If I am in the text messaging screen in landscape mode, and close the phone into portrait mode, the screen does not completely rotate.
The top portion of the screen switches, and the bottom menu bar switches, but there is a section about 1/3 the size of the screen that remains in landscape mode until I close the text message program.
It only does it in texting, no other programs cause this problem with the screen, and it has only started doing it since I hard reset the phone.
Any help??
Yeah, texting does some strange stuff for me too. Sometimes when I push the button to select the contact i want to text it takes quite awhile for it to bring up the texting screen. And yes, same as you on the switching from landscape.
hmm.... That's wierd. I cant seem to find anything else relating to this problem
i am having the same problem also.. but recently it stopped.. idk wuts going on?
well, i figured out what the problem was with mine. It was doing it because I hacked the registry for the SIP to completely kill the pop-up keyboard. After re-enabling it, no more screen issue.
Today I found a really cool bug im touchwiz on my bell Samsung Galaxy S i9000m. I have both touch wiz and launcher pro on my phone and at the moment I use touch wiz a little more for some reason.
In touch wiz i long-pressed the home screen and and chose shortcut. Then I saw the choice for activities with the launcher pro icon. I couldn't remember what it did so I clicked it. But it seemed to not be working properly because nothing was appearing and screen rotation was lagging on the black screen with status bar I was getting. So I spammed the back button and then when that did not work I clicked the home button and chose TwLauncher. I think I was on my side while doing this.but once touch wiz appeared it was in landscape mode (which it shouldn't be able to do on this device, correct?). I scrolled through the home screens a bit and everything seemed in order.even the applications menu was in landscape. Eventually I switched the device orientation and it kind of bugged out at this point then I switched to launcher pro and back and them it was completely normal again.
After I went to launcher pro to confirm what the activity button was. I tried it again and once again twlauncher was in landscape mode. And this time it didn't even glitch out when I went back to portrait. I was just unable to go back to landscape.
----
I just replicated it again to provide screenshots, this time it did infact crash again. And based on the crash message it seems once the activity shortcut thing from launcher pro crashes then the landscape crashes and it just goes automatically back into portrait or something.
----
The last two times I've tried this nothing crashed, and I was able to go into landscape mode until I turned my device off.
I had this happen just a couple of days ago and couldnt work out what caused it.
Now I know. I've got an Australian Galaxy S from 3(VHA).
I wonder if its there for when it's in a desktop dock.
Will be interesting to see what they do with the Froyo update. There has been a lot of people compliaining about no landscape home screen, so I wonder if they will actually listen.
Well I'm in oz town,on froyo and home landscape mode still has bug. No rotation for me. I wish some developere would make a fix for this. I Would make love them to death

I came about this big in a different manner...
Lock your phone with some pattern...
While entering the pattern for unlocking just keep the phone in landscape mode and trace the pattern...
when it unlocks the home screen is in landscape mode and works like a charm...
I encountered a weird bug. If you open the properties button on the Launcher at top of screen and then click the "notification" tab, the tab pops up but never goes away. Click the Launcher setting tab again and nothing happens. At this point I rebooted the tablet to get the notification dialog box to go away.
Any ideas?
Hit the back arrow...
I tried that but did not work. All menus lock up after that. Reboot works.
Wow, that's definitely a bug - got the same thing with Launcher Pro when I clicked on Notifications. Needed to power down the device as it was (almost) frozen.
Anyone know if this occurs in builds before the 2.03 (performance pack)? I'm just wondering if this is the PP at work, or if this has been around since the first TnT Lite builds.

Roebeet, thanks for all your hard work
I can confirm the same results with 2.2.0 and launcher pro...almost frozen and my keyboard would not open.
Added to my Caveats section, just now. Thanks for catching this, smakcc!
Np. I really enjoy beta testing stuff.

I can confirm this on TnT Lite 2.00.
EDIT: I found that if I tap on the battery or wifi indicator, it resets the notifications, and the problem goes away after that.
Just wanted to confirm the same thing. I'll tap on the battery twice and that makes it go away. Glad I bought this thing, I love the feeling of discovery I'm getting from testing different apps and firmwares, haven't had this much fun since I hacked my first PSP!
Same Issue w/ ADW Launcher
I have encountered the same issue but only with ADW Launcher. Everytime I try it it eventually freezes with a white notification tab open. Launcer Pro and the standard launcher works fine. I have tried reinstalling ADW 3 different times and same results. I am running TnT Lite 2.2
I've had it happen with ADW and the swipe down action configured to pop up the notification panel. I never identified the actions it took to actually get it closed again, but I've been able to recover without having to reboot. 2.20 here for me also.

Wifi sleep policy does not work
Anybody else has this problem? My wifi immediately switches off if I put tab to sleep via power button, despite the fact that I put policy to never sleep.
If I'm understanding everyone here, when you swipe up or down on the home screen the battery notification bubble pops up and the controls on the top freeze? I fixed this by going into ADW's settings and disabled swipe up and down.
ETA it wasn't the battery bubble, it was notification bubble. My fix woiks - lol.
Tapping the wifi or battery icons does reset the notification dialog box. It would be nice not to have to do this though.

I found this to be a problem when you have gestures activated in ADW. I don't make my notification bar disappear, so I disabled gestures and the launcher notification bug went away. Of course, this does take away the gesture functionality, but it's something I only accidentally did anyway.
Ehun,
On a different note, thanks for your awe review of the g-tablet, made me go out and buy one!
You mention that it was hard to see buttons in the dark, I worked aroundit but using the buttons on launcher pro. If Only there was an app to poweroff the device it would be great.
Thanks.
I have this issue also. Mine comes from opening. FROM HOMSCREEN (LAUNCHER PRO) > MENU> NOTIFCATIONS.. when opened my window feezes and I reboot to correct...

Click on the actual notification bar and it should clear it out. It seems to be a screen glitche where the pop up ends up on the left side of the screen and slightly off screen.
Thanks for the reply. I will try as specified. you do a great job with the support! Thanks!
"Quick Boot (Reboot)" from Sirius Applications Ltd on the market will let you reboot, power off, or boot into recovery. It's free and it works since you've more than likely got root. Be careful though: it does have a 29.18kb footprint if you're short on space. B)
So far many apps are pretty lax in whether you hold the fire landscape with usb port on right or left. I was holding it to the left since I had it and had no problems.
Now I have a case like a book flap and I prefer the flap ontop hanging back,.usb port on the left. Couple.of.apps force it upside down, having to hold it the other way looks and feels stupid now. Anyone know if there's an app or what.exactly would control that? The kernel?

Found an app, Orientation Control
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.coinsoft.android.orientcontrol&hl=en
This has an override to force the landscape the other way. Only problem I've seen is if you have it set to autorotate like default, then those apps will still rotate counterclock. If you set this to forced, it will do it clockwise but lock and disable the auto rotate.
So an extra step if you know youll be using something for a while and worth manually setting and locking the setting.
my display is stuck in landscape now since yesterday while i was trying to install swiftkey x. i never actually got it installed so i cannot say it is the cause of having the display stuck. i was also tinkering around in nook colour tools, but cannot seem to find anything nook colour tools' settings that fixes my problem.
any feedback is appreciated.
Anybody using widgetlocker for a lock screen replacement, I know we know have lockscreen widgets (tho it seems only about 4 to choose from) but what I love being able to set is shortcuts for gmail, phone and messaging right there and have support for unread messages/missed calls with telsa unread.
Anyway the problem I have is that widgetlock doesn't seem to disable the soft keys (like the stock lockscreen does) so basically I can just bypass unlocking. Anybody have a work around, I know this isn't the first device with softkeys so this must have been a problem that as come up before.
NVM, root helper and 'hide navigation keys' got rid of the soft keys, only problem now is it is just so laggy/unresponsive to touch, takes several attempts to unlock. Hopefully this is just a bug with 4.2 devices and they will fix it soon.
I got a problem w/widgetlocker and the multitask softkey. When I go to the lockscreen, it takes a second for the multitask softkey to appear while the back and home keys are lighted automatically. It just happened today..does anyone w/widgetlocker experience that problem? I wonder if there's a way to fix it and it's starting to bother me.
