper -http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=555821)
Very fast and ram efficient
6. Set pagepool to '0' before flashing a rom for better performance...though it slightly uses more ram (works perfectly if you use a different start menu or energy rom)
7. Using advanced config tool change all the cache sizes in the "performance" section to max (smooths out sense)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=418151
8. Try keep the rom as close as you can to when you flashed it and dont overload it with junk you don't use
9. clean up the start menu which is in the windows folder, this will allow the start menu to be more responsive
10. I personally use Cookie Home tab and design/create it so it looks as close to Standard sense 2.5 (minimal quick links and pages and turned off weather animation and clock flips)
I find it's very quick (faster then standard sense 2.5)
11. if you don't care about all that fancy eye-candy and stuff, flash a basic titanium rom or sense 2.1 rom which are good on battery/ram/performance
(energy has all these variations ^^link above)
12. Remove all the sense tabs you don't use to increase sense performance
13. Keep in mind skinning uses ram and slows down performance by a little bit
14. disable the dialer skin if you don't care about it (can be done using advanced config tool)
15. Arto's start menu remover and replacement
Remover -http://ip208-100-42-21.static.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=642654&page=14
Replacement - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=711914
well thats all i have for the time being...if people want i can keep updating this thread when i find something new?
(Also keep in mind that im not taking into account battery life)
but my battery goes for about 1-2 days on casual use and thats fine for me (as long as it's quick)
and please share your tips

####Although there are some bugs in this, I agree. I am on 710MHz with a poling interval of 150ms.
4. Energy rom and Enterprise are by far the best rom for speed and Ram so i recommend either one of those
Energy - http://208.100.42.21/showthread.php?t=562942
Enterprise - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=742356
(for better Ram in Energy enable compact start menu saves around 30-40mb of ram)
####I think WM6.1 is much quicker than WM6.5.
5. MMAppLauncher to override the start menu to save ram
-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=795393
(you can map it to the "windows" button using Topaz Key mapper -http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=555821)
Very fast and ram efficient
####OCMan Start Menu is my preference. It only saves ram in WM6.5.
6. Set pagepool to '0' before flashing a rom for better performance...though it slightly uses more ram (works perfectly if you use a different start menu or energy rom)
####I don't agree. I have set mine at 24Mb. Although this costs ram before my TD2 has done anything, it stablises at a lower ram rate after a period of use.
7. Using advanced config tool change all the cache sizes in the "performance" section to max (smooths out sense)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=418151
####Good for speed!
8. Try keep the rom as close as you can to when you flashed it and dont overload it with junk you don't use
####Agreed. If you want applications, then add them to your rom.
9. clean up the start menu which is in the windows folder, this will allow the start menu to be more responsive
####Does not apply if you remove the start menu in the first place.
13. Keep in mind skinning uses ram and slows down performance by a little bit
####If you are going to skin, then add the replaced files to the rom instead of duplicating them.
14. disable the dialer skin if you don't care about it (can be done using advanced config tool)
####I use Phonex and remove the WM dialer too. This saves 2Mb of ram.
15. Arto's start menu remover and replacement

Thanks for your ideas Gtj! Whilst a lot of people have read them, not many have commented or given any extra ideas.
I would also add the following:
1. Remove as much stuff as possible from the rom that you don't use.

Multi quote is used when responding to more than one post, so you click multi quote except for the last thread you are quoting.
Also it is not a good idea to quote the first post or a longer post as it just takes up space.
I think you've read my mind. thanks for the tips! been waiting for someone to speed up my td2
For overclocking I recommend the excellent OverClockTool by iwfratz.
My Topaz is running at 691 Mhz, 0 interval without any kind of problems, and it really is faster!

CAUTION !!!
- USE THIS TOOL AT YOUR OWN RISK !!
- Overclocking your cpu may damage your device.
- Before autostarting the app be sure that your device will not hang.
- backup is always recommended !!DESCRIPTION :
WiMoSpeed lets you change the CPU-speed. In opposite to other tools, even to the predecessor OverClockTool (OCT), it manipulates the values WM uses for clock control. So it works reliable on battery and AC without any scripting or active components.USAGE :
- Download and install the CAB
- Start WiMoSpeed.exe. If it reports that it cannot identify your ROM: post here
- Select Speed
- Set Speed
- If desired create link (in installation directory) with actual settings
- Exit WiMoSpeed.exeTECHNIQUE
Basically WiMoSpeed is hardware-independent, because it lets WM change clock speed. But I couldn't get WM to switch the clock reliable on request so WiMoSpeed had to switch the clock registers itself on setting a new speed.
Therefore WiMoSpeed depends on CPU-hardware, RADIO- and OS-ROM.
Raising or lowering cpu speed didn't change battery drain or device temperature noticeable. So there isn't dynamic clocking in WiMoSpeed, but WM is still controlling and changing cpu-speed on battery.LIMITATIONS
WiMoSpeed supports Qualcomm MSM7200 (and compatible) and is limited to Rhodium and RhodiumW ROMs by now.
I took all shipped roms I could get and included the information into WiMoSpeed.
!!! If WiMoSpeed could not identify your ROM please post here what part of your ROM WiMoSpeed couldn't identify (OEMXIP and / or RADIO-ROM) and include a download-link of your ROM (OS, RADIO) !!! Thank you.
I will include Topaz ROMs next.thanks to
-all donators for the support
-eboelzner for Sense UI SDK
-dmvandijk for the icon
-the internet Please do not mirror WiMoSpeed !

I know OCT can be used with Topaz, because it has the same CPU as the Rhodium, but WiMoSpeed 1.00 is not recognizing the ROM my Topaz is using: Standard Energy (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=562942).
More details at the signature.
Must add that WiMoSpeed is a great project! Best wishes for it.
Just installed it on my Tilt2. I was able to get to 768 MHz (up from 748 MHz I reached with OCT 1.5). Beyond 768 MHz it froze immediately. I will continue testing and post here any issues.
Looks great so far, and thank you for your hard work!
UPDATE: Stepping down to 748 MHz as Sense just froze while switching from the People tab to Home, when using 768 MHz.
Great app iwfratz!!
Downloaded and installed on my Tilt 2 running "Energy.RHODIUM.28244.Sense2.5.Cookie.2.0.Nov.13". I am able to over clock to 787.2 MHz (where I could only get 768.0 with OCT). Running good so far; have not had any bad side effects yet (scrolling through Sense tabs; made phone call; started web browser; read e-mail).
Looks to be a WINNIER!!

WiMoSpeed rocks!
Thanks for all your hard work, iwfratz. You rocked the house with OCT v1.5, and now you follow up with your magnum opus!
This works very well on my Stock VzW 6.5 rom. I was able to step it up a notch or 2 in speed from my OCT v1.5 settings. I am standing pat at 748.8 for now, mainly because I don't want to get too greedy and SOD it all up!

Hi iwfratz;
Glad to see you are still working on this!
Did you ever find out why OCT1.5 would not remove properly? I would prefer to remove it "correctly" rather than use a 3rd party tool or go digging around the registry for leftover pieces.
Thanks!
Thanks

Builds with start menu at the bottom arent as stable as the start menu at the top, in some cases things wont work the same as others with Energy 21916 build (Which I use 21916) which in my case works fine. That could be one reason but there could be more. Try switching builds and see what happens.
awesome
Works great on my stock sprint 6.5.

everything is buttery smooth and stable so far.
nicely done.
Hey many thanks for the new update. However, I used to switch between WinMo and Android quite often and, as you probably know, you need to turn off overclocking to switch.
So I was wondering if there is a quick way or a shortcut to turn the overclocking off when need be? I've tried making a shortcut to switch to 518mhz before attempting android, but that doesn't work. I'd hate to have to switch back to the old version (oct 1.5) as I really like this new one. But unfortunately, this issue is a deal breaker for me

CleanEX RV Ultra v1.01 WM 6.5
Ultra is a Special build, and is simply the fastest WinMo ROM there is. If your after ultimate speed, this is the one for you!
Please Note however, that Cookie Home Tab greater than 1.7.1 will break Sense and will not function, at all. Therefore CHT 1.7.1 and CHTE 1.7.1 are preinstalled. Some Manila visual modifications will not work, but try them for yourself. If Sense is broken, uninstall the mod and reboot the phone. After flash, enable ClearType for a better font.

------ Got Bad Battery life in android? I can help!! ------
after being given the idea by JW, i have done extensive testing with various radios using current widget. I can confirm that the worst radio you can have for battery life in android, by far, is 2.15.xx and 2.14.xx
With radio 2.10.50.28_2 or 2.08.50.05 i am getting a constant 6/7 mA in standby, even with wifi still active and around 100mA less useage when phone on and being used!
you can download them here:
2.08.50.05 - is here
2.10.50.28_2 - is here
flash them in bootloader, boot to WM (you may need to reset your date and time - flashing radios sometims changes it, then boot to android and enjoy!
If you are looking for an older version than the above, please browse the root of our FTP available here http://cleanex.htcfanboys.com/

Dear Gavin, thank you.
You are the man
and as mynamesteve said, Christmas has come early
Thanx .... giving it a try ..... Greatly appreciated ......
Just booted up after flash. Amazing speed, everything seems working 101%, probably the best ROM ever made for the HD2. Will test further and report if any issues found.
Still running ancient Radio 2.08.50.08_2, should I update?... to wich one?... (yes, battery life sucks with this one but it always has and I doubt any radio will improve it much...) Does it need to be a Radio ending in xxxxx_2 or it doesnt matter? Any feedback on newer Radios or what's the best one?
Gavin... U know it Simply perfect!
Cheers guys! Keep the feedback coming, and let me know of any issues you may encounter!

For Ultra, the LeftSoftKey registry (ie HKLM/Software/HTC/manila/HomeLSKPath) didnt work anymore. This did not happen on previous Ultra. I was trying to map it to "\windows\taskmgr.exe"
