[CLOSE_PLZ] Rom Manager Force Closes, NEED HELP - Droid X General

After working on porting over a theme to my Dx on the 2.3.15 OTA, I have noticed that Rom manager force closes. It worked with my Dx before on the incognito theme, and I SBF'ed and started on this port. Any ideas on what may be causing problems?
Thanks

[Q] Help with ROM Manager with RubiXFocused 1.8.6

I just installed RubiXFocused 1.8.6 yesterday. I installed it by booting into Clockwork Recovery (I think that's what it's called) and installing the zip file. It is a brand new ROM for the Droid X and I am very happy with it. The only thing is that it has a white status bar and I think it would look a lot better with a black one.
I looked online and found that the easiest way to do this would be through ROM Manager. So I got ROM Manager and tried to install Blackmodz Black Bar. Everything works until it reboots and tries to install the update. About halfway through I get an error showing a triangle with an exclamation mark inside and the android next to it. And then the phone reboots with no update.
I am in bootstrap recovery when I do all of this. Any help??
That black bar that you are trying to install is not compatible with Rubix at all. Rubix uses a completely different framework. When you try to install that black bar- it is trying to replace the Rubix framework-res.apk. Thankfully you were "unsuccessful".
Might I ask- are you keeping up with the thread on Rubix 1.8 over here...
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/drod2169-x/97764-often-imitated-never-duplicated-focused-1-8-6-a.html
...it is very helpful and you will be able to find modifications that work in this thread. Now that you are running RubiX you must be careful with any mods that you do to your X bc Rubix is using a framework-res.apk that is unique to the Rom and not shared with any of the other roms or the original Moto rom. that means most mods need to be specifically designated for rubix 1.8.
hope that is helpful and didn't come off sounding superior. I hate being talked down to but noticed that inadvertently I can sound that way.
good luck.
Not at all. thank you so much for your help. I had not seen that thread and it is super helpful.

Can someone please let me know rubix 1.8.9 is more stable than 1.8.6 ? I have a rooted droid X running OTA 2.2. I have YET to install a custom ROM, and am a little apprehensive, as I do NOT want to BRICK my phone. Also, can someone please verify the correct procedure to install a custom ROM. I have Clockwork Recovery Manager installed, as well as Koush's bootstrap for DX. I believe I have to boot into Clockwork Recovery and perform - wipe data/wipe cache, and then install zip from SD (once I put the ROM zip file on the SD).then sit back and let install..continue..Am I missing something? Thanks for any help/advice.

[Q] Market problems.

I'm having a problem with my market app. The issue is when I download an app, it will download to 100% then start installing the app. But that's as far as I get, it never installs.
I've also noticed that when I go to the manage apps section, it just says computing & never finishes computing.
I'm perm rooted S-off originally had iced glacier then updated to if 1.1.1, currently I'm on cm6 nightly. Any ideas what's up???

Yeah. Sounds like you jumped into rooting and ROM flashing before you really knew what you were doing.
Not trying to be insulting but you have to expect some issues if you are flashing different ROMs and what not.
JMHO of course.
Maybe you should reflash the stock ROM and start over.

Rom: Issue with tranquility and titanium backup

Ok so I have an issue where i was flashing the ROM Tranquility for my droid x and it was difficult to get it running but now it seems to be going ok. But now I'm trying to restore all my apps using Titanium and for some reason as soon as i try to restore even one, the phone quick reboots. PLEASE HELP, becuz i have a TON of apps that i just dont really wanna go reinstall every single one
I had the same issue with tranquility...
Not sure what went wrong.
I was also unable to install apps from the market.
Buuut...I personally wasn't all that thrilled with it anyway...and went back to Apex rather than bothering with it.
I hope you find a fix though!
EDIT:
I found our problem...with a quick search.
I haven't tried yet (I prefer apex anyway) but the install is this...
SBF 2.3.320
Then SBF 2.3.340.
The .340 isn't a full sbf and merely updates the files that are intended to be updated by...the update.
We were essentially installing over mock stock.
Then, I heard you must wipe your phone 2-4 times. Not just once. As an added precaution.

Camera Problems with Multiple roms

Over the past few weeks I have been switching between roms...
I started with Birdmans Fly then to Fission 2.5.7 then went to Liberty.
This whole time my camera has been malfunctioning. Anytime I take a picture it shows up as an invalid file or a black screen. I've tried using 3rd party camera applications but nothing is working
HEEEELLLLLPPPPP me please

Sounds like a problem writing the image to your sdcard. Tried backing it up, formatting it and seeing if that fixes the issue?
Just curious... what version of MOTO software are you running on? 2.3.15, 2.3.320, or 2.3.340?
Mine did the same thing. The problem was caused by flashing from a 2.3.15 rom to a 2.3.340 without first getting the official O.T.A 2.3.340 from VZW. I also had trouble with streaming Pandora and with the stock music player. What I did to fix it was, use RSD Lite to flash back to a stock 2.3.15 rom, then got the official 2.3.340 O.T.A update. Rebooted Re-rooted and Re-Flashed Apex 1.3.1 and all was well.
THanks guys Ill try that.
I thought i was running 2.3 something but it shows me with 2.2.1

Sticky Gum

Hello, I rooted my phone about a week ago successfully. I then installed the fission 2.5.7 Black edition which I like a lot. Then I decided I need a backup, a clean backup that is of none my personal settings, of the original stock android, and as well as to verify the original version of my android OS. I did that successfully as well. Wanting to see what Gummyjar looked like I installed it successfully as well and gave it a good look over. I then decided to go back to my fission 2 .5 .7 Black edition and this is where my trouble begins. Using ROM manager I click on the restore manage backups like I've done many times, click on the backup I wish to restore, it asked a couple usual questions then reboots. Within a few minutes I get the GummyJar boot logos, and goes right into the GummyJar OS. As though I did not do anything but a regular reboot. No matter what I do, try to install a new ROM, it just reboots right back into GummyJar. While I am new at this I have installed a couple ROMs successfully, as well course, rooted my phone, however I don't know what to do here or if there is something inherent with GummyJar that I need to do. I could I think, do a battery pull and bring up my emergency menu, but thought I would try this forum first. GummyJar is nice but I don't like being stuck with, even if I wanted to keep it. In any case I do not want to keep it I like fission 2.5.7 Black edition the best of them all so far. Original OS 2.3.20
Now Gummyjar
Trying to get back to fission 2.527
Used fission rom manager 1.2.4 lite < installed fission 2.5.7
Used Rom Manager 3.0.0.7 to create and restore roms
Any Help? Thanks much
Steve
Guess that did it
I deleted and reinstalled Fission lite and rom manager. Much to my surprise this SEEMED to do it. I have a hard time thinking this fixed my issue but it is working now and I am back to fission 2.5.7 black edition. So if this helps anyone else good, still though was a strange problem.
Thanks
Steve
