I recently mananged to upgrade to 3.14 ROM(official) so now I can run Android. I have 2 SD cards, one SanDisk 4GB(class 2, SDHC) and a Kingston 2GB(no class or SDHC written on it). Android boots just fine from the 2GB one, however when I try to boot the exact same build using the 4GB card, it shows the HTC/build logo and instead of the lockscreen/setup it reboots... I don't understand why it does this, they are identical. I used the 4GB one before(on my X1), it was formatted with 3 partitions, but I reformated with just one FAT32 partition. Should I reformat again and try? didn't work, it still crashes after the HTC logo..
Bump and update, I tried my 8GB card and that works fine(SDHC, class 2). However when I retried my 4GB card(formatted with 32kb allocation) it didn't work. I don't understand..

I've come across a little SD recovery app for 4GB cards that were partitioned for 2GB.
This is a transcend app, and they state its only for their X150 SD card, but i don't think there should be a problem recovering other cards.
I don't think there's any difference from other SDs.
(I haven't tried this cause i dont have a 4GB card, i just wanted to bring this to your attention...)
Try it out and report the results..

Good Luck!
I have tried several builds but the result is disappointing. None of them can boot when I want to use EXT4 partition for data on it with my large SDHC card (16GB)
My 8GB Class 6 microSDHC runs fine but when I want to use Class 10 16GB card, the system crashes on boot...
I think 15GB FAT32 partition (I created 1GB EXT4 partition at the end of the card) is too large to be seen during Android boot or what?
Do you think it will work when I create only 7GB FAT32 and 9GB EXT4 it will work? Or should I switch the order of partitions (EXT4 first?) (it is not good solution but good for test)
Can someone from cooks help here? Thank you very much.
Firstly, this is the wrong section. There is a Q&A section explicitly for questions like this.
Secondly, I have a 16GB card with exactly this setup (15+1) and it works perfectly. Your card is possibly defective. Grab this little program and test it.
I use a 16GB CLASS 6 SD CARD for a long time.
maybe is something wrong with ur 16GB
and never create a partition bigger than 1.5g for your EXT4
I still guess the problem is your 16gb card..
I am also using a 16GB class 6 micro SDHC with no issues so far.
My partitioning is 14+2 (FAT32+EXT4) and runs like a charm.
I agree with the others, there must be something wrong with your card.
Thank you. I will test it using the program...
THe card otherwise works correctly...no bad clusters, missing files....perhaps the Class 10 is only a advertisement and the card is too slow? (because I heard that if the card is too slow then the system may boot too long and also become unresponsive (force close or wait for main android process etc.)
SO to give a public anti-advert I will reveal that my microSDHC card is KINGSTON CLASS 10
I have the same card kingston 16Go C10 and no pb !
My advice, make your partition (after full format fat32) with CWR (swap 0)
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App

I've been trying everything to get a NAND install using a (brand new) Kingston 16gb class but have had no luck. The same process works on my sandisk 2gb card. I posted the question earlier today for any advice.
I got same problems with my 16 gb class 10 card (adaTA).
The card is 100% error free and on winmo work superfast. Unfortunately when i try to make ext partition on this than is going to work so sloow and with errors.
I have also PQI 8gb class 6, sandisk 8gb class 2 and samsung 16gb class 2 and I have to say that ext partitioned roms work fastest on slowest sandisk!!!
What is going on?
SanDisk 32GB MicroSDHC. no problems with it.
i used gparted livedisc to format 1gb ext4 partition. works great
32 GB ok but what class?
hey got a 16gb class6 card and it dont work ?
is it because class6 because my old 8gb class4 working perfect..
No mine and lots of others use 16bg x6 sd cards.
Try putting it into a card reader deleting all the partitions and reformating use something like EASEUS free edition don't forget its a primary partition of fat 32
You may also like to reinstall your rom
I had HD2 with WP7 7720 4GB SD Card
Decide and bought 16 GB SD Card
Inserted it and when started phone it stucks after 1 2 3 4 5 GO GO GO
Reinstall WP7 Yuki 7720 with 16GB in
Now phone recognize 3,47 GB instead of 14.8GB
Any Fix ?
Is your sd card recognized by a computer? If so I would reformat the card.
when i bouught it i put it in a card reader
card have been already formatted but i perform format again
after i have install wp7 now windows can see it but neither opened it, neither formatted it
Try a hard reset again and see if WP7 picks up the rest of the space on the card. Of course, use the dev_storagelock cab to free up the card and see what you can do with it on your computer.
What kind of SD card are you using? WP7 is very picky.
My first card was a Kingston 4GB class 2 and it caused high battery drain.
My second card was a Kingston 16GB class 4 and it wouldn't even boot into WP7.
I'm now using a fantastic PNY 16GB class 4.
The brand/size/class of your SD card really matters.
try this
I had no proble with my Lexar 8GB Class4; then i tried my Mustang 16GB Class10 and WP7 stated that was incompatible.....
So I decided to make a try; inserted in my PC and run SDFormatter (from Panasonic) and made a full format (i.e. format full with erase ON) .
After that WP7 accepted my SD card, and apparently it is ok....hope it lasts...

Well.
Micro SD Card HC Kingston Class 4 16GB
I think the problem is in the card.
When I try to format it with PC Windows 7 I can't normally to format it to NTFS
Only FAT32. Now trying different programs to format it, but when phone starts it freezes on logo about 10-20 minutes after that starts with error for SD Card.
Last I tryed is formatting card with Nokia E52. Leo starts wp7 normal but in Settings -> About only 50 MB free storage. I will try one2one69 what said.

After Format program said that it cannot perform flash erase because of device?
Is this device is card reader?
I am having some trouble with one of my MicroSD cards. It's a Patriot Memory MicroSD HC Class 10 32 GB card. The card is formatted with FAT32.
The card is recognized and works just fine under Android. However, when I go into recovery, the card won't mount.
I have the same issue with TWRP (under several versions, such as 2.4.4.0 and 2.6.3.0) and Thor's Touch Recovery 1.8.1 (CWM 6.0.3.7).
Does anyone have any idea what's going on?
I'm not quite sure what's going on. I purchased a brand new Sony 32gb microSD card and it works fine in both Android and recovery.
It seems like it has something to do with formatting the card... I also have a Patriot 16gb card that was working fine, but after re-formatting it (still FAT32), it no longer shows up in recovery.
I've tried formatting the non-working cards several ways... Standard Windows formatter, GUIFormat in Windows, even formatting from Android.
