Before my other Vibrant failed I was able to display it on my PC's browser via wifi - using the phone's IP address. I just cannot remember the name of the app I was using.
Any help will be appreciated.
Probably a VNC server program. Search the market for VNC.

I get my 02 Mini S Variant Wizard next week, one thing I'm hoping do do is to log on to our Unix servers via Telnet over Wireless Lan. From a PC I use "PuTTY" which can cope with the specific screen emulations we use. Is there a suitable Telnet client for the Wizard?
Many thanks,
Mark.
putty is available for Pocket PC and seems to work ok..do a google for it.

Thanks for that! So does this mean that software listed as for the "Pocket PC" will typically work on a Wizard?
Mark.
I've heard good thing about pockeTTY. It does telnet/ssh. This was the winner in pocketpcmag's comparison. Going to give it a try later on.

Are you really (still) using Telnet? I would change that to SSH as soon as you can! Telnet is not save at all.
By the way.... http://www.pocketputty.net/

I'm aware that Telnet isn't very secure, however I don't have any say in the connection method. Our firewalls are currently MacAddress specific and Fixed IP Address specific so I'm pretty confident that the server is secure.
I'm intending to connect via WEP encrypted wireless LAN (rather than via the internet) whilst at home and/or at work.
Another solution could be to connect via Terminal Services to the Windows SBS Server and use the PuTTY that's already on my account on there.
For the moment I haven't a clue what would be possible or the best way to procede as I've not got the phone yet. My enquiries are related to working out what it will be possible for me to do and what software would be needed to do it.
The XDA was ordered today, along with a 2gb MiniSD Card and I'm really looking forward to getting it.

Hello people....I'm looking for an APP that let me manage my PC Desktop over WiFi, I mean, no internet connection or server through like does Team Viewer...
Something like HOST and CLIENT using only WiFi connection...
any idea?
thanks in advance
Xtralogic did a Remote Desktop Client to control your PC via your phone - worked over wifi (assuming both PC and phone are on the same wifi)
Is that what you mean?
Failing that I did try LogMeIn once which seemed ok cross wifi networks
Realvnc or any other vnc server on your desktop.
Androidvnc or any other vnc client on your phone.
I have installed Xtralogic on my phone already, but which one do you recommend for serving like HOST or Server on Windows PC?

It just uses the native windows RDP stuff - just needs enabling on the pc - i.e. right click my computer, properties, remote connections, allow remote connections.
As mentioned already, I heard VNC is good too.
Try team viewer
wyse seems to have the best interface (ive seen) and is simple to use.
you can get remote desktop with just google user name.
I used to use remote RDP enterprise which was also good.
I have tried almost every vnc client, from pro to regular to work in my Transformer without any luck!
I had VNC viewer working fine in my Desire HD alsaw using win 7 64..but with the transformer and honycomb nothing works!!!!!
Strange. On my tablet every one I tried worked! You could also try RDP clients, they should be faster. Maybe it's something with your firewall? I had a problem with that - connecting to DRP rebooted my PC.
I'm using PocketCloud. Works perfectly from any internet connection on my TF.
edit: I am using RDP too.
Are we talking about W7 64 edition?
i cant get any damn app to work with it..
its not firewall.. same apps works on my DHD
I used remote desktop 2.8
android vnc
pocket cloud
remote vnc pro
regular vnc
Yea I'm using 64-bit and 32-bit.
edit: Are you using 3G on your Desire? Your TF is going through WiFi i take it. Could be the firewall in your router. Mine supports UPnP, so I didn't have to open any ports for RDP.

1) What VNC server software are you using on the Windows 7 64bit host?
2) Are you on the same physical network and same subnet in that network?
3) On the Windows 7 host, are you using the "Work", "Home group" or "Public" networks?
4) Are you using Windows firewall or a third party firewall, like Norton or McAffe?
Sorry, no answers, but these might poke you into the answer.
Cheers and good luck,
Jeff
tightvnc on the machine, androidvnc on the tab, connectbot for ssh tunnel, no issues.

PocketCloud doesn't require you be on the same local network, so I know that can't be stopping it.
Did you check out PocketCloud's Troubleshooting section, they have some good FAQs about it.

It's Windows Server 2003 Server 64 bit. How can I make this a proxy I can access on other computers? I can't turn it into a VPN because it says that I only have one NIC and if I try to get around that by using customized instead of simple VPN, the RRAS service doesnt start with error 0x2. I can't use the SFC command because it says that I am not an administrator and I am as well as running it as admin. What can I do to solve any problem?
You could always install Cygwin and do a SSH server.

I can't seem to find a way to set this up on the server side. I know that my firewall is turned off but when attempting to connect to it, it only shows a blank DOS windows or command prompt with a green curser. When doing this from my unhindered internet at home (no webpages blocked, which is what I am trying to bypass) it allows me to login but not share the internet connection. Would you like to point me to a decent tutorial? Sorry for taking up your time with my stupid questions and problems.

It doesn't do anything. It says connection refused at client side. With BetVise ssh running, it doesnt help, but it does let me login.

There are more than 1 ways. I personally use Remote Desktop (from XtraLogic) and use the RDP connection from my phone to my server. I logon to the server as an admin and have full desktop view access. There are free RDP clients too that you can use and they give you full feature access (including resource redirection and custom resolution).
You will have to forward port 3389 from your router to your laptop's IP, in case you wish to connect from the internet. Works like a charm for me.
Hope this helps.
