Hello, I have buy the Desire Z in the Czech republic, Europe. EU come with the stupid restriction of the audio. Because they say the loud audio crash the ears. For this reason is the audio restricted for max 80 dB. I want to shut down this restriction. Is there anybody who knows how?
Many thanks Honza
Go to the android market and download volume boost (trial) works great for my desire Z
Is there any chance that this limitation is only in the new OTA upgrade? I was running with my DZ before the upgrade and listened to DI.FM with a nice volume. after the upgrade I ran with it only once and felt like the volume is a lot lower. after seeing this thread I think I wasn't imagining - if this was only installed in the upgrade.

Hi - I'm an experienced windows developer looking at doing some Android apps development. I've got a rooted G1 but I think I need a more up-to-date device for development purposes. So my questions are
1. Am I right in thinking I'll need something like the Nexus One or the Desire? Maybe actually using the G1 as a lowest common denominator is best right now ?
2. If the Desire or Nexus One is recommended which is better for development purposes? I know the Desire has recently been rooted but there seems to be some problems (can't write to certain system partitiions a 'goldcard is required if the phone is obtained from a Carrier) and and won't it always be playing catch-up each time google updates android ?
3. If I have a rooted Desire / Nexus one can I run a 1.6 rom to check functional compatibility? (I learned not to trust SDK emulators by themselves !)
Thanks in advance for your answers

if your wanting to check your apps on a phone thats is gioing to be moer popular i would go for the desire as i believe it is going to be the better seller of the 2 and also i'm sure it won't be long untill the root status is improved WELL i hope. hope this helps
slaming
Hi Slaming - good point about the popularity of the Desire. Here in the UK It does seem to be Androind phone to get. Over the weekend the T-mobile and '3' shops were out of stock !
why dont you just run the apps on the emulator?

emulators are never 100% accurate only good for rough development
I wouldnt want to wait around until the updates trickle to the Desire. And no one has really been working to run 1.6 on either devices. There is almost no difference between the Desire and the Nexus one. I would stick with the one with Google updates and the easy root. If you must check 1.6 I would keep a G1 or magic around.
choices, choices
I can't make up my mind at the present.
N1
PROs - Faster and easier Android updating, worldwide usage, docking pins
CONS - Alleged 3G radio, cracked screen and dust under screen issues ??
DESIRE
PROS - real buttons, optical trackpad, prettier HTC sense UI
CONS - imperfect root process, slower Android update process
I'm trying to find out if the Desire has the same alleged 3G / screen hardware issues as the N1 because I thought the hardware was virtually the same but there seems to a lot less complaints about the Desire.
Desire has same radio problems as N1
Well it looks like the desire has the same or very similar 3G issues as the N1. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=656192
Bah ! this is really dis-heartening. I want to develop for Android but based on what I'm discovering the iPhone might still be a better bet! The general public ( as opposed to technies / early adopters like me ) won't to switch to a new device in large numbers unless its offers a consistently high quality experience and is reliable in its basic functionality !
Grrrrr ... Bah !

ok well i believe i read that google was not going to do any more firmware updates to fix bugs such as the 3g radio and i believe surely it would be better to go with a device which is more popular and everyone will have same spec etc than have a device which means you can test if it works on something that software wise has better speed meaning on a desire with the slower sense will be a bit more laggy
Okay, so the only thing that has me still thinking that WM6.5 is still superior to Android is the depressing quality of A2DP in the Android builds for the HD2.
I mean, granted it's higher quality than listening to music via the hands-free profile, but it is woefully lacking when compared to the A2DP coming from WM6.5 on my HD2.
I found a thread of Evo owners who are similarly upset over this, and there seems to be one ROM variant out there that addresses this for Evo owners, so surely this must be something that can be fixed on the ROM's for the HD2? (also, RIP Leslie Nielson)
The thread is here
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=9888
Has there been any research into what (if anything) users can do to better the quality of A2DP on Android?
Yes.. thank you for sharing this issue with us.. i hope google will fix this bug.. it just gives some white-noises in a music! i can't describe it
EDIT: Check this out, someone actually found a way for it!
is this wat u mean? or im showing something off (fast forward to 1:38)

while reading this issue 9888.. i found out that it was fixed on CM 6.1
Can any developer take a look at this for the sense roms?

Check out this thread! Loads of us have been asking the same question for a while now. I wonder if it's fixed in Gingerbread...anyone tried it?
I have tried Cyanogen's new Gingerbread build on my HD2 and for the first time, I heard crisp, quality A2DP over my phone. It was awesome. However, I want to continue using my Froyo sense build so really would like to see a fix. It's possible....we just need a genius or 2 to work it out! I wonder if Cyanogen is contactable?
I am using the NAND stock Desire ROM on my HD2, and my AD2P is working flawlessly with my Sony Xplod unit in my car. HTC phones always worked good for me.

i bought this phone last month, i think the video recording good, but in realistic in fact too bad,,,
no system update for DHD
live in indonesia
software 1.32
so slow, many bugs, etc
HTC please fix it
You need to send your feedback to HTC directly. Also video was improved in an update HTC have stopped releasing for the moment until they fix some of the bugs in it.

But if you install that update you can no longer root the phone! (If you want to do that)
Dear friends:
For my job purposes I am using in-call recording software, to record both party voices. Until 2.1 it was easy - just a matter of choosing the right software. Sound was clear and everything was fine.
Yesterday with a big hope I upgraded to 2.3.3 and after testing some 5 tools, I found out that none of them work.
I heard rumors, that it might be related to kernel restrictions. so there comes a question. Is it matter of waiting for some skillful guy to provide custom rom which allows the above, or it is just a matter of root?

Sacrosanct
Hi, I have heard rumours that the HTC wildfire can be used for call recording by using a custom ROM.
I have also been told that the android version has to be Android 2.2.1, is this correct?
Also, I have been told that there is actually native software inside the phone that can be used for this function, and that you simply add a cab file, and language file to get it working (which i have already downloaded)
My question, is weather the Android 2.2.1 version is the only version I can use, and if so, has anybody been able to do this sucessfully?
And by successfully, i mean, without the "speaker phone" hack... two way call recording only please!
Thanks for you help
Did you manage to find out a way to record calls from HTC wildfire S?
Hi, firstly call recording from both sides is kernel related and you would need a kernel compiled to deal with it.
Secondly this is the buzz: wildfire forum pal, the wildfire s is a marvel best have a hunt over at their forums for a kernel that can do it
