3rd Kin 2m - KIN One and Two General

Today has been hell with my Kin. I awoke to a dead phone. I plugged it in.... nothing. Tried another charger....nothing. Manually charged the battery to get through the day and decided this was bull**** and to go see Verizon. They were pleased to give me a new kin(lost all of my contacts) and they sent me on my way. I was content until I left the parking lot and the phone would not boot. I returned and they claimed it was a "software update" and would restart shortly. After 10 minutes they found this was not the case. So here I sit with my 3rd Kin. Luckily zune has all my media synced so It's no big deal besides the fact that I won't be in contact with anyone I don't see regularly for quite some time.

My Touch HD is Dead :(

I think my Touch HD is Dead I am not sure about it too because i can't seem to power it on ... So anyone with some idea before i call the HTC
Open the back cover and press the little red reset button.
Hopefully that works. Mine sometimes will do that, and reset fixes it.
Thanks for the replay mate I tried it still its not powering on
Perhaps the battery has died, tried plugging the power cable in?
Actualy, i have my new HD dead after two weeks working. Two days ago my battery didn´t charge and orange led stops after a few seconds of plugg charger. Seller has sended today a new battery to try it. No success. Friday i´ll receive a new device to change them. It seems problem is due to internal charging circuit. I´ve had "good lucky" because my HD has crashed before 15 days. One day more and i must to call HTC services and wait for 1 month at least. In Spain HTC service is very slow..
Good lucky!

of course as a citizen of an EU member country, your sale contract is with the supplier and not HTC so go see them and get a replacement
might have to do some research first so you get your argument together
read this page: http://europa.eu/scadplus/leg/en/lvb/l32022.htm
especially:
"Consumer goods must be in conformity with the contract of sale.
*snipped*
The seller is liable to the consumer for any lack of conformity which exists when the goods are delivered to the consumer and which becomes apparent within a period of two years unless, at the moment of conclusion of the contract of sale, the consumer knew or could not reasonably be unaware of the lack of conformity."
In my case, the difference into 15 days and 16 days is that i can get a new device quickly before 15 days running or i must to contact after 15 days with HTC service (with RMA protocol, etc) and send my device to repair/change. I know i have two years of guaranty but when i say "good lucky" is due to fast time of solution of my problem. 3 days is not 1 month..
So, it´s better work hard with our new devices as soon as u have them in your hands. If they must crash, better be soon..

My Touch HD is dead too
I have been struggling with my HTC Touch HD which I got less than a year ago. It suddenly shut down. I tried to recharge the battery, master reset, and everything you can think of. And nothing can keep it on for couple minutes.
I suspect it is the battery. I have order a new battery. Hope it will work. If it is the charging circuit, I will have no hope but get a new phone.
Can anyone verify HTC Touch HD has a charging circuit problem? BTW, my bluetooth and radio went out several months before, and now the whole thing goes out.

How did you fix your Bluetooth?
Mine is having a problem now. It doesn't activate when I put it to "ON". However, when I restart my phone, the bluetooth icon at the top of the screen is on indicating that bluetooth is active. However, when I try to disactivate it from Communication Manager, it shows that bluetooth is actually off. Any idea what's wrong with it?
My phone now doesn't boot up. When I switch it on, it just vibrate as if the phone is switching on but there's nothing on the display. The battery is fully charged. Previously, when I switch it on it says "Microp Mismatch 0. Please update your Microp's firmware". I manage to get into bootloader and flashed ROM with XANNYTech's Leo 2.5 and used it for about a day before it died. Anyone help please?

Constant Reboot-Loop (Faulty Battery?)

I'm aware that some users had this problem in the past due to changing the HSDPA/HSUPA settings or by installing the colored taskbar. In my case that's not the problem.
First of all a little recap of my well... troubled history with the Touch HD.
1. After 5 month of usage I got the infamous black screen error. The display turned black but the mobile responded to my actions. - back to the store - sent in and got it back repaired (changed main platine).
2. About 2 month later were the phone worked well - I got the same error again. Back to the store - sent in and got it back after three weeks with the comment that HTC couldn't find any error.
3. The same day I returned the phone because naturally the error was still there and furthermore the USB didn't work anymore. Got it back yesterday and it seemed to work fine. It was kinda weird that on my first startup the phone was already ready to use - no installation required and I even had the phone numbers htc used to test whether the device works or not in my call list (way to go using the european emergency call for that HTC ).
Did a hard-reset and everything installed without problems. Then when I tried to connect my phone to facebook it rebooted and was stuck in a reebot-loop. Only way to fix it is taking the battery out, wait for a couple of minutes and reinsert it. Tried nearly everything from here on:
- Hard-Reset
- Flashing another Rom
- Using Android
- Flashing back to the orginal HTC Rom
- Updating the orginal HTC Rom
- Cleaning every contact and the battery
- Completely draining the battery and recharging it to 100% before starting up again
- Cursing, swearing, considering throwing it out the window
- Taking out the battery overnight
Well, nothing helped. The only thing I can think of is that the battery is broken. Unfortunately I have no second battery at my disposal and do not know anyone who could lend me one to test it. My provider does not sell the Touch HD anymore because they now sell the HD2 so I can't test it there.
Well, maybe someone can shed some light onto this problem because I'm sick and tired of all the issues I had with my HD. Any trick, any thought about what could cause the problem would help. I'm returning the phone to the store on monday and they promised to give me a new mobile if I had issues after my mobile was sent to repair three times. Still, it will take a couple of weeks before their customer support is able to send me the offer and living a couple of weeks with that faulty phone is going to be tough since I never know when the error occurs.
Any help would be appreciated.
sincerely
Eisfeld

Something bricked my phone.

My phone, which I've had since waiting in line on March 24th quit on me today. I'm not sure if it was the culprit but, I installed a program called Lookout mobile security last night 5/6. When I started the phone this morning put it on the table, got some java and when I got back nothing..no buttons working...ok..no problem tried a soft reset...nothing..ok now starting to get worried. pluged into power source..boot up screen. whew..low battery. then blank, a few seconds..boot up screen AGAIN!..by now I'm in full freakout...Attempted to calm down.. didn't work..thought ok..most everything is backed up..lets do a hard reset..didn't WANT to but anyway! Did the hard reset .. Still had the same problem...Had to pinch myself HARD to make sure this wasn't a nightmare. Went to the TMobile store and the associate put me in touch with technical support (they were Super) Going to give me a new phone but, have to wait until next Friday to get it...and then tweaking and rebuilding it to what I want...I should have been ready for this coming from an iphone...All it takes is one $%@# program again, not saying it was the one mentioned above but, one with a malicious code or something that destroyed over five weeks of building a phone from scratch. Sorry about the rant... I still LOVE this phone. .
so you couldn't even boot it in to the bootloader? wow! Maybe you should flash HardSPL before trying to install that program again as there is far less chance of bricking it if you have HardSPL installed. Even if the rom gets completely stuffed, you can still boot it and reflash from SD.
All I can recommend is install a ROM via Micro SD card and maybe doing a Task 29 before you reinstall a ROM
for US Tmobile: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614
For Leo: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
Or maybe try this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=668347
If those don't work then I don't know what else to recommend
They want my old phone back once I get the new one so, I'm going
to let them have it just as I turned it on yesterday. Let them
find out what the problem was created by.
I was about to install that "lookout" software...but after reading this I might as well hold on.
did you leave it on the charger overnight or did you just turn on your phone in the morning.
if you didnt have it charge all night, maybe all you needed to do was leave it on the charger a little longer before starting it back on.
i noticed that some phones with a dead battery and on the charger will sometimes not stay on until it has gotten a minimum charge on the battery.

Setting up the new phone shouldn't be a big deal if you did actually backup; just stick the old microSD in the new phone and run whatever backup app you had on the card.
I put it on the power supply and it is in the constant loop of
the first screen that appears. I am going to seriously look into
HardSPL. Thanks to all the good input from everybody.
Well now even customer service is at a loss. They cannot phantom why why two separate phones have the same problem. While I had CS on the phone we went thru various senario's to try to get the phone to operate properly. I even had them give me a new SIM card and that did not work...I suggested the problem might be the battery as it could have gone bad. You guys think the phone is playing hard to get--try to find a replacement battery! No stores within a 20 mile radius had one in stock....! Needless to say they are going to ship me yet another phone. plus a new battery and hopefully it will take care of the problem. The sales associate did a hard reset on both my old and the new phone without results so that unfortnately is not a viable solution. Now I am in the game I hate the most........The waiting one! ..

^^ what the op says above. This happened to me (and my gf as well) on our HD2s. The first time (mines) this happened, i hooked it up onto my car charger and immediately tried to turn it on.. it would go onto the TMO screen, but quickly shut down and loop. After realizing I may be trying to jump the step, I unhooked it from the charger, took the battery off, put it back on, hooked it back onto the charger and let it sit for about 10-20 minutes charging. Turned it back on and viola! It wasn't a brick.. I can almost guarantee this is your problem.
But I may be wrong lol...
So, now after 2 replacement phone sent to me, I find out that
it was the battery all along. Problem is that after the second phone
arrived and I had the same problem I called customer service and
explained it to them....They said a battery would be sent next day
air...Ok...called the next day and was told that the rep never sent
in the order...Long story short....I've almost been without my phone
for two weeks now and, all I need is a frelling battery.
Problem is there are NONE around me..I've tried every tm store in
the area, All radio shacks batteries plus...you name it....
I am being sent a battery UPS ground...could take 7 more days.
Just took the battery from my fiance's phone and it works
so, right now I would pay a ransom for a battery just to have my
phone back!
I had to do a hard reset after downloading that lookout trial.
at this point I don't know what caused it..Has anyone ever heard
of an application causing the battery to go bad?...I worked really
hard to keep the battery I had in good condition.. I hope UPS
delivers soon!
This is odd I have used Lookout Mobile on my phone since I had it. Mind you not had it for long, since April but still its never bricked or did anything that hindered the phone. I maybe another program.

DVP crapped today with worst experience with Dell...........

Well today my DVP decided to crap on me today. Phone started acting weird for some reason. While I turned the screen on to check for some things for trip im taking this weekend I noticed some of the icons not refreshing and usually when this happened it took a couple seconds for them to refresh. The Tiles would be blank or have stars for the image in the app list. After noticing they never refresed I decided to power cycle the device. Once I did that The phone did not leave from the Dell logo start up screen. I then attempted to do a battery pull, first one sine the update. Pulled the battery and the same result came about. The phone would not start up it just sat at the Dell logo screen. Left it there for about 5 minutes same result.
So I call Dell to be a refurbished replacement as they usually do. I was hung up on three times before successfully getting a CSA that knew what they were doing and finally did some homework on my account. A problem stemmed from when I got my second replacement device. I guess the service tag on my second device was never turned over into my name and it still was in the name of the original owner.
The service over at Dell is absolutely sub par. It literally pissed me off that nobody could help me enough to look deep into my files to get me a replacement device. I had to curse out the last lady in order to get a device literally. Then didnt want to transfer me to management or anything. The CSA's absolutely suck over there and Dells needs to do something about that. They all sound Indian not that I have anything against them but its hard understanding sometimes and most of them seem to never know anything.
This experience has really lead me to really think twice about keeping this refurb they are about to send me. Its bad enough I have to go without a phone for about 2 days and I wont have a phone for my trip when I leave Friday. I asked the lady to overnight the phone and she stated she couldnt do that. After I explained to her my cell phone is my house and cell phone they still didnt care. I paid full price for this device and this is how I get treted. Dell you really dropped the ball on this one and this will be the last experience I will have with your company ever.
next time, try this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2530409#method2

LG G2 (AT&T D800) bricked itself

So there I was, browsing the Slick Deals app, when the phone locked up, turned off, and now it won't do crap. Decent charge on the battery at the time, ~90%. Stock ROM and rooted for over a year with no issues to speak of. I got the phone on day 1 (Sept 2013?) I'd taken care of this phone better than any previous to it. Always in a protective case, always with a screen protector. Never dropped, never left in a car or in the sun. My plan was to go 3 years with this one I liked it so much. Well so much for that idea.
If I hold down the power button long enough I can get it to boot some of the time. Recovery mode and download mode are not options, just won't do it. It did the whole 15 drives thing when plugged into USB once, but there is no consistency to it. I read several threads on how to unbrick the phone, but the whole Linux install and img files are little over my head to try.
I went ahead and ordered a new battery for it, just in case that's what's causing the issue. I was told if a cell in the battery flips out it can cause the phone not to work properly. At one point I had the phone charging while off and could see the charging screen. It got to 95% and never any higher. Managed to boot the phone for 30 seconds then it shut off again. I quit messing with it after that.
Could it be just a battery gone rouge all of a sudden, or do I have bigger problems? I hate to abandon this phone, but I don't want to spend any more money on it to fix it either. I bought a used Nexus 5 off a friend for a song to get back up and running with my SIM card, so I have time now to work on the G2. If I can resurrect it, the Nexus will serve as a nice backup phone in case of future disasters.
