Fix / Edit Build.Prop ? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Seems I have to edit the build.prop to add / change net setting ..
I am using .. ES File Explorer to edit the file ..
I have used this on a different Build .. and it worked fine.
I believe in the build.prop you have to change the
net.ppp0.dns1 and net.dns1 to 10.177.0.34
for the T-Mobile apps to work like visual voicemail etc
net.ppp0.dns1=10.177.0.34
net.ppp0.dns2=10.162.130.84
net.ppp0.dns3=10.177.0.34
net.ppp0.dns4=10.162.130.84
But everytime I do It refuses to boot .. after the changes ..
I Really Want .. t-mobile Usa visual voicemail working!
Any Suggestions ? Help ? I Could Try!

Lenovo A760 problem with mobile internet

I have a problem with my mobile internet connection. I can not add a new APN. When try to add new apn it shows that APN list is not completed and to try again later. I try maybe 4-5 times but it's the same. I reset the phone - the same Please help me, is very important.

I solved the problem.
Downoad HiAPN app, install it and change it's permission (chmod 777 - from console or TotalCMD).
After that, you will restart the phone and all works fine
(phone is recognized apns in your neighborhood.

Hi friend . I have the same phone Lenovo A760 and i have the same problem with network..I can not create a new APN
If you really solved the problem can you post in detail the tutorial, please.. a step by step guide how to repair this problem..

Well, I fixed APN problem... here are very short manuals
Install "fx explorer" and "fx root addon"
Copy apns-conf.xml from attached apns-conf-Lenovo a760.zip on your phone internal storage
Run fx explorer
Mount /etc fs as read/write (click on tools icon in fx explorer)
Overwrite apns-conf.xml in /etc
Reboot your phone.
Now apn works fine

Hey, thanks so far BUT..
i did everything, it showed me the Overwrite/Merge option and i did so, but when i restarted the phone, it still displayed the APN list not complete thingy. Is it possible that my country's setting aren't in the other conf.xml file and if so is there anyway i can insert them in.

Check xml file if your mobile operator is included.
My (Tusmobil Slovenia) wasn't included in old xml file, but was in new one so now everything works fine.

Does this app need root access? I bought one of these (A760) for a friend of mine, but the phone is not able to create APN for lycamobile in UK (same problems mentioned in this thread).
Would installing he application from play market solve the problem? Or it will need root permission?

Can you explain me how should I work with Fx explorer? It is the same problem with the apn.I dont understand very well the explanation.How do I mount? I have copied the apns-conf.xml on the internal storage.What should I do next?

problems with CWM
I've had quite a few problems before i managed to get it working:
1. flashed CWM from ADB, but every time I rebooted to recovery it was still the same (original)
2. So i had to install VROOT (http://www.mgyun.com/en/GetVRoot) to apply root and then renamed /system/recovery-from-boot.p to something else
3. Then i flashed CWM again and it worked.
4. I flashed AudiROMv1.zip from cwm.
Then my phone recognized MOBITEL (Slovenian) APN.

I have a problem with my Lenovo A760, My Data Internet is working great when I have only First SIM active, when i am activating the second SIM,
I can't access data Internet at all.

changing data icon....

hi....i"m on 5.1.1 sm-n910W8 variant stock rom....rooted i"m playing to change my data icon with root explorer, with "ro-product.name" and when i edit the line like usual i reboot but it change nothing...just trying to get the att data icon!!! re-checked the edited file in root explorer all is ok but no change???

in my case...since i upgraded to 5.1.1, even if i rooted my note 4 with succes i can edit the build.prop file but the change never happen once i boot...the change on the build.prop are saved but it dont change nothing...
does some of you experienced this??

s6 edge+ cannot text - invalid recipient!

My edge plus has decided it wont allow me to text the majority of contacts i have saved, the error is invalid recipient, unable to add the recipient. The recipients number is invalid,
the numbers are all fine and even if i add my own number it tells me the same error, it is still receiving texts and will send to a couple out of the few hundred contacts i have, the message centre number is correct in the settings.
Any ideas, its a rooted deodexed rom with arter97 v8 kernel if that makes any difference?

You use Wanam Xposed?

I did use wanam exposed but uninstalled it, its weird that hangouts works fine with same contacts. What option in wanam could have caused it so i can try and sort it. Cheers.

To fix this use a root explorer, I used ES File Explorer.
1 - Browse and open the file feature.xml

Tried to do what u said nviper and that line wasnt their, their was a backup file wanam had made so i restored that and now its working great, Thanks for the tip.

i actually have the same problem although my phone is not rooted. I wonder how I can fix this.

For years android user. I have encountered with the same problem for the first time. I've newly upgraded to lollipop 5.1.1 from 5.0.1 note 4 910c . Using xposed and rooted. Installed talexop_Kernel_N910C_5.1.1_C0I4_v1.05 kernel.
I tried to do what a friend had suggested in the upper page. Found the file with es file explorer but couldn't find the line.
I know the problem is kernel or xposed or root.
I thing I used without any problem default message app for a day. But now the same problem as mentioned above.

I found out something new. Here in my country the phone number format is like this 0543 455 4455. If I remove 0 from the beginning of any number and save it to the contacts the message can be sent. Otherwise not. But without 0, numbers are invalid here. What does this show? Any idea?

It helped with 50 as a value, Anyhow Wanam Xposed Lollipop in Note5 has numerous weird behavior, from collapsing after toggle to lost root access.

Hey, how did you restore it? (Have the same Problem)

I had the same issue with samsung galaxy j700h, modifying feature.xml worked for me. I changrr the value to 11 rather than 99.

You can find the file in this directory : "system/csc/feature.xml"
1) go to this directory with a root browser: "system/csc/"
2) open the "feature.xml" file with a text editor
3) scroll down to find the option called "CscFeature_Message_MaxRecipientLenghtAs" which equals to "10"
4) change the number "10" with number "90"
5) save the file and reboot your phone.
Voilaaaaa. You can send SMS now.

Changing DPI does not work; please help

Hey Guys,
I have an S7 Edge and was always able to change the DPI via any common method.
For some weeks it´s somehow not possible. I tried while on various ROMs.
I tried via editing Build.prop, Android Terminal App, DPI Changing Apps and via Terminal on Mac and Windows.
It just doesnt work....
I noticed that being on BobCat ROM it works.... But with no other ROM. I tried them all on XDA.
Does anybody have an idea why and/or how to fix this?
I appreciate every reply.

You need to have root acces and use a file manager (I use Solid Explorer), open build.prop with the Solid Explorer built in editor (SE Text editor) and find and change the following line:
ro.sf.lcd_density=560
(560 is the best value that you can apply, anything bellow that dpi messes up the touchwiz apps).
Save the file and presto!!!

8)system/framework/voip.jar
9)system/etc/ins_keystring.bat
10) most important
Decompile Framework-res.apk
Now goto Res/value/bool.xml and turn on VT call script they set inside just make it True From False..
11 system/etc/mixer_path.xml
Floating_feature.xml and Mixer_gain.xml just script of call
And u can do it with Phone Info app too.
Just install ims related all app..
Open phone info
Go to secret Codes
Find 467 ims app launch and Turn on only VoLTE call and turn on sms over IMS.. and save reboot..
Please do not try to copy this post and share with ur name because i lost 8 to 9 month to investigations on this VoLTE method..

i m applying this steps and volte is activated in menu button okay but not showing in statusbar volte icon :/ do you have an idea?

It would have been even more helpful to others if the apps to be installed are specified in detail. IMS is a common acronym and so it is difficult to identify the app you are referring to. Kindly share the details of the apps to be installed.
