Well, that's my question! how I can edit my mobile ROM Galaxy 3 i5800?
The ROM version is I5800XXJPA and what I would do it is to change the default apps, the home and that ...
Do not know how to edit files inside the file. tar!
The files are:
-boot.bin (200 kb)
-cache.rfs (5 MB)
-factoryfs.rfs (210 MB)
-logo.png (5 kb)
-modem.bin (16 MB)
-Sbl.bin (785 kb)
-zImage (4 MB)
Thank you very much!
Greetings!

when I run "mkrom.sh my_chinese_rom" (ext name is NB1),aleret "is not a nbf file", how do i transform the NB1 file to NBF file?
Hmmm, easiest way for you right now is to write NB1 to SD-card using XDArit, and to read it back as NBF. Silly, but that's how it is.
1.write ROM to SD;
2.read ROM from SD as a NBF file by the XDArit.exe(new ver).
3.copy the NBF file to LINUX system.
4. run "./mkrom.sh the_NBF_file",output following:

:-(, crying......................help me!
Looks like our mkrom scripts cannot find some vital pointers in your ROM. If you could make the ROM available to us, we might be able to see what the problem is.
Please upload using ftp to xda-developers.com, username 'xdaftp', password 'xdaftp', so we can have a look. If you mention the ROM version number and the word chinese in the ROM, we know where it came from.
when i upload the ROM file to xda-developers.com,
the server toled me:533 Could not create file.
pls download from :
file1:http://www.aspier.com/xda/software/update/dopod/318-update-files/318chs.part01.rar
file2:http://www.aspier.com/xda/software/update/dopod/318-update-files/318chs.part02.rar

file4:http://www.aspier.com/xda/software/update/dopod/318-update-files/318chs.part04.rar
then make a coalition by winrar3.0.
No time now, but will download later. I see the problem with the file creation, but haven't been able to look into it yet...
File creation problem fixed. (Silly me).
I'm downloading now. (From the looks of it, this will take a little while...)
waiting..................waitining................wwwwwwwwwaiting.
Well, you'll have to wait a little longer. I got the file, but we won't be able to take a real look at it in the next week, I'm afraid. Day-jobs, and stuff. May I suggest you take a deep breath, and go do something else for a little while ?
( Ofcourse this is what you get if you set the type of insane expectations we've been setting... )

I haven´t anything just the normal original Files from WM2003
So I don´t understand what´s going wrong.
Is here anybody with the same problem and a solution for it?

Can anyone help? After making my own ROM in Jeff's kitchen, I keep finding that the subdirectories are not being made in WM2003. In other words, the browsers, file commanders, Pocket MVP etc. are being copied in windows, but no shortcuts to execute the files in the programs folder. If you go to programs, you see all of the standard WM2003 applications, but nothing else.
Using explorer, you can find the applications in the Windows subdirectory. Is this an issue with the Kitchen?
Thanks,

have either of you tried using the .exe method of upgrading, i have always used this method and have never had a problem, either upgrading or downgrading. obviously there are always risks and maybe i'm very lucky but give it a try.

Hi ianlake,
yeah i tried it often, but the result was always the same. Only the XDA Developers special Rom, works with all features.
When I try to upgrade it with exe. program I have also a new problem after 96 % upgrading process my XDA takes a REset and nothing works until I take my SD card and make a Upgrade with the Wallaby Boot Loader.
Can anybody help me ?
thanx in advance

hi. i have problems with wififofum and .NET CF. where can I sownload the .CAB file for "NETCFv2.ppc.armv4i.cab"? thanks,
Download .NET CF 2.0SP1 here, and install it using activesync.
Latest version of wififofum runs fine on TyTN
hi. I need just the CAB file because I've a Mac, and activesync is unuseful to me. Thank you,

OIC... I use orange and cabextract to extract cab files from exe's under Linux, see if there's any MAC version available.
Using cabextract with file NETCFSetupv2.msi I get a lot of cab files:
Code:
F_NETCFv2.ppc.armv4.cab.7268F488_53D1_4565_BEEC_1251BC587315: Microsoft Cabinet archive data, 5527254 bytes, 25 files

Are you sure do you need the "ppc.armv4" or is it probably the "wce5.armv4i" ?
BTW, you can use cabextract in OS X:
http://fink.sourceforge.net/pdb/package.php/cabextract
thanks everybody, yes I need the "i" version of the CAB, I'm going to DL the app for OSX. thanks,
from here http://pdb.finkproject.org/pdb/package.php/cabextract
it's impossible to DL the cabextract, i find only the source code. any ideas? thanks,
Hi,
for WM5 devices you need NETCFv2.wm.armv4i.cab, and not NETCFv2.ppc.armv4i.cab that targets WM2003 devices.
There's no official download for the cab, but you can try this link:
http://www.s-church.net/software/pocketpc/dotnet20/NETCFv2.wm.armv4i.cab

Hi everybody,
i've extracted all images,skinstyles,css-files,help-sites,language-files from "Opera_v9.5_Build_2392_VGA_GER.cab".
Changes on preinstalled Opera:
- add german language support (german is set to default)
- changed the location of the operacache to internal storage - only works on ger-roms i think (eg. \Interner Speicher\operacache\)
- changed the max size fo diskspace (from orig. 4MB to 50MB) - so the whole opera seems to be quicker
Installation:
- copy the content of this rar-file to root\Windows\Opera9\ directory and overwrite all - thats it
