Name your Title as [ANNOUNCEMENT] just a suggestion. GREAT NEWS, & a HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Darkyy & Doc, A new ROM to play with.

Let's see how it is..

Hope the GPS reception has been improved, otherwise the 2.2.1 Roms have all been pretty fast without lagfixes.

The modem was uploaded a couple of days ago, search for JPE on the speedmod thread. Been using it since it was posted.

Check this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=891922 the download link works.

Thanks, I will look for it there.

This goes to prove that die-hard people who browse DEV will never look at the general section. And thus miss out on all the new Official ROM releases.
We require a guy to wrongly post a thread in DEV to know that an Official ROM has been released. Ironic.

Modem gives me poor gps lock. I'm getting a lock only after 40 seconds to a minute compared with the JPY modem which gives me a lock in less than 15 seconds.
Battery performance is still undetermined.

EC05 "tar" on samsung site (sorry, I guess it was just source)

Didn't see this posted yet... but the "SPH-D700_Froyo_EC05.tar.gz" is posted on samsung's opensource website.

Has anyone made an upgrade off this tar file yet? If I use Odin with this tar... I believe it will wipe my phone. Is this true?

Samsungs policy on not informing users of what an update includes is "We want the user to be 'fascinated' with when they upgrade, all of a sudden there is something new.... The user finds all sort of new things and makes the upgrade process like a child with a new toy"...

Users with carriers who support NITZ (automatic time/date updates) do not get cellular reception at all.
And that's why I haven't flash any ICS to my SGS2, seems like ages 'till that works out...

WTF man...?
Look at the title you gave:
ICS KP4 release (download link)
What's the sense in all this thread?
What release?
What download link?
Is there anything we didn't know?
Is MJ playing cards with Elvis and you got pics?
The first post was meant for a reserved space for a download link when it comes up
As I said on the other thread. "Official Leak" is a contradiction in terms. It is either a leak and Samsung do not want anyone to have it or it is official and it is a Samsung Beta/preview release. It cannot be both.
Maybe the OP should change the title of the thread and remove the download link writing and put "download link to come on 1st of January 2012" or something like that to avoid any posts looking for a link.

You're not understanding.
These builds are NOT released by Samsung to the public. They are not being released by Samsung to the developers here on XDA. They are not being released by Samsung AT ALL - they are meant to be used inside Samsung, by Samsung developers, for Samsung developers.
The only reason we are getting these is because someone inside Samsung is secretly handing them out.

JB Trinidad & Tobago [I9300UBDLI1] - different than other leaks...

Base Firmware: I9300UBDLI1 (4.1.1)
Carrier: Unbranded
Build Date: 12th September 2012
Modem: UBDLI1 CSC: OUBDLI1
Most probably it's just another leak, and the site claiming it's official is... not worth mentioning.
So I remove the link.
The only different things in this leak are:
-it's not BTU (British version),
-older naming: LI1, while we have LI5, although the build date is today.

That's what the linked 'article' says actually, but it's a very badly written one. Contradicts itself, mentions XXDLI1 suddenly at one point etc. I wouldn't trust it too much. At best perhaps this is a leak of LI1 for that specific region, which is being touted as 'official'. I have my fingers crossed though.

I put the source so you can find out yourself.
I would be cautious and wait a bit longer.
Is it an OTA update directly downloaded to your phone via phone's updater?
As suspected, the linked site is unreliable. Look at their page on the European XXDLI1: http://www.trickytweaks.com/how-to-...xxdli1-android-4-1-1-jelly-bean-official.html
TL;DR version: XXDLI1 is also being called an 'official' & 'final' update. Bah.
I read somewhere that the D from Dxx ROMs stands for Development, so... yeah.
PS: I might be wrong tho.-
Interesting that it isn't an XX release though, so far all leaked betas have been XX.
not saying it is a finished ROM, just that its interesting.
Also, that site is the biggest piece of sh*t I have ever seen, I don't know why people keep reading/linking it.
They call the update 4.1.4 numerous times and its using some skin called touch-viz
