I currently have glacier rom on my rooted Mytouch 4g. I download ed two new roms from the xda site, miui rom and cyanogen. After I dumped them on my sd I went into recovery and tried to install zip from sd. I see the miui folder buy there is no zip to.install. Any suggestions or different ways I can get this on?

you don't unzip the ROM. Just go to recovery, make a nandroid, wipe EVERYTHING, then flash the .zip
Is the nandroid option always there? Or do I have to install something because I don't see it

Because the mt4g and the g2 are totally different from the old htc phones internally. Someone might Wanna go into more detail, but that's the bare fact
To update via recovery from rom manager to update the nightly versions where is it located on the SD card??

I am having issues trying to restore the orginal nandbackup ,but the problem with it is that its not loading and is stuck on the splash screen. Im using cwm 3.x, and using cm7

You must use a 2.x version of recovery to restore a Froyo rom. 3.x is for Gingerbread.
HTC Glacier running CM7 #33
resotre 2.x recovery
i already installed the gingerbread recovery like he did, how do i revert back?
Lots of choices. I recommend using Fastboot, but you could also reinstall CM7 and use ROM Manager. I suppose if you had the 2.x image handy on SD you could also flash it from Recovery. But I haven't bothered to check this last.

Thanks I was wondering about that, would the lower recoveries be located in the Rom manager older recoveries section?

official RUU -> froyo mytouch ROMs
non-officvial -> Gingerbread leaked mysense ROM.
What do exes of these do? Do you plug your phone in and run them?

I haven't seen that exe. There is a pd15img which you can flash through bootloader and it will overwrite everything (radio, bootloader, recovery, Rom etc).

but also i think it make you go from higher ver ROM to Lower version ROM unlike the bootloader type flashing as someone told me here you cant go back to lower version if u have no root or S-off.
(saying this cause i have done it in past on my windows mobile days.)
Anyone ever get this?
Really want the RUU EXE for the myTouch 4g
Because I'm running on a rooted 2.2.1 phone. I followed gfree's ultimate root and now I want to flash a mod , so do I have to update my software?
Anyone ?...........
You can just start flashing. You're already set. Just make sure you boot into recovery and make nandroid of your current rom. Might want to update recovery through rom manager before anything though.
