TBH .340 System Update.zip run again? - Droid X General

I'm wondering if the TBH .340 System update.zip can be run again if you are already on .340. I'm having trouble with my nandroid of my stock setup and I'd like to skip some quality time with RSD Lite if I can.

Yes it can but if you have any settings that require root you may need to reconfigure them.

What kind of settings are you referring to?

So does this file do anything different than a regular install zip for a rom?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App

No just installs an odexed blank system. I am meaning if you manually deodexed or themed or changed you're build.prop for different davlik cache value or proximity delay. You will also have to re-root and bootstrap.

Got it thanks.

Back to stock question

Im new to the Droid X and I wanted to ask once I root and flash the custom recovery what is the procedure to go back to stock? Im gonna use Z4root but if I unroot wont the custom recovery still be there? Thank you for the help.

I believe so. You'll have to either flash madderstock or sbf to completly go back to stock
Thank you very much

DroidX does not permanently flash custom recovery. It has to be bootstrapped, but, regardless, if you're wanting to return to stock, an SBF would work perfectly
Any idea where I could get the proper sbf? Any links would be helpful thank you sir.

Really really fast!! Great site.

You have to have rsdlite and the proper moto drivers for your phone to flash the sbf.

How to change font

Just as the title says, I'm wondering how to change the system fonts. I'm running P3 gb and funkens theme

If you want to do it easily, get absolute system tools...it's also good for build.prop edits, changing boot animations, and uninstalling bloat

I found a xda thread with a bunch of .zip files that were fonts that you flash through cwm....

Taboonay 2

I can not use adfree on the ROM due to it saying root access not available in superuser update.

Are you running 2.0 or 2.1b? You need to be running 2.1b if you aren't as it fixes that problem I think. Also make sure you wipe cache and dalvic cache. Good luck.

Force close and functionallity problems, please help.

Two problems, android.process.media keeps force closing even after fix permissions. After fix permissions I lose functionality of my search and home keys. This happened on my razr as well. Any suggesions on how to restoore these buttons? I don't want to factory reset because obviously that will work. I'm running on a clean install of liquid smooth 3.0. R2D2 Droid 2

Have you tried wiping cache? Or just re-flashing the rom?
Sent from my Droid2 using xda premium
I did a clean install so full wipe and I tried twice.

Need stock kernal

I've been using yargs for about a month now and always seems to have problems with my WiFi dropping. I made a cwm backup before I flashed yargs but would hate to have to revert my phone that far back.
I'm on newest ota rooted and unlocked.

Restore just an earlier system to restore kernel.
I have not seen a stock zip but I bet arrrghhh's Q kernel thread has one.

I think you could RSD straight to the OTA without wiping data. That should work. Or you could extract the boot.img from the RSD and flash it via fastboot

Thanks for the solution but I was hoping for a flashable zip. I have yet to dabble with RSD and am sorta nooby with this stuff.

Checked out his thread here on xda and didn't see the RAZR m stock kernel.
I have a cwm backup from when I was using stock kernal. Anyway I can extract just the kernel from that?

No. But you can restore just that system. Wipe dalvik & cache, not data.
OR
Just reflash your rom. Wipe dalvik & cache, not data.

Get the full RSD XML from http://sbf.droid-developers.org
Then, open it using something like 7 zip. You should be able to find the boot.img in there.
