Hi, just wondering if apps do stack on each other in the SD card. What I mean is that whenever I flash a new Rom and use the froyo apps 2 SD and then flash another Rom, again moving some apps to SD. So the app stack on each other.. is there any way to remove those older apps or am I wrong and apps are actually deleted when I wipe data?

It's running CM 6.0.0-DS
The easiest way is to buy the donate version of titanium backup. It has a batch process to move all user installed apps to SD card, and back if you want. Have to be rooted I'm pretty sure. Otherwise go to settings, applications, manage applications, and you can move them one by one.

My suggestion is to go to settings, applications, manage applications and you can select some that are not used very frequently so that will not have an impact on the performance of your phone.
CM6 is an awesome ROM!
Yup CM6 have that good feature in option.change app install into SD. Have not try it myself. Ran into it accidentally. Kekeke

I had a similar problem... It was conflicting with something on my sd-ext so I had to do a complete format, and re partitioned and re flashed now I don't have any problems
Hope this helps

Well I havent partitioned my SD card at all, would you recommend I partition it?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Well, I would format my SD card first, and if u want to partition the SD card, do it through amon_ra, then flash DTa2sd, its already on the shooter ROM but it isn't the newest beta... The newest beta allows for the datasd command, moving a lot of ur data to the SD card, but make sure it SD card is at least a class 6 or higher otherwise this could hinder the snappyness (is that a word?) Of your ROM... I don't know if it is mandatory to partition or not...

Ok thanks ill try to do that but i have the standard SD card that came with my EVO is that a good enough SD card?

Hi everyone,
Due to the success I had loading the Android nand on my HD2, its been a while since I've been here. I wanted to upgrade my phone to the latest Android software. Can you guys help with that? I am running a nand rom from Dark Forces Team. Is there anyway to upgrade without losing my apps and/or other things....I guess?
Thank you in advance!

Flash new rom.
Install Apps again and restore the data

Sorry, I must be blind. Is there a link or something I should click on? I skimmed through the forum; not sure where the apps are nor the Rom I should use to upgrade.
You go to android nand section on xda and choose rom you want and download these Apps through market.
Sry that's what you asked for and that's it.

Do you recommend a specific nand? I'm on t-mobile US.

Hi guys. I have very big problem. I do not understand how to have it all repaired. I can move the files to the sd card but when relocated one more game then it can not be opened. What can I do?

Or just standard SD, which gives FCs when you move apps to the SD card (the data.img is read by the system as being internal storage). Not too sure about NativeSD but I think apps should work fine on that when placed on the SD card.
Yes, i have standart Micro sd. I do not now that problem.. When i move little apps on sd they work greatly būt when some bigger app (example - 15mb,yeah) thats notiks work and only said "not responding" and i have only once chance to force close that app.

Hi,
I will be receiving a galaxy S4 soon.
I need to know what would be the best option.
I am going to root & then either:
remove all bloatware using a no bloat or root uninstall app.
or
install a custom rom Doc Barebone possibly??
I would like to get as much space back as possible as I have heard that you only get around 9gb on a 16gb model.
Ideally I would like to keep (or reinstall with full functionality) the stock camera app.
I am not fussed about all of the touchwiz wizardry.
I also need to be able to install apps 2 sd card
& have live wallpapers & a music & video player
How much space is usable after a doc barebones rom install?
Apologies for all questions, coming back to android after a few years on iphone.
None of roms than I see opens more Space, you can move some apps to sd card.

I read that the Google play rom gives 12gb usable space as there is no bloatware & was considering it also. I thought the doc barebones may give slightly more.
Do all of the custom roms have app2sd functionality?
Can you install live wallpapers on the doc barebones rom?

Thanks for this , it looks like I will install doc barebones as it keeps the stock camera & if I can store apps on sd as well that will be great.
One more question, if installing a rom with no bloatware doesn't give more space, would it not be easier to just root & remove bloat ware from stock.
I'm a bit disappointed I thought I could have got some of the storage back. I read on another thread that Samsung have partitioned it so that 8-9gb is free regardless.
Read elsewhere that the google version of s4 has 12gb free.
Is there no way to completely wipe the phone & installation rom that gives you the same 12gb as the google edition..?
The apps to sd "feature" does not save you any appreciable space. You are far better off using a third party app to move the data to external sd and symlink back to the internal memory.

Reasons why people use Modified Stock ROMS is simply because the developers do a lot of editing as well as build.prop tweaks to insure Performance and Overall Stability.
Regardless of what TW Rom you use, you will have about 8.+ ----9Gb free space...
Don't Say Thanks. Hit IT LOL..
Hi.,
I have the i9505 version. I have rooted using Odin & now have su rights
I noticed that the docsbarebones rom is for the other galaxy.
Are there any roms that keep the stock camera & have apps 2 sd
Apologies noob
*** edit I have tried a few roms , but what I did was unrooted & loaded the german version of stock rom that has apps2sd then used auto root so I can remove bloat.
When I send an app 2 sd it sometimes says your device cannot move 2 sd card.
It still lets me do it though.
*** further edit. It isnt actually working.
Get error "/The_Device_does_not_have_a_real_primary_external_storage_or_the_primary_external_storage_is_emulated__Moving_app_to_SD_Function_my_not_be_supported"
What can I do to get apps2sd?
Does anyone know how to get app2sd on galaxy s4? It says its installing to sd card but its just writing it to internal.
I checked by installing a massive game, said it was all on sd, but when I uninstalled it gave me the space back internally.

It worked exactly as designed. Only the apk is moved to the ext SD. It does not move any associated data.

Hi, none of the files ever get copied to the external sd card though. They end up in some sort of sd/emulated/0 folder.
They arent on the external sd card. Everything seems to get stored internally.

That's the way it is supposed to be. The apps to SD feature is such a waste of time, I wonder why anyone even bothers. Only a single small installation file is moved to your external. Everything else is left internally. That is by design. If you want actual app to SD functionality, you're going to have to use a third party app such as Folder Mount to get it.

I think link2sd can do it. I have had no luck though. I cant get it to recognise the second partition.
2 of my main reasons for getting this phone was ability to store apps on external sd & a good camera . They are both frustrating me now as I cant get any method to work for my sd storage & seemingly galaxy s4 has hardware limitation on camera functions my iPhone 4s could do.
